Being an orthodontist constantly has a positive impact on my life. The transformation I see patients go through during treatment is simply amazing. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work in a field I have a real passion for. I completed my undergrad studies in my hometown of Tucson at the University of Arizona, followed by training in dentistry and a specialization in orthodontics, which has given me the ability to provide my patients with the best quality of care.
I began my orthodontic training in July of 2003 at Saint Louis Universitys Center for Advanced Dental Education, regarded asone of the top programs in the nation. During my residency at SLU, I had the opportunity to work with some of the leading clinical orthodontists in the country. I graduated from Saint Louis University in December 2005 with a Master of Science in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and currently reside in Summerfield, North Carolina with my wife Gina and our two children, 3-year-old Zia and 8-month-old Zac. Free time is scarce with two small children, so we spend most weekends with our little ones!! Theres nothing like seeing them explore and discover new things. We know this time will go by fast so we want to enjoy every minute! We love to travel, cook, discover new restaurants in the area, and spend time outdoors. And during our very favorite time of year, otherwise known as football season, Ill be rooting for my Arizona Wildcats along with my other favorite team, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish! We love North Carolina and are so grateful we have been able to call it home for the last 4 years!
I am a native of Phoenix, AZ. and was raised in Tempe, AZ where I attended Arizona State University. I graduated ASU Summa Cum ladde with high honors and was thrilled to be accepted into University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine where I began my dental career. I was an active member of the ASDA while in dental school and participated in many outreach groups and programs. I graduated in the top of my class and continued my dental journey working as a private practitioner in Phoenix, AZ. With Orthodontics being my passion, I was excited to continue my education and began my Orthodontic residency at The University of Colorado. When I am not working, I enjoy running, hiking, doing yoga, and spending time with my family.
Im from a small town in the Florida Panhandle and grew up surrounded by the beautiful waters of the Emerald Coast. I went to college at Auburn University and the University of Louisville where I competitively cheered for their All Girl team and Team USA. After that I happily continued on to dental school in Louisville and then pursued orthodontics at the University of Colorado. I started dating my husband, Jason, in high school and we now have two daughters and a son. In our spare time we love to spend time outside hiking, playing all kinds of sports, and gardening. We are all so excited to become a part of this community and look forward to raising our family in the area!

I would give this place a 0 if it were an option. Save yourself time, aggravation, money and go somewhere else. I would never recommend someone who is dishonest and hurts patients. I have gone to Grinz for several years. Both my daughters used them many years ago and had good experiences. I started Invisalign with them in 2019. Dr Freytag was wonderful and knew what she was doing with Invisalign. When she and the other staff that had been there for years left it all went down hill. I was supposed to be in Invisalign for 15 months. I expressed to Dr Salim several times spacing issues on lower right side. She could never fix the issue. I decided in September 2021 I was done with treatment because it was way past the 15 month mark and felt they didn't know what they were doing. I went in to the Northwest office for them to remove attachments in September 2021 and my tooth was injured. Yajahira was the one taking attachments off. She was using a high speed drill and come to find out she is not licensed to do this, only licensed dentists are. I knew when she drilled into my tooth because it hurt badly. She stopped and said she needed to get another tool and never came back. Dr Salim came over 20 minutes later and I asked her she said I have sensitivity there. Upon looking at my tooth I found that they drilled some of my enamel away (see picture attached). Now both Dr Salim and Ziehmer are denying this happened.

I am so very happy with my experience at Grinz! Not only for myself but my 3 daughters who have also received the best care while getting braces! I feel so welcomed everytime I come in. The staff are always so friendly and have great memory on who their patients are. My sister got her braces done here and when I got my consultation for invisiline they remember her and remembered details my mom had told them about me. I definitely refer Grinz to everyone in my daily life who are thinking about getting their kids braces or other orthodontic decides.

We were recommended from my sisters friend to get her braces here and I'm so glad we found them! They are AMAZING! Everyone is so kind and everyone is always smiling! It was such a great experience from the very beginning to the very end! Now my youngest sister is going and getting her braces done here too! They work with you every step of the way and would answer all of our questions and concerns! And the best part is you get to experience a new found confidence with your new smile!

I love this place. My son gets his orthodontic work done here. I have worked with other orthodontist offices and this one by far is the best fit for my family. They are always very accommodating, punctual, professional and quick. All of these qualities are extremely important when you have a very busy and hectic life with 3 kids. I will be bringing all my kids here.

I love this Grinz Location. Everyone makes you feel so welcome as soon as you walk in and the service my daughter received was awesome. I will definitely be taking my other kids to Grinz especially to this location again.

I never thought I would of gotten braces at 48 until my wife finished treatment at GRINZ and her teeth looked amazing! They are very welcoming and accommodating whether it is financially or scheduling! Best in Tucson!
