As a board-certified pediatric dentist, Dr. Suzy C. Pope offers children a unique experience as they are introduced to a key component of their comprehensive healthcare. She believes that all children should enjoy seeing the dentist and hopes she can help your child develop into a great patient. Dr. Pope at Grins on Green Bay located in Kenilworth, IL has a warm and unhurried approach to pediatric dentistry, which puts her patients and their parents at ease. Her patients fondly call her Dr. Suzy.
Dr. Suzy earned her dental degree at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York, after receiving her B.A in English at Barnard College, Columbia University in New York. While in dental school, Dr. Suzy was President of the Class of 2007 and Editor in Chief of the dental school newspaper, Smilelines. Dr. Suzy completed a residency in pediatric dentistry at the University of Washington and Seattle Childrens Hospital. She conducted research on food insecurity and caries rates, and earned her M.S. in Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Suzy is a board certified pediatric dentist and a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentists. Committed to staying up to date with the evolving specialty of pediatric dentistry, she is an active member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Illinois State Dental Society, the Illinois State Pediatric Society, and Hellenic American Dental Society.
Philanthropy is very important to Dr. Suzy, and she finds helping children in need very rewarding. She has been on a mission trip to treat children in rural Jamaica, volunteered with the athletes of the Special Olympics, and treated underserved children with the ISDS Foundation Mission of Mercy.
Having grown up on the East Coast, then living on the West Coast, Dr. Suzy is now thrilled to call the Midwest her permanent home. Dr. Suzy and her husband Stephen, and their family live inWilmette.Dr. Suzy is mom to three young children: Elisabeth, Johnny, and Matthew and a furbaby Stella.They enjoy walks to the local parks, dinning in the vibrant North Shore restaurant scene, and the lakefront.

I honestly didn't know what to expect as we took our first born to his first dentist appointment and Grins blew me away. Our toddler was of course a little apprehensive but Fatima put him at ease right away. She distracted our son, made bubbles, sang, and of course let him pick out his favorite movie (Finding Nemo) and now we've been back twice and he looks forward to it. The dentists were both great and efficient too making it as painless of an experience as you could hope for.

I brought my daughter here and Dr. Suzy and her staff were so accommodating and very friendly and informative! We had a great experience and would highly recommend. Full disclosure I am a dentist and this is where I bring my little ones!

Dr. Suzy is amazing and it's like watching a choreographed ballet seeing how she interacts with your child to keep them happy and distracted during a teeth cleaning. I am very impressed with her team! They also have nice special touches like writing your child's name on a welcome board in the reception area, giving them a goody bag at the end, and letting them choose a show to watch during the cleaning. Highly recommend!

We love Grins on Greenbay! All of the Dentists and Dental Assistants are kind and patient with both of my children, including my 8 year old who is very nervous about the dentist. They take time to explain what is happening, demonstrate procedures and allow children to touch the tools. They are wonderful!

Dr Suzy and her staff are models for what pediatric dentistry can be. They are patient, gentle, make kids feel comfortable to the best of their ability. Dr. Suzy has gotten to know our kids and is always kind to them and to me, even if she might have had a patient right before who would probably have exhausted my patience and good humor (my kids have been those kids, too!). She really wants to be helpful and educate us when we ask for information. The pricing is fair, they accept my insurance. My kids are big fans and going to the dentist is their favorite kind of doctor appointment. We got to her by an experience at another office which went poorly with one of their new doctors. I'm so happy my kids ended up in Dr. Suzy's hands.

Dr. Suzy and her team are INCREDIBLE! Every time I am there with my children, I am so blown away by how above and beyond they go. They have puzzles and bubbles and stuffed animals and Dr. Suzy sings ABC's and Wheels on the Bus to my toddler son while she cleans his teeth. My children love to visit Dr. Suzy and I love it, too!

Dr. Suzy and Dr. Risa are amazing! My daughter has anxiety when it comes to dental visits due to some major dental needs and both women are so incredibly patient. They are able to connect with children better than our previous pediatric dentist and they know how to make a kid feel at ease. The entire office staff is wonderful as well! I recommend Grins on Greenbay to anyone looking for high quality pediatric dentistry.

My daughter LOVES going to see Dr. Suzy- she loves the amenities (picking her show to watch) and choosing colors and flavors. The entire staff is great with kids and gives kids a lot of agency in their own dental care. We'll go as long as we can!!

We have been seeing Dr. Suzy and her staff for almost 6 years. We have three kids and they all absolutely love Dr. Suzy and her office. If you are looking for a dentist that truly takes the time to talk with you and answer any and all questions, look no further. Her office is clean, inviting, and appointments run on time! She bases her recommendations and treatment on best practice and utilizes cutting edge technology. Grins of Greenbay is truly one of a kind and a great choice for your kid's dental needs.

This is a review of the practice management and does not reflect the providers. I took my children in for their first dentist checkup. I signed papers to pay up front and was told that my insurance would cover a portion of expenses. Months later, I find out my insurance did not cover dental (which I was misguided on by Grins' staff) and I am out $$$. I was willing to accept that, but when I question the cost of some line items I was told that "they didn't make up pricing. And it's just the cost of living where we live." I am a healthcare provider in the area and we go out of our way to have pricing transparency prior to visit. I was aghast at the outcome here. Parents, I would do your homework on procedures that really "need" to be done. Grins, I would highly recommend you train your staff better when dealing with disgruntled parents.

Dr Susie has taken such good care of my son, and he is not an easy patient. He has special needs and needs 3-4 people to hold him just for a cleaning. The staff never bats an eye, and are so sweet and patient with him every time. Tonight we had an emergency and Susie calmly told us to come right in, even though I know they were closing. She is so kind and calming and has a gift for even the hardest patients. We feel very lucky to be in her care.
