Dr. Haber was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1948. He attended public schools, graduating from S.J. Tilden High School in 1965. He attended Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, graduating in 1970 with a Bachelor's degree in Biology.
He attended Columbia University, School of Dental and Oral Surgery from 1970 to 1974, graduating with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and winning the Oral Pathology Award. Dr. Haber received his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at the Westchester County Medical Center/New York Medical College from 1974 to 1977, being chief resident of the Service from 1976 to 1977.
After becoming an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Haber elected to take a one year residency in Anesthesiology at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, graduating in 1978. He has been in private practice since 1978; specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Haber received his status as a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon by examination in 1981. He became a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology by examination in 1979. He became a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1990 and a Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology in 2002.
Dr. Haber has been a volunteer attending surgeon in the Department of Dentistry of the Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York, since 1987. He has been an attending surgeon at Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck, New Jersey, since 1985 and Palisades Medical Centerin North Bergen, New Jersey, since 1982. He is licensed in New York and New Jersey, with General Anesthesia Permits in both states. He has been certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support since 1980. He is a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, the Operating Room Committee and the Medical Education Committee at Holy Name Hospital. He is Co-Chairman of the Investigative Committee on Clinical Research and Chairman of the Division of Dentistry atHoly Name Hospital, as well.
Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional 4 years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. Dr. Haberpractices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal, to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. We can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures. Dr. Haber has been Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 1990 and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons since 1981. He is also Board Certified in Dental Anesthesia since 2002 and a Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology since 1979.

I don't recommend this doctor. He found a lot of excuses for not being able to do the surgery. Literally, it was just wisdom tooth removal. He charged unreasonably for doing nothing. The receptionist was rude.

When I called earlier today - The receptionist had picked up the phone and was being extremely rude as I asked her if my insurance was accepted by the practice. Please invest in friendly receptionists - it is extremely rude to be greeted by someone who does not appreciate their job. Decided to take myself to a different practice.

Dr. Steven Haber removed a tumor from my tongue! I was very apprehensive but he put me at ease. He is very knowledgeable was caring and gentle. I can highly recommend him! His office manager Julieanne was also professional and helpful!

Dr. Steven Haber removed a tumor from my tongue! I was very apprehensive but he put me at ease. He is very knowledgeable was caring and gentle. I can highly recommend him! His office manager Julieanne was also professional and helpful!

Came in to have a bump on my lip looked at. Called the office on a Monday around 10am and was able to schedule an appointment the same day at 11am. Got there around 10:50am, filled out some paperwork, and was seen by Dr. Haber within 10 mins of my appointment. He took the time to explain to me what I had, and if/when I should schedule another visit. I never felt rushed. He's pretty funny too. Left with some meds feeling very reassured. Highly recommended.

I had one of my wisdom teeth extracted this week. This was the first tooth I ever had removed. The tooth was all the way in the back of my mouth and the root was very long so this made it more challenging to remove. Dr. Haber did an outstanding job! He put me at ease during the procedure by telling jokes and keeping the mood light. He took the time to answer all of my questions and concerns. The staff is very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. The entire visit was approximately 20 minutes. I went home with hardly any pain, discomfort or bleeding. I was able to eat soft food when I returned home. I am very pleased with the recovery time and healing. Dr. Haber also called me later that afternoon to see how I was feeling. Unheard of in this day and age!!! I recommend Dr. Haber to anyone who needs an oral surgery procedure. Thank you Dr. Haber for your patience and professionalism! Sincerely, Lance DesJardins

I recently had one wisdom tooth extracted by Dr. Haber. He came highly recommended by numerous people. He was honest, professional, extremely knowledgeable and just an overall great guy. He even called me later that evening to see how I was feeling. A practice that very few still follow. His staff were definitely the nicest ladies I ever met at any Doctor/Dentist's office. They were really helpful with assisting with my insurance coverage. I highly recommend his practice!!

My dentist recommended that I have my wisdom teeth (four) extracted by Dr. Haber, and I'm really glad I did. Everyone here is amazing. You're given all the information you need, plus they make you feel so welcome that any nervousness just melts away. I have family overseas and I'm honestly disappointed they'll have to go somewhere else.

Got my wisdom teeth out with Dr. Haber and I couldn't be happier. I was aapprehensive at first due to a bad experience with my previous dentist; I had two wisdom teeth taken out and it was extremely painful--he took over two hours and unlike he assured me the local anesthesia was not enough to block out the pain and the bone drilling pressure. I honestly broke down crying during the procedure and my face looked like a purple swollen ball for a good three weeks. With Dr. Haber though it was so painless and so quick (I was sedated but the procedure itself also took under one hour). I don't remember the procedure at all and I had very little swelling afterwards. I can eat almost normally the day after the procedure. Dr. Haber from the beginning was friendly and courteous while being very knowledgeable and most importantly explained everything very well in layman's terms which really helped me build trust. He even gave me a call after the surgery in person to make sure I was doing okay. Dr was also very accommodating with pricing and his office staff is also wonderful and caring. I recommend him wholeheartedly and if I need any more oral surgery done I would definitely go back to him.

I had a wisdom tooth extracted about a month ago. The experience couldn't be better. Dr. Haber and all the staff are super professional and friendly. The whole process was smooth and easy. Dr. Haber even called me later on that day to make sure I was ok without complications. Highly recommended!
