Jamie L. Smith, DDS, MSDr. Jamie is a licensed and board certified specialist in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Jamie completed her dental training and pediatric dental residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. While in the pediatric residency program, Dr. Jamie served as Chief Resident. She also completed her masters degree in Oral Sciences, wherein she focused her research and thesis upon the dental health of Peorias special needs population. This research was personally rewarding, as Dr. Jamies brother is special needs and attended the local Peoria public schools.
Following her residency program, Dr. Jamie returned to her hometown of Peoria and began to practice. Her practice involves the care of her patients both in the office and hospital based setting, when appropriate. Dr. Jamie has privileges at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, Illinois which is where she takes patients who need dental care in a hospital based setting.
Dr. Jamie met her husband, Joshua, while they both studied at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. (Go Illini!) Dr. Jamie and Joshua live in the area with their four children, Chloe, Carter, Charlotte and Camille.
Dr. Jamie is an active member of the community. She is involved with the Childrens Hospital of Illinois (CHOI), volunteering her time with the NCCU Family Advisory Board. Dr. Jamie is also a committe chair for the Small Wonders Miracle Walk, which raises money for the benefit of the CHOI Neonatal Critical Care Unit. Dr. Jamie became passionately involved with these programs, as her daughter, Chloe, was a micro-preemie.
Dr. Jamie is a current board member with the Peoria Dental Society. She is also an active board member for the Hult Center for Healthy Living. Dr. Jamie also teaches pediatric dentistry to the dental residents at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
In 2016, Dr. Jamie was recognized as one of Peoria Magazines ' '40 Leaders Under 40'. Dr. Jamie and Growing Smiles have also been recognized as one of the Journal Star 's 'Best of the Best' in pediatric dentistry.
As a life-long resident of Peoria, Dr. Jamie feels a deep attachment to the local community. As a mother, she understands the concerns that parents and guardians face when bringing their child to the dentist. Dr. Jamie uses the skills she gained from her residency daily and is confident in her abilities to provide high-quality dental care for your child. Dr. Jamie loves to work with children, and feels very blessed to have a job she truly loves. As a pediatric dentist, Dr. Jamie looks forward to the opportunity to provide quality dental care to your child in the unique environment of her child friendly office.

We do focus on preventative care by educating our patients and their parents on proper oral hygiene. We discuss good nutrition, oral habits, dental trauma, and other dental needs. If restorative procedures are needed, our office environment and team make the experience as relaxed and easy as we can.
Dr. Jamie and her team are committed to making a childs dental visit as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We want each of our patients to get excited for their dental visits and countdown to the next one!

They let you wait for an hour, but wouldn't let you see doctor if you are few mins late.

This staff is fantastic. Truly patient and so great with kids! As long as you book appointments well in advance for their bi annual checkups then you are all set.

Great experience with my three year old! Everyone from the office staff to the hygienists, and of course Dr. Jamie were absolutely amazing! My daughter was very nervous and scared. Our hygienist, Somer, was so gentle and even asked if I wanted to give my daughter a break when she was getting upset. I will recommend this office to everyone. If you're questioning where to take your toddlers/young kids for their first appointments, call and schedule here ASAP!

After relying on state dental insurance for a number of years, when we finally obtained dental insurance through our jobs we were referred to this office. With the state insurance we had to travel all over Illinois to find someone that would work with our son, who not only has extensive work to be done but also some minor special needs. We had our first visit this week to Dr. Jamie. The entire visit went very very well. The staff was great, and no one gave me due grief for the way his dental status was. They saw what needed to be done and seemed happy to help. We left with options and felt very informed and empowered to make the needed medical decisions for our son. We were very pleased with our visit and are hopeful for the next few months! The office is very child friendly and my son really liked that. We were so pleased with our visit, that I also scheduled my daughters exam to be done in the next couple weeks. If you are looking for quality care in a fun, safe, kid friendly environment with knowledgeable, kind staff-- this is the place for your kiddos!!

I'm so glad our family found this office! Both of my kids had huge dental fears. Dr. Jamie and her staff made our kids comfortable from the moment we entered the office. Everything went really well and my kids were smiling by the end, they actually didn't want to leave. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

After being referred here by her normal dentist for some dental concerns I received a bill 4 months later. I was told that they do not use the exam by her normal dentist. So I was charged for this visit since my insurance (which is pretty good insurance and has additional/different rates for emergency etc.) doesn't cover a dentist charging for regular exams (yes the exact same ones she's been getting every 6 months) done weeks apart and doing nothing but tell me exactly what her regular dentist told me. No it was not me that requested this appointment to get a 2nd opinion or something like that, it was a referral from her regular dentist. Doctor seemed nice, but will not be back due to billing and other staff. Also they said they could charge me the regular office fee since me insurance did not pay the fee, which is completely false. Stuff is very miss informed.

My darling five year old fell into a piano and smashed 3 baby teeth upwards in his mouth. I called and they were able to get us in very quickly. Dr. Jamie and her team did a great job and reassured me about our next steps. I highly recommend them.
