Dr. Saleh (known as Dr. Zohra or Dr. Z to her younger patients) completed her undergraduate education at the University of Virginia in her hometown of Charlottesville with a Bachelor of Arts in biology and a minor in Spanish and attended Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry in Richmond, VA to complete her doctor of dental surgery.

After graduating from dental school, Dr. Saleh worked as a general dentist at a private practice for a year. But within a few months of working, she realized that she thoroughly enjoyed working with children and that pediatric dentistry was her true calling. Therefore, she decided to pursue this dream by moving to Ann Arbor, Michigan and obtaining her Master of Science in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.

Throughout her life, Dr. Saleh has been very passionate about giving back to the community. She has participated in multiple Mission of Mercy projects throughout her academic career. She has also participated in numerous Give Kids A Smile events throughout dental school and residency. She loves teaching and has taught refugee children in Charlottesville and has also served as a teaching assistant in dental school and residency.

Dr. Saleh is thrilled to be a part of the Growing Smiles Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics. In her spare time, Dr. Saleh loves to spend time with her fur baby, Zoe, and her friends. She also enjoys cooking, hiking, biking, working out, traveling, reading, and learning new languages. Guess and ask her how many languages she speaks! :)

I used to love this place. They're great with my kids.... BUT I have waited over 6 MONTHS to get my daughters procedure done! The last 3 months I have called 14 times and got the same response "I'll leave my manager a message." With NEVER a call back....Even after breaking down on the phone cause my 5 year old has been in pain! I have referred all of my friends and family's kids here.... My friends daughter got her procedure done within 2 months!.... So why so long for my daughter?! At this point, I'm ready to find a new dentist that will actually care....

First it was not a nice welcome walking in the door Second when we met with the orthodontist he was Quick and did not care to explain what was going on with my child all he cared about was going to the next patient. He told me my child needed surgery and a couple of teeth need to be pulled. I was asking questions to understand the future issues my child could have if I pulled his teeth to his assistant because I wanted to make sure to make the right decision. He came in after sometime and tried to rush me and make a decision to pull my child's teeth. It felt like he did not care about my concern and only about the money.

Absolutely horrible treatment by the Orthodontist (staff is wonderful). Yelled at my child because she tried to tell him that she was drowning. then scolded her again. No adult that is a professional should take out his anger issues on a child who was not able to breathe, EVER! As I've now heard from other local orthodontist offices, this isn't an isolated incident. DON'T TAKE YOUR CHILDREN THERE In response to your reply: Toni, you were in the room when I was having at the orthodontist. He never once attempted to apologize to my child nor admit that he was in the wrong. You do realize that he yelled at my daughter for trying to tell him that she couldn't breathe because water was flooding her nose, right? I get that you are once again trying to do damage control for this guy but you know that this isn't an isolated incident. During that same visit he humiliated one of the girls who works there as well; for asking a question. The guy is a loose cannon and definitely not anyone who should be working with children; or anyone for that matter. He's dangerous

Editing to add- unfortunately there was no rush to get my son the proper care here. I've continued the back and forth calls and am still not sure what's going on. I've now been pursuing dental work for my son with Growing Smiles since March and it's nearly September. He's had 4+ appointments in that time but the issues are still not resolved. There was a bit of a wait and some confusion with notes between offices here. After sorting a few things out I'm looking forward to working with Dr. Kareem to address my son's dental needs going forward.

Absolutely horrible and outrageous!! Recently moved here from Connecticut Went for a consult for my son mind you he has had braces a year already a year and a half including his expander and he only has 6 months left of treatment! That place wanted to start completely over take his braces off put new ones on and so forth treatment would still be 6 months and they wanted to charge me 5300 with 1600 down and 754 a month! So I'd be pretty much paying twice for 1 mouth!! Happy to say I found someone better my total cost is the amount of the down payment growing smiles wanted!

Office staff has been very kind and accommodating. We just got new dental insurance and can finally switch the kids to growing smiles. I have been wanting to take them here for years, as I have only heard great things. Edit: kids went and absolutely LOVED the staff and doctor! So happy we switched to Growing smiles. Kids are excited to go again! Thank you for making them feel so comfortable and being so patient!

Growing smiles is a great dentistry. They are professional and courteous ... My son had to get a lot of work done over the last year and they made him feel comfortable when he was nervous about the work that was being done. He now looks forward to going to the dentist. Thanks Growing Smiles!!

Absolutely love the staff and facility here! I have been taking my daughter here for almost 6 years. The drive is definitely worth the care! The front office staff are the absolute sweetest, Dr. Gibson and Ms. Miranda are phenomenal. My daughter is absolutely treated like a loved one, not just a patient! Thank you all for taking care of her so well!

Update: I have been taking my two sons here for years now. They make them super comfortable for their cleanings or any work they need done. All the staff are so welcoming and friendly. Super happy we did not have to wear our masks yesterday when we were there for the boys cleanings. Growing smiles pediatric dentistry is amazing. They make my kids feel safe and calm during their visits. They consult the parents for treatment before anything is done. They are great i refer them to everyone.

They are very professional and very good at deal with scared kids and explaining to them what they are doing. My daughter was scared out of her mind like most are and she now enjoys her time at the dentist. P.S. the stickers give them a lot of brownie points.

The professionalism and overall business structure is appalling. The original treatment plan was not followed because the doctor didn't have time to complete a filling on my son, which forced me to schedule another appointment, 4 weeks out. Then this appointment was cancelled due to a sick doctor. They have no doctors to fill in and then wanted me to to reschedule another 6 weeks out. They act like it isn't their problem. They send reminders about a charge for missing appointments, but offer nothing to compensate for a missed day of work, a 30 minute drive with gas prices over $5 a gallon AND a little boy who is now having a toothache from a now second delay on his filling. I am usually a very understanding person, but enough is enough. If you ask me it sure seems like they don't have the capacity to adequately treat the number of patients they have. I can't help but wonder, is this a love of dentistry and children or all about the money?

I have been taking both my boys to Growing smiles since they opened in Chesterfield and I will be sad when my boys outgrow them. They are always so welcoming. They treat my boys with respect and a smile every time. My boys don't ever fight me about going to the dentist. They make them feel comfortable and always answer any questions they may have.

I just want to give a shout out to growing smiles in Chesterfield. Dr. Z did an absolutely amazing job with my daughter with a procedure that she was extremely nervous with. I was very impressed how quick she was able to calm my daughter down and how wonderful she was during the whole procedure with her. Thank you Dr. Z for being there for us.

My daughter had a handful of cavaties (i am a new parents and spoil her and made my mistakes of course) and they had a anesthesia doctor fly in from california. This man put my daughter to sleep and looked like he was struggling to carry her. Then 5 minutes later i see him outside smoking a cigarette?! You are supposed to be supervising my unconscious kid and monitoring her not the ortho surgeons because they are not anesthesiologist professionals. Now lets get to the orthopedic surgeon that worked on my daughter, this woman had the nerve to rush me and my girlfriend out because my daughter just whined a little bit when she was probably scared because she didnt know what was going on. Oh and we were told that they would follow up with us and we never recieced a call, text, or email but when they wanted to set up the anesthesia and the teeth work they did not have any issues reaching out to us they only had issues when they told us theyd reach back out to us. I will not be going back here again and will find another orthopedic dentist for my child that actually cares about her and her teeth being healthy. These people obviously didnt care because if they did they would have followed up with us. Wouldn't recommend for first time parents or any parents with kids at all. Take your business elsewhere

Office staff is biased against divorced dads...I can pay the bill and be charged if mom doesnt bring my child but they refuse to let me make an appointment after paying thousands up front in full with 50 /50 custody.....

I've taken my two kids here for years. The staff is friendly, but my issue is with the treatments. My 5 year old has had two crowns and several cavities repaired here. I've asked for advice on how to prevent and it was just blamed on genetics. Recently, the office in Richmond told me he needed 2 crowns and a "baby root canal" and I asked for oral sedation like he has done previously. They said I'd have to go to the Chesterfield office for sedation. I did the consult and set up the appointment and they just called me THE DAY BEFORE to let me know they don't offer the oral sedation anymore. So I took my son to another pediatric dentist to get a second opinion. This dentist said he does not need crowns or a root canal. They said they can put caps on the teeth. No drilling required! He said he would only consider crowns off the decay was all the way to the nerve or if he was in pain. Based on that information, I can only guess that my son's previous crowns were unnecessary as well. The new dentist was also able to offer my advice on how to prevent cavities instead of blaming it on genetics. I'm an extremely disappointed and even sickened at this place. Why would you drill a child's teeth unless completely necessary??
