Dr. Grier helped me understand my personal dental health. I've never had a dentist take the time to talk with me like that. She answered my questions, she recommended healthy snacks like frozen pomegranate, and she found a throat infection that I didn't feel until later in the day and prescribed a medication for it. I found her and her staff to be friendly, personable, and professional. I would definitely recommend Dr. Grier.

I hate leaving bad reviews, but I cannot lie on this one. This was an extremely uncomfortable and humiliating experience even though I tried to be as pleasant and polite as possible. Upon examination, I was met with statements like: "Judging by your condition, it looks like you haven't been to a dentist in years," "Maybe we need to teach you how to floss," and "Wow, you're going to need A LOT of work done, honey." It was very condescending. While I may not floss as often as I should, I do know how. When I mentioned that I had actually seen a dentist 8 months earlier, I was basically ignored. In addition, the dentist asked me if I could refer anyone who might need a new dentist. Since I was being put on the spot, I mentioned my boyfriend, who was a few years overdue for a cleaning. When the dentist found out that he hadn't had a recent cleaning, she told me that I should re-think my intimacy with him (to prevent the spread of gum disease via kissing). Yes, she actually said that (even though my personal life is NONE of her business, and the kissing theory is a total myth). Needless to say, at this point, I just wanted to get out of there. When the appointment finally ended, I left fighting back tears and was in shock at what had just happened. After paying a considerable fee to this dentist just to get my X-rays transferred, I was able to see a much nicer dentist nearby (Dr. McMahan at Deerwood Dental), and my condition turned out to be much less severe (and less costly) than was initially reported.

Extremely rude and unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and don't see Carrol Grier. Horrible in more ways than one.
