Our office always utilizes the most state-of-the-art equipment available. Dr. Grant Ritchey is a true expert in his field, frequently writing and lecturing on science and evidence-based dentistry. As such, he utilizes treatments that have been demonstrated to be highly effective on a scientific basis. You can always rely on Dr. Ritchey to not only stay up to date with dental trends, but to help define them as well.
Please allow us the pleasure of submitting all of your insurance forms and helping you receive the maximum benefit. If you are unable to afford treatment, we will do everything we can to help. We design a complete payment schedule for patients requiring major work. You can pay by check, cash, or major credit card at the office.
Our philosophy is very simple. We treat our patients as we would like to be treated. Our team strives to provide excellent progressive dental care in a warm, friendly, small-town environment. Getting to know each of our patients on a personal level is very important to us. We believe that education, early recognition of potential problems, prevention, and working together to develop the best plan for your dental health provides you with the most options so that you can decide how best to proceed. We will never try to sell you any plan or treatment; we believe that all decisions are yours, and we respect those decisions.
I was born and raised in Norman, Oklahoma and graduated from Norman High School in 1978. Following high school, I attended the University of Kansas, graduating in 1982 with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Biology. Although my father is a dentist, it was not in my original plan to become one myself; after all, I had to rebel and do my own thing, right? One problem with this plan was that I couldn't help but notice how much my dad enjoyed what he did, how he thrived on the relationships he developed with his patients over the years, and how much he enjoyed learning new things and changing people's lives. I decided I wanted the same fulfillment in my career, so I swallowed my pride, admitted my dad was right, and attended the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, graduating in 1986. Although it was somewhat painful to attend school with a bunch of Oklahoma Sooners, I survived and was able to purchase the Lawrence practice of Dr. John Albers soon after graduation.
From 1987 until 1999, I practiced in both Lawrence and Tonganoxie, dividing the time between them. Following the sale of my Lawrence practice in 1998, I have settled full time in Tonganoxie, a wonderful small town with great people. Although I don't live there, Tonganoxie feels like home to me.
I have two amazing daughters: Julie, who graduated in 2007 with a degree in Performance Studies from Northwestern University in Chicago. She has her own theatre company, teaches drama, and performs and directs shows. Macy graduated from KU in 2011, and is an account executive for a Kansas City marketing firm.
Diane is the cheerful voice and smiling face that has greeted you for over 16 years in our office. Working in the medical field for over 25 years, Diane is well versed in all areas of dental administration and is always available to assist you with your scheduling, financial, or insurance concerns. She has had extensive training at the Pankey Institute, the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), and many more.
Jaime graduated from the Johnson County Community College Dental Hygiene program in 2008. Eager to begin her career, Jaime joined us right after graduation and has become an integral part of our team. Her favorite part of her job is meeting new people, getting to know them on a personal level, and helping them achieve their oral health goals. Jaime enjoys spending time with her husband, friends, and family- including several nieces and nephews.

I've been transferred to many locations including California and Kansas and I have never had a better dentist than Dr. Ritchey in Tonganoxie. After 20 years, I've moved across the border to Missouri. I still drive 43 miles twice a year for Dr. Ritchey's honest care. He never tries to sell me something I don't need.

I've been seeing Dr Ritchey since I was 6!! I absolutely love the experience I have there. It's comfortable and friendly. The staff is excellent and always smiling. Dr. Ritchey is always so welcoming and professional but gets to know you as a person too not just a patient. I was able to get in and out with ease but still felt heard and helped. I highly recommend this place!

Dr. Ritchey and his staff are amazing! All are kind, polite, thorough, and genuine. I have been going to this facility for a few years now and am so grateful as I don't think I would have my teeth today if I hadn't made a change. Before seeing Dr. Ritchey, I saw a dentist every three months. The dentist himself cleaned my teeth but was doing a poor job. After seeing Dr. Ritchey, he recommended scaling and corrected my issues. My teeth are in so much better shape now that I only have to have them cleaned twice a year. The office personnel and hygienists are sweet, patient, and quick to answer or assist in any way they can. Thank you Dr. Ritchey and your staff for taking such good care of me :)

I'm going through the denture process, Dr. Ritchey hasn't just been walking me through the steps of the process, he's also explained why those steps are necessary. Anything is easier to understand if you know the purpose behind it. His staff is just as committed and helpful as he is.

They were wonderful in helping me get my dentures fixed. I went in expecting to need a new upper denture. Instead Dr Ritchey repaired it and gave me hope of not needing one anytime soon. I can't recommend them enough

I have moved away from Tonganoxie, but I am happy to drive the hour-ish to come and see Dr. Ritchey and his crew. They always take such good care of me. I feel very lucky to have found them 10+ years ago. Can't recommend them enough.
