Dr. Carisse Corns is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. Dr. Corns grew up in Palm Springs, California. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree and Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Southern California. Throughout dental school, Dr. Corns was actively involved in outreach programs for children. Through such programs, she provided dental care to children in underserved areas of California, Belize, Costa Rica and Mexico City. It was through these experiences that Dr. Corns discovered her passion for working with children. After dental school Dr. Corns chose to advance her education by specializing in pediatric dentistry in a two-year residency program at the University of Southern California and Miller Childrens Hospital in Long Beach, CA.
In 2010, Dr. Corns met her husband Robert Corns, an endodontist in Valparaiso and Merrillville, at a dental conference in Chicago. She then moved to Northwest Indiana in July of 2012 and they married in 2013.
Dr. Corns feels truly blessed to be doing something she loves every day. She spends her free time with her family and enjoys traveling, reading, running, and cooking. Dr. Corns and her husband are both avid sports fans and love cheering for their favorite teams, especially the Chicago Bears and USC Trojans!

Wow, my child started to go here 5 years ago, because of covid he hasn't gone the last two years,(they canceled our appointments) now they have told me that they will not see him because he hasn't been there in over two years and that everyone that hasn't been seen in over 2 years would be a new costumer and they are not taking new costumes at this time. They really just seemed to not care at all about your kids.

While Growing Smiles has the advantage of helping kids feel at ease since they watch TV during appointments, they have a severe problem with booking too many patients. As a parent of children who have been patients for the last 5 years, the staff has regularly been extremely unhelpful about fitting in my kids for regular checkups. I recently asked to move my son's upcoming appointment to the next available time slot and was told this was impossible. They are booked for the next 7 months, and their scheduling does not allow to book beyond that.

Dr. Corns and her staff are always incredibly friendly, patient and gentle. They have wonderful bedside manners, which is important as children are often scared of the dental environment. I'm continually impressed with each visit.

The staff is always amazing. My children are always treated very kindly. As a mother I always feel like my kids get the best treatment possible every time. I would highly recommend anyone to bring their kids to growing smiles.

Dr. Corns and her staff make going to the dentist enjoyable for the dental anxious. Every detail is for comfort and confidence, from the lay out of the office, to the colors and furnishings, and the obviously high level of training displayed by the whole office.

Honestly the best group of dentists and people around. Even with how swamped they are, they made emergency accommodations for my son's cracked tooth. Amazing talent and bedside manner!

Dr. Corns and her staff are excellent. My 2 young sons had some major work to be done. Dr. Corns made both of them feel comfortable. Her staff helped them relax. Not to mention they work so quickly! The boys were nervous and the patience and understanding made them (and myself) feel so much better. I highly recommend Growing Smiles.

Always very friendly. They are great with my kids. We have been going here for several years. My oldest had a crown put on last year. Dr. Corns explained to my daughter exactly what was going to happen. We love that they all take time to explain and are comforting to our girls.

Wouldn't take my kids to anyone else. Dr Corns is great with kids and speaks to them in a way that makes them totally comfortable. All of her staff is great!

I cannot thank Dr. Corns and her staff enough for making our sons first dentist appointment not only fun and comfortable, but memorable as well! When we entered the office my 5 yr old insistently gravitated towards a kid friendly gaming area while he waited but also had the options of watching tv, reading or playing with toys. Upon entering the patient room, he was able to pick a movie to occupy him and ease his worries while he got his teeth cleaned. The whole time, both Dr. Corns and staff continuously talked to our son on a level he could understand but also felt safe. When the appointment was finished, he received a special token for a prize on doing a great job :) I'm pretty sure that was his favorite part. I highly recommend Growing Smiles!!!!

Always such an amazing visit. My daughter, Lillian, has been going to Growing Smiles in Valparaiso for years and today her little brother had his first appointment with them. He was anxious about his first visit but everyone did such a great job making him feel welcome and like a "big kid". I wouldn't want my kid's to go anywhere else.

Very patient and mostly comforting with my little one. After all, it is a Peds dental office so patience is expected. I started taking my child to this office when she was 3yo based on a referral from a friend. Our experience has been good and we have no complaints. It's tough to fit elsewhere on their calendar if you're forced to reschedule and we considered moving to another dentist had they not been able to accommodate us but thankfully it worked out. It's a 4 star review simply because I don't think it's anything spectacular that a general dentist office couldn't accomplish. That's not a bad thing. They cater to kids and that's why I'll continue to take my little one to this office as long as they remain in Valpo.

The staff is always so great with my two boys. We have been coming since they were both one years old. We had a little misunderstanding about something in the beginning and I reached out to the staff. When I was contacted back, it was the actual dentist herself calling me after hours to explain and apologize. That is great customer service!
