Dentistry is a form of artistic expression as much as it is a product of evidence-based treatment modalities. It is amazing how a dental procedure can not only transform someones mouth, but also their entire being. I am lucky to be in a profession that provides a product that transcends its intended form and function. A persons smile is a key element of facial beauty. I strive to enhance and complement a patients appearance through their smile, taking into account facial proportions and matching ones smile to his or her personality. There is nothing more rewarding than the change in self-esteem that accompanies a cosmetic rehabilitation.
Upon completion of dental school, I pursued additional training to become a specialist in Prosthodontics. A Prosthodontist is a dental specialist who spends three years of rigorous training after dental school to become an expert in tooth replacement this can range from a single tooth to multiple teeth, or all of the teeth in the mouth, also known as full mouth reconstruction. My scope of practice focuses on prosthetic, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. I also provide primary care dentistry to attend to your every need.
Dr. Allen L. Oshana is a Farmington native and has practiced general dentistry in Guilford for over 30 years. As a resident of Guilford, he has enjoyed meeting and helping patients with their dental needs.
Dr. Oshana was the first Farmington resident to graduate from the Health Center. After graduating from dental school, he then completed a general practice residency in the United States Air Force at Wright Patterson Air Force base in Ohio. Following residency, Dr. Oshana served at Randolph Air Force Base as the base oral surgeon and also provided prosthodontic care for two years. Following active duty he served as a dental officer at Westover Air Reserve Base in Chicopee MA for seventeen years and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2003. Dr. Oshana later returned to the School of Dental Medicine to serve as an associate clinical professor in fixed prosthodontics from 1982-1984.
A prosthodontist, like Dr. Lomartire, is a dentist who has completed dental school plus three additional years of advanced training and education in an ADA-accredited prosthodontic graduate program. They specialize in treating and handling dental problems that involve restoring a missing tooth or multiple missing teeth.A prosthodontist is highly trained in cosmetics, dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures, and more.
Essentially, prosthodontists are THE recognized experts when anything needs to be replaced in your mouth. This can range from a single tooth, multiple teeth, or all teeth and gums in the mouth. While many other dentists can do some of these treatments, prosthodontists are the specialists dedicated to this type of care.
Prosthodontists have advanced training in restoring and replacing teeth. Prosthodontists are considered the leaders of the dental treatment plan. They regularly lead teams of general dentists, specialists, and other health professionals to develop solutions for your dental needs.
In the spirit of social distancing and in an effort to minimize physical contact and maximize the safety of our patients, we will collect all estimated portions prior to treatment. Contactless payment by phoning in your credit card is preferred.
Before any treatment, you will receive a treatment plan which will include a breakdown of all applicable fees, and we will inform you of all costs before treatment is administered. Charges are payable at the time of treatment.
We try to make it easy and convenient to fit dental care into your budget. For your convenience, we accept cash, check, and most major cards, including VISA, American Express, MasterCard, and Discover.
Please remember that you are fully responsible for all fees charged by this office regardless of your insurance coverage and payment is due at time of service. We will send you a monthly statement. Most insurance companies will respond within four to six weeks. Please call our office if your statement does not reflect payments made by your insurance company during that time period. Any remaining balance after your insurance has paid its portion is your responsibility. Your prompt remittance is appreciated. We can make arrangements for a monthly payment plan, but that must be implemented prior to any actual procedures.
As a courtesy to you, we will bill your insurance company and track claims. Please keep us informed of any changes to your insurance plan. You are responsible for the fees charged by our office, no matter what your insurance coverage may be. Most insurance companies should respond to the claim within four to six weeks. Any remaining cost is your responsibility.

My experience with Dr. Amalie Lomartire and her staff has been wonderful. They are all kind, considerate, and welcoming, as well as professional. Dr. Lomartire Is very through in that she tells you exactly what she is going to do, answers any questions or concerns . A true professional with such a warm personality, you feel at ease, and never rushed. She truly loves what she does as I have realized that since the day I first met her. I would recommend her highly for any dental needs.

The providers and staff at Guilford Dental Arts are outstanding. If you are looking for anything from routine dental care, crowns, veneers, bridges, dental implants, dentures or a new full set of beautifully crafted cosmetic teeth....this is the place you want to go. Dr Amalie Lomartire is a Prosthodontist and a Top Dentist. There are only a couple of these highly qualified individuals in the entire state of Connecticut! She went through three years of additional dental school training to qualify as a Prosthodontist...and was selected for this training out of thousands and thousands of candidates. She has an eye for perfection and is dedicated to achieving the best possible results for her patients. She takes the time necessary to do everything the right way....no shortcuts here. She also utilizes state of the art equipment and the highest quality materials. Don't spend your time going anywhere else.... She is my dentist and also did outstanding restorative work on my daughter after a traumatic dental accident.

In our pandemic anxiety-filled era returning to the dentist was fraught with great trepidation for me. But, from the moment I scheduled a months delayed cleaning to the follow up appointment for a crown replacement, I could not have felt more comfortable and at ease. The online updates helped me understand all the behind the scenes prep work of the entire staff to make my visits safe. The staff guided me through every step with clear information, kindness and sensitivity to my questions and concerns. The procedures were done with the utmost skill, professionalism and courtesy. Fantastic staff who truly care about their patients!! I chipped my front tooth, and Dr. Lomartire was able to put in a veneer that looked EXACLY like my old one, and extremely fast. She fit me for a short term replacement the day after the incident and had the permanent tooth done within a week. Everybody is kind, caring and compassionate. I highly recommend Guilford Dental Arts for all of your dentistry needs!

She and her staff are patient and compassionate. The equipment is state of the art and is used to diagnose thoroughly, collaborate with ancillary treaters, and most importantly, educate me on the state of my teeth. Dr. Lomartire found important issues that other dental practices missed. She's referred me to ancillary providers who share her philosophy and standards of excellence. She was sensitive and helpful around the fact that my dental costs are entirely out of pocket. I highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Lomartire replaced one of my molars last year with a crown. I never went through any dental work like this before, and although I was nervous, Dr. Lomartire calmed my nerves by talking me through each step of the process. Her calm demeanor immediately put me at ease and made my first major dental procedure go very smoothly. I look forward to working with Dr. Lomartire in the future on all procedures I might need.

Dr. Lomartire is an excellent doctor. The exacting quality of her work coupled with her warm bedside manner over my 6 month dental implant process was truly impressive. My implants look so natural and like my other teeth it's remarkable. Any time I had a question or felt something didn't feel quite right, she saw me immediately and never made me feel needy or neurotic (which sometimes comes naturally to me ;). Whenever I asked, she always patiently translated otherwise complex clinical things in a way that made me trust her work. I whole-heartedly recommend her to anyone in search of a highly-skilled, direct and friendly prosthodontist--a rare commodity in today's medical world as far as I'm concerned.
