Being an orthodontist constantly has a positive impact on my life. The transformation I see patients go through during treatment is simply amazing. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to work in a field I have a real passion for. I completed my undergrad studies in my hometown of Tucson at the University of Arizona, followed by training in dentistry and a specialization in orthodontics, which has given me the ability to provide my patients with the best quality of care.
I began my orthodontic training in July of 2003 at Saint Louis Universitys Center for Advanced Dental Education, regarded asone of the top programs in the nation. During my residency at SLU, I had the opportunity to work with some of the leading clinical orthodontists in the country. I graduated from Saint Louis University in December 2005 with a Master of Science in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.
I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona and currently reside in Summerfield, North Carolina with my wife Gina and our two children, 3-year-old Zia and 8-month-old Zac. Free time is scarce with two small children, so we spend most weekends with our little ones!! Theres nothing like seeing them explore and discover new things. We know this time will go by fast so we want to enjoy every minute! We love to travel, cook, discover new restaurants in the area, and spend time outdoors. And during our very favorite time of year, otherwise known as football season, Ill be rooting for my Arizona Wildcats along with my other favorite team, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish! We love North Carolina and are so grateful we have been able to call it home for the last 4 years!
I am a native of Phoenix, AZ. and was raised in Tempe, AZ where I attended Arizona State University. I graduated ASU Summa Cum ladde with high honors and was thrilled to be accepted into University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine where I began my dental career. I was an active member of the ASDA while in dental school and participated in many outreach groups and programs. I graduated in the top of my class and continued my dental journey working as a private practitioner in Phoenix, AZ. With Orthodontics being my passion, I was excited to continue my education and began my Orthodontic residency at The University of Colorado. When I am not working, I enjoy running, hiking, doing yoga, and spending time with my family.
Im from a small town in the Florida Panhandle and grew up surrounded by the beautiful waters of the Emerald Coast. I went to college at Auburn University and the University of Louisville where I competitively cheered for their All Girl team and Team USA. After that I happily continued on to dental school in Louisville and then pursued orthodontics at the University of Colorado. I started dating my husband, Jason, in high school and we now have two daughters and a son. In our spare time we love to spend time outside hiking, playing all kinds of sports, and gardening. We are all so excited to become a part of this community and look forward to raising our family in the area!

As their star patient, I can say that this place is absolutely amazing. The staff is the friendliest staff I have ever interacted with and they literally brighten my day every time I go in. The whole team seems very competent and knows exactly what they are doing. If you want to get braces then definitely get them here. No other place can compare!

I would highly recommend this Ortho office to everyone! 3 out of 4 of my kids have been seen here. Taylor at the front desk is always so nice and answers all our questions we may have.

We have 3 children + mom that have seen Dr. Ziehmer and Dr. Salim at both of the Grinz Tucson offices. Our oldest has completed her treatment and I can't say enough good things about the entire experience and the absolutely gorgeous outcome. Our son is currently approaching the end of his treatment, and mom has just braces on the top with a little more time to go. Our youngest needs to lose a few more teeth before she gets her braces but we will definitely continue with Grinz when that time comes. Their staff is wonderful, friendly, and accommodating. Dr. Ziehmer is a perfectionist, and it shows with the beautiful results he gets. Thank you!

We are so happy with our services at Grinz! We decided we wanted to have our teenager examined and assessed for braces in September 2021. I called to set an appointment and was immediately scheduled for just a few days after. Once we made it to the appointment and had him evaluated we were offered same day installation for his upper set and the bottom set was place 6 weeks later. I'm so impressed with the quick turn around for treatment. The staff is always so delightful to work with and very informative. I will recommend Grinz to anyone and everyone I can.

I've been with Grinz for over a year and I think the staff members are wonderful! When I got a mold done they reassured me because I was scared, and if I had a question they always answered. They are a wonderful and kind group of professionals.

(A review by a child) The best if not my most favorite orthodontist place, in my opinion, is certainly Grinz. First of all, their lobby is fantastic. The lobby isn't too overwhelming. It's comfortable and simple. Also, I think the service is quite fast. It usually takes 5-10 minutes to get to your spot. However, we have to deal with the road, getting to Grinz. In addition, we are a bit far away and have to leave on time. Overall, I really enjoy Grinz! There are a few problems but I give it a 10 out of 10!

Everyone always has a smile on their face, fun atmosphere. The staff are following COVID 19 protocol and are very professional, they are all troopers wearing the proper gear keeping us all safe. Very much appreciated!!

We recently moved to Tucson and my son had lost his retainer and I was ready to get braces myself. The entire office staff is so friendly, patient, and knowledgeable! I'll be getting my braces put on today and I'm SO excited!

We have known Dr Blase and his staff for over 10 years. They are amazing in every way. My daughter just started her braces journey with them and I am so pleased with how easy our appts are. She is excited to go and is really motivated to take care of her teeth. The staff does a great job with educating kids and we have really benefitted from my daughter really understanding their directions. I can tell her all day what to do, but when they educate her, she comes home and does it! They are all so friendly and professional. I can't say enough good things about the care we get at this office. Thank you.

The best orthodontic experience you can have! The staff is caring, helpful and knowledgeable. Now that my daughter has a beautiful straight smile I am considering Invisalign for myself because the experience was so awesome! In my mind there is no other place to get the best orthodontic care in all of Tucson!!
