Dr. David and Dr. Maria Haas, father and daughter, work closely together to provide a high level of service and care to each of their patients. We have only one office and both doctors are present on patient days for your convenience and consideration of your time.

Dr. David founded the practice in 1968 after graduating with a masters degree and certificate as an orthodontic specialist from The Ohio State University. His dental degree was earned at Loyola University Chicago, and he subsequently served as a captain in the dental corps of the U.S. Air Force.

He is a member of the dental and orthodontic organizations listed below, and has served as president of the Cleveland Society of Orthodontists, the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists, and the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation.

Dr. Haas has been the chief orthodontic consultant at the craniofacial center of Akron Childrens Hospital for more than 35 years. He was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from the Great Lakes Association of Orthodontists in 2004. His proudest accomplishment, however, is the association with his daughter Maria.

The Ohio State Dental Board requires each licensed dentist to attend 40 hours of approved continuing education every two years. Drs. David and Maria each attend several times the minimum requirement every other year. They consider it essential to be constant students.

Dr. Maria joined the practice in the summer of 1992. She earned her dental degree in 1988 at The Ohio State University. She went on to Loyola UniversityChicagoand completed a three-year specialty certification in orthodontics and a masters degree in oral biology in 1992. She is an active member ofseveral local and national orthodontic and dental societies listed below, and has served in leadership positions at the local, state, and national levels of organized dentistry. Currently, she participates in patient care for the craniofacial center at Akron Childrens Hospital.

As an independent orthodontic office, were not insurance-based. While we work with insurance companies, we dont contract with them. This ensures were able to provide the right type and level of care, as well as an exceptional treatment experience, for you.

In addition, when your teeth are in the right position, your bite is better. This means less strain on the jawas well as facial and neck muscles. It also means you canchew your food properly, for improved nutrition.

Our practice offers early orthodontic treatment. This is key to correcting small issues before they become big ones. With early treatment, were able to intervene and ensure the jaw and bite develop correctly. As a result, its less likely, though not guaranteed, thechild will need surgical orthodontics or extractions.
