Dental crowns are restorations on the teeth which reinforce severely damaged teeth. Crowns are used to repair teeth that have cracked/broken or offer protection and strengthen a tooth that has suffered extensive damages. After a root canal therapy, a tooth crown is used to reinforce the tooths strength. They are important since they restore your teeth functions fully, safeguard your teeth from further damage and improve your smile.

The dentist determines the crown placement procedure based on the time set for the process. The procedure for a tooth crown can be either a multi-day or same-day procedure. A multiday procedure requires two visits to the dentists office. On the first visit, the dentist examines the tooth and prepares it for crowning. An impression of the tooth and surrounding teeth is made and sent to the lab for the crown to be made. A temporary crown is put over the tooth for protection. On the second visit, the dentist cements the lab-made crown to the patients tooth.

On the other hand, asame-day procedurerequires just one visit to the dentist. A digital picture of your teeth is taken and used to create a crown as you wait. The new crown is cemented to the affected tooth.

A crown can last between five and fifteen years, depending on the crowns type and the care given to the crown. Pure porcelain and pure ceramic crowns are more natural-looking but are not as strong as metal or porcelain fused to metal crowns. Pure resin crowns are not long-lasting, but gold crowns last the longest. After getting a crown, dentists advise patients on caring for the tooth so that the crown lasts long.

Teeth crowns vary in price based on the materials used in making the crown and the size of the tooth requiring a crown. Gold crowns are the most expensive, followed by porcelain crowns. Crowns made of a metal alloy are cheaper. Extensive prep work like a dental implant or root canal done by the dentist before putting in a crown may cause the treatment cost to rise. At Gulf Coast Dental ,our dentist will discuss the types of crowns available for your dental needs and their cost.

I always share with other people I know the bad experiences I had from another dentist in Pace and how it made me switch. What a blessing it was to be referred to youby a friend. I have teeth & eye issues/phobias and this dental office is compassionate to my feelings and considerate with my concerns/fears/questions. Customer service and cleanliness is impeccable! This makes it well worth the drive to Pensacola from our Chumuckla home or my place of work in Pace. (Note: I've had incorrectly done crowns coreected & regular cleanings for a year now and have had NO PROBLEMS or injuries at all.)

New to the area, I needed to find a new dentist. My dad is a retired periodontist, and I'm 60, so this is not my first rodeo, but it is stressful to find new practitioners you like! I lucked out with Dr. Strong and Maylene Carr, RDH at Gulf Coast Family Dentistry! The hygienist did a thorough cleaning and took xrays, and a couple of old fillings I knew needed replacing stood out. The margins on one were beginning to show, and the other was crumbling. I scheduled the re-fillings for my two front teeth for a week later and just completed that appointment. Rissa and Dr. Strong did an excellent job! I feel like I have had cosmetic dentistry (for $67 with my insurance)! My front teeth haven't looked this good in years. Also, they accommodated my recurring vertigo and tooth sensitivity in thoughtful, effective ways. It's been a while since I've actually had any dental work to speak of, and this was such a pleasant experience with an excellent outcome! Thanks GCFD! You've got a happy new client!

My experience at Gulf Coast Family Dentistry was amazing!! Dr. Strong was very patient with me being that I was so timid and scared of dental work. Elizabeth was able to get me and my husband in at the same time for our appointments. Everyone in the office made us feel very comfortable while we were there!! I would recommend Dr. Strong and Gulf Coast Family Dentistry to anyone!!

First of...I'm latina with a thick accent. One of the workers there treat me weird (not bad but weird). So, 2 years ago they did a root canal and when I went 2 weeks later to put the crown it wasn't heal. They told me that sometimes some people take more time than others so told me to come back in two more weeks. During that I had to move to Virginia so I went to a dentist there because I was still having pain and they found out that when they did the root canal, they broke my mular so that was the reason it was not healing. At the end, they had to take the mular out so I spent $400 in a procedure that was not done properly. Wrote this now cuz it still hurts that I paid that amount of money for a procedure that was not done properly and they never checked what was actually going on.

The front of the house namely "liz" may not be questioned as she interests being yelled at.she will also play games with your insurance company. Not sure why she still has a job as the front of a business, they are fired from my position. Sad that people in public relations have 0 people skills.
