With almost 30 years experience, Dr. Resnick has become an expert at dentistry. He is especially proud of the cosmetic and orthodontic work he has done. After growing up in Oak Park and West Bloomfield, near Detroit, he attended the University of Michigan, first as an undergraduate, and then at the School of Dentistry. He earned the title Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1984. He went on to practice in Pinconning, then Ann Arbor, with a volunteer experience in Israel in between. He has been practicing in Alpena since 1988. He has been a continuous student, studying at the prestigious Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education and taking many courses every year.
In his free time Dr. Resnick likes reading, hunting, travel, and staying fit. He is an avid cyclist, runner, and skier. He has completed 2 half marathons, and 4 DALMAC bike rides from Lansing to Mackinaw City. He enjoys sailboat racing on Wednesday nights on Thunder Bay. He has two children: Jessica, who is 28 and lives in Baltimore, and David, 25, who lives in Alpena.
I have worked in the dental field for most of the past 40 years. The last 25 years I have worked chairside with Dr. Resnick. I am a member of the Dental Assisting National Board and hold a Certified Dental Assistant standing, along with a Registered Dental Assistant license. I received my formal dental education at Washtenaw Community College.
In addition to working full time in the dental field, I own and manage eight apartment rental units. I have three grown children and five grandchildren. Secondary to spending time with them, I enjoy baking, reading, walking and biking. Much of my spare time is dedicated to fitness in the form of kickboxing, zumba, and weight training. I dislike cold weather, liver, beets, and cats!! (Just kidding)
I am also a mom and a wife! I have three great guys in my life; two sons, Ashton and Ty, and a fantastic husband named Delos. We enjoy Alpenas great northern beauty and all its super seasons. Fishing, biking and camping are just a few of the many fun things I enjoy with my family. At the office I am always pleased to be able to share my dental knowledge to care for patients, and help them achieve optimal oral health. I hope some day to be a part of your dental routine!
I have always had a passion for the dental field since I was a young age. Therefore, there was no doubt on the career that I have chosen. I studied and obtained my degree at Ferris State University, one of the top dental hygiene programs. I am your dental professional that you can feel comfortable to turn to with any questions, concerns or need you may have. I am here for you and to coach you to your optimal health!
Aside from the office, you can find me at the lake. I am extremely fortunate to have been raised with it right in my front yard. This type of living is embedded in me and this is where I feel the most free, at peace and relaxed. I am a big family person, therefore almost all of my days consist of getting together and spending time with them, not to mention I am an aunt to the best nephews and nieces! And lastly, I enjoy working out!
Insurance CoordinatorDr. Resnick invited me to join his practice 1 1/2 years ago and it has turned out to be the best job I have ever held! I look forward to coming to work EVERY single day. Getting to know patients' faces has been a bit of a challenge due to Covid (those pesky masks!) but each passing day I become more familiar with each and every person and I absolutely LOVE it!
When I am not working, I love to travel, especially to tropical destinations with sandy beaches. I also enjoy reading, shopping, cooking and watching game shows. In fact, it would be a dream come true for me to be a contestant on Wheel of Fortune! I am married to Anthony, and we own a very busy construction company. I am also the mother to fraternal twins, Brittany and John. I have the best daughter-in-law Audra who has blessed me with the most amazing grandchildren-Tucker and Farrah. They are my pride and joy (you probably saw their pictures at my desk along with my cat Bolt).
I joined Dr. Resnick's team as an insurance biller but have 25 years experience as a surgical assistant in oral surgery. In the past 1 1/2 years, I have worked hard to learn the ins and outs of insurance billing. You may have also seen me as an occasional fill-in for Diane assisting the doctor chairside.
My name is Kate McCoy and I am a receptionist here at Dr. Resnicks. I have been here since June 2021 but I have been working in dental for about 8 years now. I started in the front office of a practice in Traverse City. After my time there I went into Oral Surgery where I assisted for 3 years and had the opportunity to move back to my hometown of Alpena. I loved Oral Surgery but really missed seeing my patients on a regular basis like you do in General Dentistry. When I was offered the opportunity to work for Dr Resnick I could not turn it down. This has been the most rewarding job I have ever held. I look forward to serving our wonderful patients for years to come!
Outside of work I am a Mom to an amazing 13 yr old son Douglas and our two kitties Priscilla and Alfred! I also enjoy bowling, spending time outdoors, playing video games, singing karaoke, and RED WINGS HOCKEY! If Im not out adventuring at a Lighthouse or haunted spot, you can find me at home watching forensic files or with a book in my hand!
I have worked in the dental field since 2003! I Started my career as a dental assistant as I went to college for Dental Hygiene. I graduated from GRCC in 2008 with a degree in Applied Arts and Sciences - Dental Hygiene.
Since being employed with Dr. Resnick, I have had the pleasure to work as a Registered Dental hygienist, Dental assistant, and most recently I work Reception and absolutely love all aspects of the dental field! Working with all of the staff here has been such a pleasure and I genuinely enjoy coming to work.
I was originally born and raised in Holland, MI. Living near Lake Michigan all my life has made the transition to Alpena very easy! The Great Lakes sure have my heart. I am married, we have a 10 year old son, and 3 dogs. In my spare time I love yoga, watching movies, fishing in our pond, and vacationing. Youll find me most often at home with my family.
