Dr. Jim Haack was born in Wisconsin but grew up in Kansas (kindergarten through college). His educational and career adventures have allowed him to live and work in Alaska, Texas, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Alaska (again!) before returning to Wisconsin to practice orthodontics.
Dr. Haackis dedicated to keeping abreast of the latest treatment techniques by attending continuing education courses through the University of Minnesota, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Midwestern Society of orthodontics, Wisconsin Society of Orthodontics, and the Minnesota Association of Orthodontists (MAO). Dr. Haack was president of the MAO in 2019 even though he lives and practices in Wisconsin! In addition to sponsoring several local organizations, Dr. Haack donates his time and expertise to the Smiles Change Lives organization, a national nonprofit organization that delivers life-changing orthodontic treatment to children from low-income families.
Our staff is committed to providing the best possible care for you and your family. Dr. Haack's clinical assistants continue to grow in their knowledge of orthodontics through continuing education courses with the American Association of Orthodontists, Midwestern Society of Orthodontists, and the Minnesota Association of Orthodontists. Our team enjoys meeting new patients and seeing the wonderful new smiles that emerge as a result of orthodontic treatment. Our front desk and chairside staff are happy to answer any questions you may have regarding your treatment.
Kathy has been a chair side assistant, but is now in charge of taking X-rays, photos, and making retainers for our patients. She purchases supplies. She is married to Jim. They live on Bear Lake. She loves to travel and take pontoon, Jeep and side-by-side rides with friends. She loves the beautiful smiles created by a great team.
Donna has been a chairside assistant for 21 years. She's the go-to person when extra jobs need to be done around the clinic. Donna enjoys meeting new people and hearing about their various interests. Donna is a Rice Lake native and enjoys hiking, walking, antiquing, and spending time with her three grandchildren.
Tasha has worked as a dental assistant for Haack orthodontics for 3.5 years, and just recently transitioned to the insurance and patient coordinator. She also manages our website. Tasha is married and has two beautiful girls. She loves being a mom and a wife. She loves to have fun with family and friends. Her hobbies are shopping, kayaking, and outdoor walks with her family.
Katy has been with our office assisting chairside for almost two years now, but has worked in the dental field for over five years. She enjoys getting to know her patients and seeing their confidence grow throughout treatment. Katy is married to her high school sweetheart where they reside on 40 acres just outside of Chetek. She enjoys spoiling her dog and two cats, baking, camping, and ice fishing.
Nina has been a dental assistant for over five years in general dentistry. She joined our office in April of 2021. She enjoys seeing the changing smiles everyday here in orthodontics. Nina graduated from Rice Lake and now lives in Barron with her two dogs and husband. She enjoys outdoor activities and spending her free time with friends and family.
Danie was born in Minnesota, but her family moved to Wisconsin when she was in 2nd grade. Danie spent most of her life in Chetek and graduated in 2017. Danie has a degree from WITC in Cosmetology, but decided to work on smiles instead of hair. Danie enjoys spending free time with family, friends, and her boyfriend, along with country music, cuddling with her nieces, and traveling. On a sunny summer day, you could find Daniefloating the river with friends or at the dog park with her dogs.
Kenzie is our newest employee. She is in school to be a dental hygienist and is really enjoying working with patients. Kenzie is a three time auntie and loves to spend time with her nieces and nephew. She is also an extreme sushi advocate.

I'd highly recommend Dr. Haack. I don't often leave reviews but feel he needs to be acknowledged with a 5 star rating to let others know of my good experiences. I've dealt with Dr. Haack ortho and his top-notch staff for years off and on. They are always very friendly, professional, and competent. Also 3 nice clean offices in 3 locations!! A++

Staff made entire experience very easy and were always friendly and helpful. Reminders for appointments were very nice. Definitely recommend Haack for your ortho needs!

Great offices, super staff, great work! It is on the pricier side of Ortho compared to others but the work is good. We've had 3 family members there. Good experiences help make it worth it.

We have had 4 girls get braces or Invisalign from Dr. Haack. He is very transparent with the cost and offers payment options. He was less expensive than other places we checked out all 4 times. Our experience has been exceptional. I have appreciated how easy they make everything. I especially appreciated him coming to Ladysmith once a month to make attending the appointments much easier and decrease driving time. All of our girls now have beautiful smiles and that is priceless! I would highly recommend using Dr. Haack.
