Dr. Paige is a great oral surgeon. But, you can tell that his office/staff doesn't care about their patients. They just want your money. I get that it's a business like any other and I'm just a number to them, but there should be some sort of accountability for their lack of attention, communication, and humanity. I went for a follow-up appointment and checked in for my 11:15 AM. I sat no more than 5 feet away from the receptionist. I was the only person in the waiting room until a lady walked in for her 11:30 AM appointment. She was let in before me and I didn't think anything of it -- maybe her procedure took priority and was more important. At least 4 people had walked out of the office, so, they're not preoccupied anymore. I patiently waited 40 minutes until I got up and asked the receptionist what the holdup was. It was as if she completely FORGOT about me and neglected to see me sitting 5 feet away from her. She pinged the assistant, and I was let in a minute later. Dr. Paige came in, looked at my teeth and said I was good to go -- took no more than 5 minutes. An apology or explanation for making me wait so long would've gone a long way. Too bad the receptionist, assistant, or any staff member couldn't care less. They charge you the total amount up front. They don't send you an itemized bill. They don't call you ahead of time or send you any email to explain what to expect. No consent form. No explanation of benefits. No one has the decency to explain to you how the billing process works. Therefore, it feels like a scam, like they're robbing you right in front of your eyes. I had to ask the billing lady to explain it to me before leaving and feeling completely ripped off. That's when she printed out an itemized list of charges after insurance. Why is it so hard to communicate a huge charge (in the thousands) to your patients ahead of time? Do you assume everyone is just rich and ignorant? Just don't tell me you're too busy to give a damn. The nausea from the nitrous oxide was compounded by the staff's negligence.

Front staff - very squirrelly about what was covered by insurance, or what cost to expect. Not upfront at all, I would even say deceptive. Do not believe them if they say they take your insurance - it's an outright lie. Was handed a bill for the full amount and only told after procedure they don't take my insurance.

I am so blessed. Two days ago, I had an appointment with Dr. Leo Paige. My left upper back tooth needed to be pulled. Dr. Paige was very nice and polite. He injected me twice to have my left upper gum completely numbed. I was so relax, calm and little sleepy. Few minutes ago, he checked my gum to see if I still had little pain, I responded no to him. When he started to work on my tooth, I was so amazed that I didn't felt any pain at all. I gave my God the glory. Dr. Paige did an awesome job. God bless Dr Leo Paige.

Stay away!! This place should be shut down. I was unfortunately referred to Dr Paige by my dentist to get a quote for my wisdom teeth removal (paying out of pocket). The appointment took less than 2 minutes, consisted of them sitting me in a chair in the hallway and taking an X-ray and a 1 minute meeting with Dr Paige, where he looked in my mouth for less than a second, told me I had "very easy teeth to remove" and said I need all 3 out ASAP. That was it before he sent me back to the front desk to discuss costs, etc. Then I get handed a bill for $675 for "consult and X-ray" and I pushed back as the appointment lasted less than 2 minutes and I had already had x-rays done at my dentist and was aware I needed them out. The front desk receptionist discussed with dentist, and came back and said they'd give me a "courtesy discount" and remove the X-ray charge.. coming to a total of $275. I paid that part, even though I was incredibly frustrated that they weren't upfront about the charges. Then I was quotes an insanely high price for 3 removals, which I obviously refused. The front desk staff are incredibly rude and the office itself seems very unprofessional and sketchy.

If you've thought going for oral surgery would be a fearful gruesome experience then you've never met Dr. Leo Paige and his staff! I was treated respectfully, kindly and professionally. I trust Dr. Paige 100%. You will be in gentle good hands if you go to him. I was so impressed! Jacqueline Shabot

Dr Levy was extremely rude, was irritated me asking him questions and basically left the examination room saying consultation is over after he didnt like one of my questions. Very unprofessional.

This is not a review, more of a demand that Dr. Levy has his medical license revoked. I was scheduled for an 11am appointment to have my two lower wisdom teeth removed. I was quickly escorted to the operating room and my X-rays taken. Dr Levy was hesitant to answer my questions prior to the surgery. As someone who is about to go under anesthesia, naturally I had questions regarding the surgery process. Dr Levy seemed irritated that I was asking his questions and replied "how many more questions are you going to ask, let's just get to it". His comments really left me feeling unsettled, and still my questions unanswered. The nurse put the oxygen mask and began the sedation process, I was given four pills and a antiseptic rinse. Half sedated, Dr Levy tied my arm and was about to administer the needle. I kindly asked "how long the sedation time would be" and he replied "keep asking questions and I'm going to invite you to leave" I immediately took the oxygen mask off my face and asked if "he was having a bad day". NEVER have I experienced such poor bedside manner in my entire life from a medical "professional". Levi informed me that I was "wasting his time" and "not welcomed back" to his office. Who would trust a doctor who is unable to answer simple questions before going under? Who would want to be operated on by such crass individual? What doctor raises his voice and argues with a patent? I'm going to file a complaint to the New York State Dept of Health as well as The Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) and report his unprofessional practice. The nurses didn't seem to be surprised with his behavior and understood my concerns and hesitation. I left half sedated and extremely uncomfortable knowing people like Dr Levy are able to operate under these circumstances. NEVER visit this office if you can.

Everything was great except when I see an assistant pass some gauze without wearing gloves.

***Dr. Levy refuses to see people who have not had the COVID-19 vaccine***. I understand this is his practice...he can decide how he runs it, but please make sure not to waste people's time and not be rude!! There were many shortcomings here & he as founder of this practice, therefore should know better in running their practice. If this is actually a serious policy in your practice, then people who make appointments should ask whether one had the vaccine, this way one can avoid having to come here altogether!! In your office ask before people they enter your office or AT LEAST have signs! I have not experienced this in any other dental office. Other dental offices I've been to have patients keep their mask at all times. When entering the practice Dr.Levy had no mask on. If anyone had to be concerned of contracting the virus then it should be the unvaccinated. Though as someone who's tested regularly and double masked I do my due diligence to care for myself and those around me.

I had an amazing experience with Dr. Leo Paige. He and his staff made me feel completely comfortable throughout the entire Wisdom Teeth Removal process (consultation, surgery, post-op). I also had little swelling and manageable pain levels, which many of my friends and colleagues could not relate to with their experience elsewhere. I would 10/10 recommend him if you are nervous about surgery and want little swelling. Thank you Dr. Paige!!!!

I recently stopped by Greenwich Village Oral Surgery for a wisdom teeth extraction. I needed to get four of my wisdom teeth removed and needless to say I was nervous for the procedure. Dr. Leo Paige and his assistant did a fantastic job of making sure I was comfortable and aware of what the extraction entailed. They also kept things lighthearted but professional which helped ease the tension a good bit. After being sedated the operation was over in what seemed like a few moments and I wasn't left in any pain afterwards. I was given all the appropriate post-op instructions, ensuring I recover to the best of my ability. I'm pleasantly surprised by how enjoyable the experience was, the dentist isn't typically on the top of my list of good times. I cannot recommend this office and Dr. Leo Paige enough for any of your oral surgery needs. -Patrick Garbowski

The doctors and nurses here are so professional and caring. I removed two wisdom teeth today without any pain. I had a hard time making appointment with a dental clinic during the quarantine but every dentist office I called last weekend recommended me to go to Greenwich Village Oral Surgery because they are the best, and they are actually the best based on my experience. I want to thank their staffs who stay at work at this dangerous time, especially doctor Levy who made me calm and comfortable the whole time. I'll definitely recommend this place for anyone who is seeking dental emergency (they are supper productive and fast making appointment for you) and values good quality dental services.

Had 3 wisdom teeth removed today. I was very nervous. A consult was necessary as I did not have a referring doctor. From calling to make an appointment to walking out without my teeth, everyone I interacted with was nice and accommodating. I was treated with kindness. They allowed me to ask questions and didn't get impatient if I didn't do something correctly. I was even more nervous the day of the procedure but Dr. Paige again reassured me, covered everything and made me as comfortable with what was happening as possible. Speaking to some other reviews: I asked them to remove all 4 and Dr. Paige would only do 3 as the final one was unnecessary. If you are ever unsure about your insurance (as I was, having been down a nightmare dental insurance run around before) ask for a predetermination. This can take longer for some insurances but is the best way to know what is and is not going to be covered. I was very pleased with my billing experience at this practice. (Not the cost but how they dealt with insurance.) Feedback: I used their online form to try and book my consult and believe I did not get a response. So I had to call. I was also told I would get a call about my predetermination from insurance. I ended up calling to confirm my time and they covered it then. They may have been planning to call closer to the appointment but some people may want to know ASAP about the money. (They may not have received the predetermination as fast as me so if you're unsure I would call.)
