Dr. K Cheyn Gunnerson grew up in what was a small community at the base of Big Cottonwood Canyon in Salt Lake City. He saw dentistry as an art, a way to build not only a beautiful smile but health and confidence in oneself. After graduating from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Medical Biology, he went on to attend dental school at The Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry, graduating in the top 5% of his class.
Dr. Gunnerson has spent the majority of his years in practice solely devoted to family dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and implant dentistry. He has invested thousands of hours into post-graduate education in order to ensure he is providing the highest quality care to his community in Payson, Utah. Dr. K Cheyn Gunnerson has also invested in some of the highest available technologies in the dental field such as; cold laser therapy, CBCT 3D cone beam imaging, In-house lab technologies and cerec machines.
On the rare opportunities where Dr. Gunnerson is not treating patients or expanding his education, he enjoys being outdoors. Much of this time is devoted to tending his expansive home garden, orchard and beekeeping.
Josie joined our Payson, Utah Assistant Team in January 2018. Unusual as it may seem, Josie always enjoyed going to the dentist as a child, which led her down the career path of working in the dental field. Josie strives to build relationships with her patients and finds their trust very important and rewarding. Josies favorite part of working at Gunnerson Dental is their encouragement for learning and utilizing individual strengths to constantly better the practice. Outside of work you can find Josie spending time with her family and awesome husband. She loves the outdoors where you can usually find her off hiking, fishing, and hunting. Plus, she loves staying home as much as she can, enjoying any good movie!
Karin joined our Team in March 2019. Karin is passionate about healthcare and previously worked as a CNA. Karin enjoys making patients feel comfortable and valued as part of our dental family. Karin chose the dental field so she could spend more time with her family. Karins bubbly, bright personality brings lots of light and fun to our office.
Kadee became a member of our team in September 2020. She is so passionate about the advances in health technology. She strives to help individuals find the same medication-free pain relief that she has been able to achieve, through Cold Laser Therapy.
Braeden is the newest addition to our team. He is passionate about all things health and fitness. Braedens goals are to grow his oral health knowledge and work towards becoming a dental hygienist. He is an excellent assistant and a welcome addition to our clinical team!
Sydney joined our Payson, Utah team in September 2017. She graduated from Utah Valley University with a bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene with honors and also had the opportunity to go to Guatemala for ten days to serve children there by cleaning their teeth. Sydney is passionate about helping her patients take charge of their oral health through education and preventive care. Sydney grew up in Highland and currently lives in Orem. She is fun-loving and sweet, and patients love that about her! Sydney loves spending time with her husband and family, playing board games, traveling, reading, and eating sushi.
Sherrie graduated from Utah College of Dental Hygiene with a bachelors degree December 2016 and joined the Gunnerson Dental Team in May of 2020. What Sherrie loves about her job is that Im able to help my patients be more confident about their smile, and at the same time educating them about oral hygiene. Sherrie chose the dental field because as odd as it sounds, she enjoyed going to the dentist as a child. From experience with her older sisters fear of the dentist she wants to help all people, especially kids, not be afraid of coming to the dental office. For fun Sherrie travels with family and friends, rides ATVs, reads and watches movies!
Amber joined our team in November 2013. She earned her bachelors degree in dental hygiene from the Utah College of Dental Hygiene in 2011, and graduated summa cum laude. Amber is passionate about helping all of her patients reach optimal oral health and getting to know them on a personal level. Amber attends several classes each year to stay current on all new dental treatments and procedures for her patients. When she is not behind the chair, Amber is at home with her sweet girls. She stays active by running, doing CrossFit, and spending time outdoors. She also enjoys organizing things and, when she gets the chance, she loves to read!
Mindy joined our team in June 2017, for the second time. She earned her Associates Degree in dental hygiene at Salt Lake Community College in 1997, and was awarded the Golden Scaler, the highest recognition in the clinical setting. Mindy worked at Gunnerson Dental from 1997 until 2000 when she moved out of state. Shes expressed her excitement to rejoin a team of excellent clinicians and professionals. Mindy is passionate about oral health education and in helping her patients set goals to obtain their optimal oral health. Mindy has been married for over 20 years and has 5 amazing children. She loves the simple things in life: family, friends, laughter, and singing. She also enjoys biking, hiking, camping, cooking and gardening. She stays active by training and competing in triathlons.
Jayme joined our team in September 2017. She graduated from the MATC Dental Assisting program in 2001 and has loved the dental field ever since! She is passionate about making a change in how people smile! If you need a reservation she is the one to call! Jayme has a fun, contagious energy and loves working with people. Jayme is funny, outgoing and keeps us all smiling! When Jayme is not busy at work, she is a mom of two beautiful girls. She is passionate about her family and friends, loves being outdoors, listening to music and enjoys a good movie. Plus, Jayme is a self proclaimed foodie just ask her!
Lexie became a member of our team in Summer 2020. She previously worked as a CNA for 5 years. Helping people has always been her passion so when an opportunity at Gunnerson Dental in Payson, UT came up to help people in a new way, Lexie was excited for the change and new experience. Lexie is a small town girl who was raised on camping so the mountains and forest have a huge place in her heart. She loves to spend her free time out in nature with family. Ever since I can remember I have been very passionate about helping and caring for others.
Tina joined our team in April 2019. Her love for people is what drove her into health care. Tina enjoys helping individuals make a financial plan to reach optimal health. I love building strong connections with patients and seeing the change in their confidence and smiles. Tina is also a huge crafter; sewing, scrapbooking, you name it!
Caroline is one of the newest members of our team. She became a member of our team in Spring of 2021. Caroline is excellent with numbers and enjoys using her skills to help our patients get the most of their dental benefits. If you have a question about your insurance, she is the one to ask!
Jess has been involved with the office for many years. She officially became part of the team in August 2017 after completing her Disney Internship in Florida. Her bright smile and warm demeanor is the first thing you see when you come into the office. She uses her excellent guest service and good humor to make every patients experience with our Payson office a good one. Jess is passionate about dance, music, and the outdoors! She spends her time away from work out in nature with her new little family. Shes a lover of Coca-Cola but sometimes youll catch her with a Mango Green Tea.
Tricia is not only our amazing CFO, but Dr. Gunnersons beautiful wife. She works hard in and out of the office to make sure we are doing the most we can for our patients and the community of Payson, Utah. I love learning new things and am always studying something. I enjoy being outdoors whether skiing, boating, camping, hiking, or going to the beach. Reading is my favorite at home thing to do.

We had a great experience at Gunnerson Dental! The atmosphere is clean and professional and the staff is kind and welcoming. Dr. Bradford was wonderful! He has a great bedside manner making you feel comfortable, even for my kids who don't like going to the dentist! He takes the time to explain things so you actually know what is going on and the best course to take care of any problems. We will definitely be returning patients!!!

I have found a very comfortable facility to maintain my dental hygiene I thought! 1st visit was a routine cleaning and initial exam which would include X-rays. Service performed with all insurance being presented at the beginning of the interview process. Procedures completed with only 1 X-ray not covered by insurance. X-ray was submitted to my insurance for $400.00. My insurance denied the charge for $400.00 and I was charged for the X-ray. I was charged $100.00 for the X-ray instead of $400.00 that was submitted to my insurance for. Scheduled 2nd cleaning for about 6 months later. 2nd cleaning the hygienist was wonderful and was the same hygienist I had for the 1st cleaning. Made it a little more comfortable. The facility it's self is very comfortable and relaxing for a dentists office. Had contacted the office prior to my 2nd visit to make sure that my insurance would cover what they had planned for procedures to be performed. Day of appointment I arrived and was informed that my insurance benefits had gained some benefits. As the cleaning procedure started I was informed that they had a procedure to help reduce plaque by the hygienist. She told me a price and a little details of the procedure. Had me sign a form and completed the cleaning. At the end of the procedure I had 2 of the financial clerks come in the room while I was still seated and tell me that I owed $284.00 for today's cleaning and wanted about $800.00 more for procedures that they wanted to also perform. Wanted me to give them a credit card at that moment to pay. Now mind you that I had called week or before to see what I would possibly have as out of Pocket expense. Knowing already what procedure was planned they would know what the charged would be? NO! That's not how they do things..... One part I did not provide yet is that Gunnerson dental Does Not Except Medicaid or State health benefits but if you have supplemental insurance to support state health assistance Gunnerson dental financial department will strip your benefits from your policy with a SMILE! I even went in the office to ask for some explanation and got a smile and the offer to pay balance within 3 months. Really? Now in between my 1st cleaning and 2nd I did go to another dentist. Had 1 root canal, 3 fillings and a complete deep cleaning. My insurance has covered each and every procedure. Gunnerson did txt me after my 2nd cleaning after I asked directly that they were only billing my United Healthcare and Does not recognize Medicaid or Medicare. Do not want to judge but with reading some of the other reviews might be a regular method that they observe. They only provide limited information until patients are in the chair to where they are almost tied down into obligating the patient to a bill or possible inflated charge or charges. Seems like from some of the comments X-rays have a more open range for them to charge. I think it's time to start asking others questions to some of these different insurance companies that Gunnerson Dental have submitted claims to? Being everyone is a separate case no one reviews these cases as a group? Maybe it's time for those who have questions we all Unite and ask Why?

Dr. Gunnerson and his team has just been great to work with! I'm almost done with the weaning process and over the last 15 weeks, I've noticed an overall improvement in my jaw. The biggest improvement that gets me emotional and excited is how much more balanced I am! If you suspect any TMJ/Sleep Apnea problems, consider a consultation with Dr. Gunnerson in Utah county.

I had a huge silver filling from old dental work that was very sensitive and achy.. I was able to see Doctor Gunnerson who explained to me my tooth had fractures due to the old silver filling and due to the cracks and the size of the filling my tooth structure being compromised I would need an onlay. I have never had anything other then fillings so to say I was unsure was an understatement. Dr Gunnerson was very understanding and answered all my questions making me feel much more comfortable. I was actually able to be seen that day and have the filling removed and replaced with a medicated filling to help get me out of pain and have my tooth calm down before my onlay. When I was in for my onlay I was nervous due to it being more then a filling, the assistant and Doctor Gunnerson were very understanding and helped me relax and again answered all my questions. I will never go anywhere else again the way they care about you and helping you is by far the best I've ever seen! Plus my onlay looks beautiful and you would never know I had anything done it looks so perfect and matches perfect with my other teeth! Five star experience for sure!!! I will continue with all my dental needs here for sure!

I have suffered from migraines my entire life and have tried everything. I saw the video on the SPG injection for migraine treatment and received the injection 5 days ago and have been migraine free since. I am so grateful that I did this. To wake up every morning without a headache has changed my life.

Kids went in to get there cavities filled, and I was very impressed on how well they did! The staff supplied some blankets and a movie for the kids to watch which made them very comfortable and content throughout the visit. Also they were both done within an hour with the two dentist on duty. Great experience!

I had a very positive experience today! The front office is very personable and makes me feel like VIP when I walk in the door. As for Dr. Bradford, I couldn't ask for a better doctor! Gunnerson Dental really is to notch and worth my 5 stars.

I had a great experience for my regular teeth cleaning at Gunnerson Dental. Sydney did such a good job on the cleaning and they use the newest equipment. I always like the feel of my teeth after they are cleaned and polished.

I'm speechless. I'm honestly blown away by the experience I had here. I scheduled an appointment due to some jaw pain and sleep problems, and I can honestly say that everything from the receptionist to the last step heading out of the office was a 5 star experience. The Dr combines the right amount of humor and professionalism, which makes you not only feel comfortable, but relaxed enough to understand what is happening. I loved how their team was nice and kind, and very friendly. That's the perfect example of a business that makes you want to share with your friends and family!

I go here for my whole families dental needs. Just got my teeth whitened. My teeth weren't terribly yellow before but I wanted to make my teeth fresher and brighter looking. Job well done to gunnerson dental and his fantastic staff!
