Greene Dental Associates - General dentist in Fairborn, OH

Dr. Percy Torkornoo earned Doctor of Dental Surgery at The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry. He then joined the United States Army where he served as dental officer for four years. He completed a tour in Iraq where he provided comprehensive dental care. He received two Army Commendation Awards and The Army Achievement Medal.

Dr. Torkornoo is dedicated to providing you and your family with comfortable, quality and comprehensive dental care. In order to keep up with advances in health care, he has adopted latest technologies including digital x-ray, Diagnodent (laser for detecting decay), digital charting, Invisalign (clear braces) and Cerec (same day crown).

An Invisalign dentist can provide patients with a series of teeth-straightening aligner trays, which are ideal for those looking for a discreet tooth straightening option. Invisalign is a commonly chosen teeth-straightening option offered at Greene Dental Associates.

While most people invest in teeth straightening treatment for the uniform appearance they create, they can also benefit one's oral health. However, investing in various types of options will produce different results. As an Invisalign dentist, we can provide patients with a professional, efficient and customizable teeth straightening treatment.

Invisalign involves a series of clear plastic aligner trays that discreetly fit over the teeth. Along with being difficult to notice, they are easy for patients to remove when eating, brushing teeth, playing sports, taking pictures and more. As long as the patient wears the aligners for at least 22 hours a day, they can enjoy the versatility of Invisalign and avoid the frustration of traditional metal braces.

As an Invisalign dentist, our team straightens teeth using a series of aligners. First, an impression of your teeth is taken so that a series of aligners can be created in a dental lab. The aligners themselves are made out of a thermoplastic material that is strong and at the same time flexible in order to be comfortable when worn for long periods of time. The material is virtually invisible.

The aligners should be worn for 22 hours a day and every two weeks; they need to be switched out with the next one in the series. Over a period of months, the aligners will slowly move teeth into place, making one minor adjustment at a time that is targeted to specific teeth. This helps your teeth to be comfortable as they are moved into position at a manageable pace. Once you are done wearing your aligners, your teeth should be perfectly straight.

Some patients need to wear attachments or ridges in order to ensure that their teeth move into place perfectly. An attachment is a clear bump that is made of an enamel colored composite and secured to the teeth. Bumps on your aligners will grip them in order to hold the aligner in place. Ridges work in a similar way only an indent is created instead of a raised bump. This can be necessary for more complicated cases to ensure that a particular tooth, or several teeth, move into place like they should.

Unlike wearing traditional braces, Invisalign will not make a major impact on your quality of life. Since the aligners are clear, it will not impact your appearance. Additionally, since they only need to be worn for 22 hours a day, they will not interfere with eating. This is a huge advantage because you can eat your favorite plate of ribs, go out for a romantic date, eat a caramel apple without worrying about something becoming stuck in your teeth or a wire being pulled out of place. This time also allows you to take the aligner out when having an important conversation or making a presentation at work. Overall, this is a convenient way to straighten your teeth and provides the maximum level of flexibility.

Some people are concerned about whether or not wearing an aligner will impact their speech. Most of our Fairborn patients tell us that they have to get used to wearing aligners after the first couple of days. Sometimes, patients have a slight lisp which goes away once they become used to speaking while wearing them. This is standard with any orthodontic procedure but fortunately; most people can speak normally within a couple of days.

Looking for an Invisalign dentist? There are many different options for straightening your teeth nowadays but Invisalign is one of the most common. The Invisalign teeth straightening system uses clear aligners to straighten your teeth, which comes with a number of benefits that no other option offers. Ready to find out more about choosing the

At Greene Dental Associates, we offer dental bonding as a way to improve the appearance of your teeth and to restore teeth that have been damaged in an accident. In a bonding procedure, the enamel on your teeth will remain intact, making this solution entirely reversible if you choose to use a different type of restoration in the future. The process can be completed in one day by roughening up the surface of your tooth prior to shaping the bonding material. Created to mimic the natural shade of your teeth, it is shaped prior to being hardened in place for a natural looking restoration. This procedure is certainly ideal for children, given how quickly it can be completed. Many adults also use this option when they are pressed for time and looking for an immediate restoration. The only challenge is that the bonding material will not be as durable as a dental crown would be, making it essential to discuss the pros and cons of the procedure.

Something happened to this place, since they opened. They stood us up three times! On a third time without even saying sorry... Terrible communication, very bad business and work organization. No scheduling work, always delay. Do not waste your time! They don't even deserve a 1 star.

DO NOT GO HERE! The first time my husband had fillings, the DOCTOR NEVER SAID A THING TO HIM ABOUT WHAT HE WAS DOING and he was in pain for weeks following. Today he had ONE filling which they drilled and filled 3 separate times! To which the doc said "thank goodness for x-rays"! Are you freaking kidding me? Now his tooth is extremely sharp and bothersome. Save yourself time, money and horrible experiences and go ANYWHERE ELSE!

I went in as a new patient with severe pain and with no appointment (I called first). Within an hour, I had been registered, evaluated, diagnosed and treated. Left with 1 less tooth, but also with no pain. They took very good care for me, showed sincere concern and acted quickly to resolve the issue. I wish more offices were like this, both dentistry and general practitioner care.

The website says under special offers that zoom whitening is $299 on special if mentioned while scheduling, I called, made an appointment and mentioned it and the receptionist Gabby said it was old and it is $350 and she laughed, pretended to go talk to a manager and came back to answer the phone like she didn't just talk to me. Cancelled my appointment and will never set foot in there. False advertising at its finest.

Went here to get a tooth pulled. I was told that I needed to go eat something before they pulled it after the x-ray, so, I did that and came back. They then took $344 from me off of my debit card in advance. I waited about 40 more minutes while they took back other patients. So, I go back and I tell the dentist he does not need to write pain meds as I do not take them; the dentist then says he does not want to pull the tooth without having permission from my heart doctor. I call my heart doctor, the nurse disturbs him from another patient to get permission on speakerphone. The dentist comes back in the midst of this to tell me that he wants to write out questions for my heart doctor and I need to take them and have him fill them out and bring them back. So, they then decide they will not pull the tooth, and though they said they would give me cash back, they then refused to give me cash back until it went back through my credit union intentionally making me wait in pain. The front desk lady started to speak to me in a tone I did not like and I had to explain to her that just because I got older and have lost some teeth I did not lose my intelligence and that I have four degrees, it was then that she said she was not giving me cash back since they didn't get the cash as soon as they debited my card as she said that is not our way. I have had teeth pulled, many surgeries, tests, dyes, and never had any issues. So, my thought on this is that they tried to push a root canal rather than pull the tooth, when I declined they no longer wanted the $344 since they could not get a few grand from me as a cash patient. Also, I have never encountered any doctor in any field and their entire office staff attempting to force someone to take pain pills. I would not recommend this place to a rat and fortunately the credit union did put the money back into my account the next day so I could seek out a competent practice. If they were not going to pull the tooth or there was a problem, that should have come up before I was sent off to pay for lunch next door($15), before I sat another 40 minutes in the waiting room, and by all means before they took the $344 and tied it up because I would not allow them to speak to me like I am stupid. If you decide to go here, good luck is all I can say to you because they were not professional or competent in any way except running that debit card to take that cash and then try to tie it up so that I could not seek treatment anywhere else.
