When hes not in the office, Dr. Bernstein enjoys spending time with his beautiful fianc, Jordan, his two dogs, Daisy and Ash, and his large extended family13 nieces and nephews and one more on the way!
Giving back to the community is the backbone of Griffin & Bernstein Orthodontics philosophy. Helping and giving back to the less fortunate is what it is all about, and Dr. Bernstein embodies this through his work with Rotary International, Relay for Life, and Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
The university then hired him as a clinical instructor in the department of surgery and eventually as director of the general practice residency program. The hours were horrendous and with two young daughters and a wife that he sparingly saw, Dr. Griffin reconsidered other avenues for his career. Orthodontics was a perfect fit for the balance of family life and career challenge that he desired. Gaining acceptance to theUniversity of North Carolina-Chapel Hillprogram fulfilled his new start and introduced his family to a state and community they have grown to love.
Dr. Griffin completed his orthodontic residency at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1994, simultaneously earning a Master of Science degree. He has been in private practice in Cary since February of 1995.
Dr. Griffin takes being a continuous student as requisite to his profession. He is ever attending continuing education courses and seminars to maintain and further his knowledge and skill as an orthodontist. He also participates in local study clubs and subscribes to contemporary orthodontic journals, in addition to his membership in many professional organizations:
Dr. Griffin is originally from Springfield, Illinois, and has lived in Cary for the past 23 years. He has been blessed with a loving wife and three grown children, Randi, Kelly, and Josh. He and his family are members of Hope Community Church.
