Hi, my name is Dr. Arne Gundersen. People usually want to know about someone they choose as a dentist because most people feel very vulnerable receiving dental treatment. They want someone they trust and who feels safe to them.

To tell you a little about my background, I grew up in a dentists home:my dad was a dentist. However, he also raised Polled Hereford cattle as a hobby. Growing up, I enjoyed working and adventures on the farm. I played soccer and enjoyed hiking and biking. I had an artistic flair, and enjoyeddrawing, model building, painting, and singing.

I graduated fromOlympia High Schooland headed off to theUniversity of Washingtonas a pre-medical major, and concludedthose four years with a Bachelor of Science in microbiology/immunology. I quicklymarriedmy wonderful girlfriend Rose, and began to work in a biotechnology company in quality assurance.

My tendency to focus on details worked well in this new job. However, desiring to pursue Biblical studies and work more with people, I obtained a masters degree in ministry fromPepperdine Universityand graduated from an internship in campus ministry in Seattle.

Another transition occurred, and Rose and I started a family with our first daughter, Anthea. Deciding to create stability for our family, I stayed in Seattle and landed a job with the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Again, working in a lab doing DNA isolation and matching bone marrow donors to recipients for bone marrow transplantation, I was able to usemy attention to detail to achievequality results.

Yearning to work more directly with patients, I began to search for other options where I could use my science knowledge, my artistic abilities, my attention to detail, and my desire to serve people. This brought me ultimately to my decision to pursuedentistry. In 1995, I entered dental schoolalready having two childrenand finished in 1999 with a third child just born. Upon graduation, we moved to Olympia where I joined my dad in his dental practice in Tumwater.

It has been a blessing to beable to work directly with people now in many capacities, and servetheir dental needs. Although running any business is hard work, it has been rewarding to see the benefits we have brought so many patients. Those that particularly stand out forme are the patients we have helped overcome their dental fears, those weve enabled to smile more broadly because they are not ashamed of their teeth, and those we have helped gradually restore their oral function and beauty over time as they have been financially able to proceed.

Invisalign has particularly added a great treatment for our patients. It has been especially enjoyable for me recently becauseI am able to help young and old improve their smiles by a means that I believe is more manageable than traditional wire braces.Another new technology that I am really excited about is our 3D scanner.This technology improves the accuracy of fit for our crowns, Invisalign aligners, night guards, and snore guards, while improving the patient experience by avoiding the use of messy impressions.

To keep uptodate with trending technology andmake sure I provide the best care for my patients, I pursue continuing dental education every year. I may be a little slow grabbing onto something new (my cautious nature), butI believe this benefits my patients because I tend to use things that have a proven track record.

Doing things with integrity is also very important to me, so I seek to communicate well and authentically with all thepeopleour business interacts with, whether it be our patients, vendors, or insurance companies.

My Wife & I do not admit this lightly, as we loved and personally knew our previous Dentist (Dr Meyers) who was a tremendous artist Dentist, but now retired. This was my fourth visit to this office. All of my experiences there have been great, & this one was no exception. Debbie has been my caregiver for my last 3 visits. She couldnt be more personable or conscientious!

I recently had my 6 mo check up with Kari. Everything was spotless, everyone masked, and I was temp checked as we went to the back room. Kari is very thorough and does such a great job with cleaning and polishing. Dr Arne finished up the exam. As always, everyone was very professional and friendly.

I have to have my teeth cleaned four times a year due to health issues that contribute to plaque build-up. I used to dread cleanings until I found Gundersen Dental Care. The dentist and hygenists are very knowledgeable, professional, and up to speed on the latest treatments. Kerry cleans my teeth, and you could not ask for a kinder, gentler hygenist! She is very professional and knowledgeable. I have a lot of recession, and she does everything she can to make me comfortable. Never had a poor experience! Im so glad I was introduced to this place 5 years ago! Kari (sp?) is a gem of a hygienist and Dr. Gunderson is proficient in his craft! Every moment from walking in the door makes me look forward to my visits.

I had a very hard time with Anxiety in the chair. Kari has me sitting still and feeling good about dental visits. So good I can get the extra cleaning I really need and have been afraid to sit still for. Dr. Arne is conscientious and very good at his work. The tidy professional office is also convenient. Dr. Gundersen is very kind as well is all his staff. I really dislike going to the dentist, as do most people, but the kindness of the staff always puts me at ease. They offer payment plans if you have to have expensive work done and can't pay right away.

Everybody here is competent, cheerful, conscientious and thorough.Ive been with them for 40 years, and the care is excellent, painless, and uses new technology. Conversation is limited in a dental chair, but I get a lift from the conversations Ive had, and am always impressed with their engagement and interest.

My first experience at the Gundersen clinic was outstanding. Over the phone and in person customer service was excellent. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. I appreciated the extent of Dr. Gundersen 's exam and the folks who assisted. The hygienist who clean my teeth was friendly, careful, and thorough. I also appreciated the matter-of-fact manner in which my results were shared with me. They were prioritized to what needed to be done first, etc. I did not feel like someone was trying to 'upscale' for services I did not need. This has not always been experience in dental offices.

Ive been a Certified Dental Assistant since graduating from South Puget Sound Community College in 1990. Each year I take multiple continuing education courses to keep my certification current and because I enjoy learning.

As a dental hygienist, I focus on preventing disease to protect teeth, gums, and my patients total health. In addition to treating patients directly by providing quality services in cleaning their teeth, I perform oral healthcare assessments, oral cancer screening, and patient education on home care. I am certified in CPR/BLS training and continue to further my knowledge through yearly CE courses in order to provide patients with the utmost care. My favorite part of my job is making a difference with my patients. I love seeing them succeed by encouraging and helping them achieve their best oral health.

I graduated in 1993 from Pierce College in Lakewood Washington with an associates degree in applied science. In 2009, I joined the Gunderson Dental Care team with 16 years of experience in dental hygiene. I love being a part of our team. We work exceptionally well together with high respect for one another. Our team provides caring and exceptional dental care with our patients and we strive hard every day to make our patients dental visits with us as enjoyable as possible.

I am married to a wonderful man, have a daughter who lives in Glasgow, Scotland, and a son who is a senior at Capital High School. On my off time, when Im not at my sons sport events, I enjoy traveling, boating, hiking, biking, snow skiing, and staying fit by living a healthy lifestyle through healthy eating and exercise. I love spending time with family and friends. I am very blessed to have them in my life!

I spend my days working one-on-one with each patient. While I am scaling and polishing their teeth, taking digital films, and administering anesthetic, I talk with them about oral hygiene. Its important a person understands why they need to keep their mouth healthy, and how to do so. When a patient returns for a recall visit, and I see a healthy smile, Im thrilled.

Ive been working as a dental hygienist since 2000, following my graduation from Oregon Health Sciences University with a BS in Dental Hygiene. I live in Tumwater with my husband, daughter and son, and our rescue dog. My free time is spent shuttling my children to various activities, and attempting to sneak in time to relax. I grew up in Oregon and we frequently visit family there.

Ive been with Gundersen Dental Care since 2005, and have worked in the dental field for more than 15 years. Prior to working in oral healthcare, I was in the medical field, concentrating on Medical DME, Medical billing, and Medical IME. My degree was awarded at Eton College of Technology, in 1999.

My husband and I have been married for 24 years, and we have two sons. My husband is an engineer and a high school soccer coach. Im a true soccer mom, with my life organized around watching the three men in my life play soccer. My sons are also involved in other sports. When I have the time, I enjoy being with friends, hiking, and lounging on a warm beach.

I have always been a social butterfly so I thrive on positive conversations and interacting with our patients whether that means discussing scheduling, questions regarding care, or finances. I knew even in high school that I wanted to work in the Dental field, so After I graduated from Tumwater in 2014 I started as a dental assistant in 2015 after graduating from Everest in early 2015. I just recently moved to the front office of Gundersen Dental care in 2019 after being Dr. Arnes Assistant for 2 years. So sometimes you might see me in the back as a fill in or taking a payment at the front! You just never know where I will be, but I promise youll see me around!

In my off time from work, I am a wife and a mom I enjoy spending as much time with my Son as possible and going on adventures. My husband and I have been together since we were 15 years old, and got married by Elvis in Vegas December 8th 2019! I also very much enjoy cooking and traveling!
