At Haas Orthodontic Arts Akron, we share a common philosophy: By choosing the most appropriate treatment plan, carefully timed for optimum results, and employing long-term retention, we can give our patients more than a beautiful smile. We can give them the confidence they need to succeed throughout their entire lives.

We accomplish our mission by building on the successful treatment of more than 20,000 patients through world-renowned orthodontic techniques, taking pride in discovering and developing the uniqueness of each and every patient, believing in the skill and dependability of our team, and never taking shortcuts.

It is our hope that by staying loyal to each other and our patients, we will continue to know the pride and excitement, the laughter and security, and the self-satisfaction that comes from spending every day amazed by the joy that we bring to every life we touch.

You might say that orthodontics is in our blood. Our father, Andrew, founded Haas Orthodontic Arts more than 50 years ago. Today three of his sons, Roger, Mark and Eric, carry on the family tradition of providing exemplary orthodontic care inStow, Cuyahoga Falls, and Akron/Canton.

I never write reviews but I feel obligated to write about my experience here. Was in braces for 2 years and 4 months (I'm now 31). Was quoted 18-20 or 19-22 months. Can't quiet remember. Was told about a year and a half into braces that we were doing finishing touches. A year later, I still found myself in braces and with my teeth looking worse than they did the year prior when I was told they would be off soon. I wasn't clearly told why it was taking longer. When I would bring up a concern I had towards the end, they would fix it but it would consistently make something else worse. I was going in circles and emotionally a wreck over what was happening. I ended up getting a second opinion and was quoted 8-12 months with my new ortho. Another year of work to fix what the past 9months did to my teeth. Not to mention the cost. It's been awful and I can't in good conscience recommend Haas. The first year was great..I was so happy with the way my teeth were moving. I have no idea why the quality of work began to rapidly decrease as time went on. There were times I would bring concerns up and they were dismissed, which only made me feel like I couldn't speak up for myself. I hate confrontation. There were also adjustments I went to where I saw a different Dr and he would look at my chart and go over what the other Dr did at my previous adjustment and say "I don't know why he would do that." That left me feeling not so confident with the work. A few months before I switched orthos, I met with on of the Drs for a private consultation to discuss what was happening. He told me they had 95% control of my teeth, while nature had the rest. I totally get that. Makes sense. But then why for the last 9 months had my teeth been going backwards... when they had 95% control? That's what made me feel like it was their error, not just the nature of my teeth. Especially since I had already seen how great my teeth could look a little more than a year into my treatment (when I was told they would be off soon). I have so many progress photos I've taken over my treatment, and to see how they've changed for the worse, while trying to bring up my concerns and trust the work, while then seeing them continuously get worse, was a mental mind f**k. I was not doing well. I am now with another ortho and the movement I've seen in less than two months has been more positive movement than I saw the last 9months I was at Haas. I was also blown away with how up to date my new ortho's tech is; Haas is very old school in many aspects. And while that isn't inherently bad, I think it may hinder some aspects. For example Haas takes impressions the old way with the mold. I didn't realize there was a newer, more less invasive (and less anxiety inducing, especially if you have sensory issues) way to do that until I was exposed to it at my new ortho. Being in braces for a prolonged period of time isn't healthy for your teeth. I'm so nervous now adding another possible year to my treatment (making it 3.5 years in braces). The cost I am paying for my new treatment is around the same cost I paid for what I got at Haas. I can't express how financially debilitating this is. To be an adult and not get coverage so I have paid out of pocket. Upwards now of $10,000 in total. To say all of that, I want to add- the front desk woman, Kelly, was always kind and accommodating to me. She is such a nice woman who I felt genuinely wanted me to finish with Haas and for there to be a resolution to the problem (which I wanted too). She listened to my concerns and never dismissed my feelings, and I'm very grateful to her for that. It wasn't all bad. I realize this review may sound that way, but I want to be detailed with my experience given the cost. The dental assistant's were very nice. The Dr's overall were very nice. It really just came down to the quality of work and de brace dates being set over and over and continuing to pass by those dates with no actual de brace in sight. I followed their instruction to a T at home. Overall, I can't recommend them.

I accidently came to the wrong location. We were supposed to go to the office in Cuyahoga Falls, but instead went to Green. They went out of their way to squeeze my daughter in. The doctor explained everything on detail and the whole staff was so nice.
