Our mission is to provide specialized and comprehensive care for children from infancy through young adulthood, and those patients with special needs. We do our best to build trust and respect in a caring and nurturing environment. We strive to achieve optimum oral health through prevention and education first, and intervention, second. We want to make every experience a positive one so that a lifetime of good oral health may be obtained. Our practice philosophy is to treat and protect every child as if they were our own.

Dr. Mary Okuley is originally from northwest Ohio. She earned a bachelors degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the Ohio University. She then attended the Ohio State University where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery. Dr. Marys lighthearted mannerism and passion for treating children led her to complete a 24-month residency in pediatric dentistry at Temple University Hospital. Upon completion of her specialization she made Greenville her home.

She is currently a diplomat* of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the South Carolina Dental Society, and the South Carolina Society of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Mary is committed to constant improvement through continued education in the application of the latest techniques. In her free time, Dr. Mary enjoys spending time with her husband and her young children.

*As a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Mary has voluntarily proven she possesses the requisite knowledge, skills, and experience for delivering pediatric dental care at the highest level.

Melissa was born and raised in Greenville. She graduated in 2009 from Benedict College with a bachelors of science degree in Chemistry. She began in the dental field in 2012. Melissa was recently married in May of 2017. She has been blessed with two amazing children: Ciera and Julian. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.

Brandi is an expanded duty dental assistant from Gaffney. She completed her training to be DANB-certified from Spartanburg Community College in November 2014. She absolutely loves working with children here at Greer Pediatric Dental Care, where she started her career in March 2015. She is engaged to Dillon and they have one son, Weston. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time with family.

Sonya was born and raised in the Upstate of South Carolina. She earned a dental assisting degree at Greenville Technical College in August of 2010. She carries a certification in nitrous oxide, dental radiographs, and chairside assisting with CPR. She joined our team in 2012 after working two years as an assistant for a General Dentist before they retired. She found her niche here as an assistant with her quirky personality and love for children. She has been married to her best friend, Mickey, since 2004. They have two small children: Peyton MacKenzie, and Dominic Solomon. She attends church at Potters Clay Fellowship where she is active in the ministry for toddlers. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and Clemson football in her spare time. Go Tigers!

Candice is a graduate from Spartanburg Community College Expanded Duty Dental Assisting program. She knew from her start in dentistry that she was only interested in pursuing her career in a pediatric dental practice. She joined Greer Pediatric Dental Care in early 2016. In 2012 she married her best friend, Robert, and together they have two young sons, Henry and Robert. Candice enjoys crafting and spending time with her family.

Mattison was born and raised in Greenville. She completed her certificate for dental assisting from the Palmetto School of Career Development in 2015. She believes that patience and trust are the key factors to working with children. She always goes above and beyond to make sure that every child leaves with a smile. She has been a dental assistant with Dr. Mary since the spring of 2016.

Claudette is a wife and a mother of two girls. She has been working in the dental field for 10 years and is cross-trained in front and back office. She is also bilingual in Spanish. She loves working with children and hopes to do more with kids throughout her dental career.

Heather was born and raised in Gaffney, SC. She graduated from Spartanburg Community College in 2010 as an expanded duty dental assistant. She moved to Greenville in July 2014 when she married her husband Brandon. She loves working in pediatric dentistry and knows that having patience and a lot of energy are key. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her dog Harriet, volunteering at her church Forestville Baptist in Travelers Rest and cheering for Clemson football. Go Tigers!

Jennifer was born in New Jersey and moved to South Carolina with her family at age 7. She always showed an interest in teeth, so she decided to pursue her career in dentistry. She carries a certification in Nitrous Oxide Monitoring, Dental Radiographs, and Chairside Assisting with CPR. You will mainly recognize her as our check-in receptionist but she is also cross-trained to work as a dental assistant at our office. She had first met Dr. Mary at her daughters first dental visit in 2013. She loved the environment and the teamwork was noticeable as a parent of our patient. She then joined the team in 2015. Jennifer was recently engaged on her birthday on March 24th, 2017. She has two daughters, Roslyn who turned 5 on February 28th and Kamila who was born prematurely at 24 weeks gestation on February 27th, 2017 who is now their little guardian angel. They recently adopted a Dachshund Tricolor Long Haired Mix in early summer 2017, and named him Bear. Spending time with her family as much as possible is a number one priority. She enjoys relaxing and watching Netflix or Hulu.

Sarah was born and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas where she was certified as a dental assistant in 2010. She recently moved to the upstate and is glad to call Greer Pediatric Dental Care her new home. She enjoys spending time with her husband, whom she married in 2015, and loves outdoor adventures.

Greer Pediatric Dental Care is located in a brand new facility in Greer, SC with state-of-the-art equipment designed to provide your child with the best possible care in a comfortable and inviting environment. We specialize in the dental needs of children, starting with the eruption of their first tooth.

We provide a complimentary infant well baby dental examination for new patients before the age of two. Being a pediatric speciality practice, we are trained to be aware of the individual dental and emotional needs of the growing child. We always give age-appropriate, personalized attention to each child in a nurturing manner so that the most safe and effective treatment can be rendered.

We ask for you to be silent supporters of your children. This will allow us to maintain proper communication with your child and allow your child to listen to just one voice. Also please avoid saying it is not going to hurt or use words like needle or shot. Many times this causes incorrect or a misled understanding of the procedure and your child may focus on these words and expect pain or discomfort. Additionally, children will listen to their parents instead of the appropriate member of our dental team and may not hear what Dr. Mary or the dental assistants are saying.

For the safety and privacy of our patients, all other children that are not scheduled for treatment, are asked to remain in the reception room. Young children in the reception room will need a supervisory adult with them at all times.

Additionally the use of cellular phones is prohibited in the operatory area. The extra conversations carried on by others in the clinical area can be distracting to children and prevent us from close careful communication.
