I was very lucky to be referred to Dr. Rutherford when the practice I was using couldn't figure out how to find the right parts to repair an old implant crown. I was already unhappy with that practice and Dr. Rutherford is exactly right for those of us with, let's say, complicated and aging dental work. He is always calm, cool and collected, has the newest equipment, takes his time and patiently explains everything. Also he has an excellent hygienist and a highly competent and friendly staff.

After visiting (3) other dentists, I was very fortunate to find Dr. Rutherford. The other dentists did not instill confidence and their prices were riduculous. For those of us who have implants and need reconstructive work, it is difficult to find a well-seasoned pro who can handle the most difficult dental issues. Dr. Rutherford finds creative solutions and works with oral surgeons to coordinate complex procedures. His pricing is fair - especially considering the extensive amount of work he does. Additionally, he is not satisfied with the final outcome until you are. While at his office, he doesn't rush and gives you 100% attention. In case of a problem, he fits you in the next day. His staff is delightful. Dr. Rutherford is the "best of the best" for serious dental work. I wouldn't trust ANY other dentist in Sarasota for fair pricing and precision dentistry.

I absolutely never write reviews for anything, because I never feel the need to unless it's really good. Never been so uncomfortable in a dentists office. When I called to make my appointment to get a filling for a cavity, I specifically asked if they had laughing gas or whatever to relax me, as I hate big needles and have always had laughing gas before I proceeded to have a cavity filled, because I freak out. I was assured that they would have it and accommodate me. Upon my arrival, I was told they don't have it and never use it. Upset, I just wanted to let Dr. Rutherford know I was misinformed. Not only did he say i was wrong, but the second time he indirectly called me a liar saying, "I'm telling you, no one from this office told you that," with a stern 'you're full of it' look, instead of a simple, "oh sorry about that" and moving on. Then in the middle of the procedure, I was tense as I warned him I would be, and as I was keeping my composure as best as i could, he only seemed to get more frustrated and eager to be done with me and get me out the door. If he wasn't paid prior to the procedure, I would've got up and left beforehand. Any doctor, dentist or anyone who works with patients in a medical way that cannot take the truth, criticism, or be understanding should not be working in any medical field. I only put a second star because he did fill my cavity, and i have to credit him for doing his job. I personally will never go back here, and I wouldn't recommend anyone else to either.

Dr. Rutherford performed major reconstructive work for me a couple of years ago, coordinating his efforts with a periodontitis. The process took two years and several office visits. He was thorough and clear in his explanations of the required procedures and did remarkable work. I am very pleased. He is obviously highly skilled and I found both he and his excellent staff to be patient and courteous as well. I have not a single problem or issue with the work he performed and I continue to visit his office for routine examinations.

Dr. Rutherford has Hands of Gold! He and his staff are absolutely excellent. They make patients feel not like patients but like family! I recommend the entire staff without reservation.

For all of my adult life I never smiled because my teeth looked terrible. Dr. Rutherford changed that almost ten years ago. It did require major work--all of my teeth have crowns now,. He coordinated with a periodontist because my lower gums need major work before he could proceed. I have several friends who are retired dentists who tell me that Dr. Rutherford did a great job. His staff has always been very pleasant to me and my wife. I highly recommend him for major restorative work and for general dentistry.

Phenomenal dental office from the friendly, competent staff that meet you upon arrival to the dental care you receive from Dr. Gregory Rutherford. My husband, Jim, had extensive work done by Dr. Rutherford and will be the first to tell you his entire experience from beginning to end was the best dental experience he has ever had. Dr. Rutherford has a very calming demeanor, putting you at ease, explaining the procedure he is doing, and following up with you after. He never once had to sit and wait - all appointments were exactly on time (which is rare). His knowledge, patience and expertise put us immediately at ease. - Jim Nolan

Our experience with Dr. Rutherford is very unique. My wife had to have extensive dental restoration, she was very apprehensive when Dr. Rutherford explained the details of the procedures , but over the few months that the process took, she became increasingly optimistic due to the wonderful care Dr. Rutherford and his staff provided. Now as the process is in its final stage, my wife has new teeth and a wonderful smile. All because of Dr. Rutherford's knowledge and expert attention to my wife's case.
