Dr. Joesaar is a Colorado native and Boulder Resident of 23 years. He grew up in the mountains around Central City and graduated from Gilpin county High School. He then attended Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood springs, getting a degree in Graphic Arts; then Metropolitan State University for a Bachelors degree in Sociology. He worked for several years in various fields but wasnt satisfied. However, on one particular night in December he had an epiphany and knew that dentistry was his calling. He realized that the profession combined all the things that he loves; helping people, sculpture, science and working with his hands. He enrolled at the University of Colorado to finish his Biology degree and then his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2002.
Living in Boulder, Dr. Joesaar bought a practice in Arvada which grew and thrived for the next nine years. He also got married and had babies. As their lives expanded, Dr. Joesaar understood that he needed to leave the Arvada practice and come back to Boulder.

Harald Joesaar, DDS, gets my business, hands down. When I was a new patient (was waiting to get a cleaning but due to COVID, did not get in when I scheduled--no fault of theirs!) but I had a cavity filling fall out. Dr. Joesaar came in specially for me to help fill it with a temp until I could get in for a real appointment. He did such a great job on it--(it was done as well as a real filling, without his assistants nonetheless!), and was there for me when I needed his expertise. I will forever appreciate the kindness. I highly recommend this dental office--the doctor really cares and is excellent at his practice. Every single time I need anything done, he makes sure it is done absolutely correctly. If I ever need to fix a bite issue or anything, he will work to make sure I have everything feeling great. I can't recommend him enough.

Everyone at Gunbarrel Family Dentistry is so kind and genuinely cares about you. I am sensitive to pain when getting cleaning/whitening done and they are so patient and check in with me as they work. Highly recommend for dentistry and for Invisalign.

I've been going to Gunbarrel Family Dentistry for years and have always had excellent experiences with them. The entire staff is caring and thoughtful. Recently I had an old filling come out overnight, and they squeezed me into their schedule the very next morning for a new filling. I'd happily recommend them to friends and family.

I used to never look forward to going to the dentist until I started going to Gunbarrel Family Dentistry, "Family" being the key word here! My second visit - all of the staff remembered who I was and personal information about me. I was blown away that they remembered me let alone remembered things about me. I have always felt so welcomed and taken care of by everyone that I could never go anywhere else! I know that Gunbarrel Family Dentistry is run with great integrity! My teeth are in great hands!

I must be honest, I love my dentist! I used to be nervous going to any dental appointment, but going to Gunbarrel Family Dentistry feels like going to see friends. They get to know you, they care, they help - every single time. Today, I had my first crown put in. Big deal? Not at all. In and out within 2 hours. If anyone reading this is looking for a new dentist, look no more.

This is the highest rating given by me to any dentist I have ever seen. I have been morbidly afraid of everyone in this profession! But Dr. Joesaars and his incredible staff may change that feeling and my rankings for Gunbarrel Family Dentistry in the future. This is a highly skilled dentist. Not only is he technically skilled but he is also adept at explaining, step-by-step, what his treatment plan will be and what you, as a patient, may expect. . He cares about his patients and their needs no matter how absurd or silly their feelings may seem. Most importantly, Dr. Joesaars. LISTENS using every bit of information you give him to produce the best outcome. I am now a believer!

One of the best dental experiences I've had. Dr Joesaar's attention to detail was fantastic. I felt no pain and my loose filling (from another practice) was fixed quickly and efficiently. Kriti was a wonderful dental hygienist too - extremely professional!

I have truly enjoyed going to this dentist. I have felt comfortable from visit #1. Once they were able to re-open after the pandemic, all the new changes in cleaning, sanitizing, and scheduling made me feel like they had my health as their top priority. They are fantastic. Definitely recommend!!
