Dr. Elyassi grew up in Potomac, Maryland, where he received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from University of Maryland Baltimore County and Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from University of Maryland, Baltimore College of Dental Surgery. He completed his Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Tripler Army Medical Center, where he graduated 'top resident.' He is board certified with the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, as well as the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
At Fort Hood, Texas, Dr. Elyassi was appointed as Assistant Professor and head oral surgery mentor for the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program. At Walter Reed, he was appointed Assistant Professor and attending to the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residency program. He has devoted his professional career to staying current with all aspects of oral surgery and passing on knowledge to dental students and young oral surgery candidates/residents.
Dr. Elyassi has special interests in dentoalveolar surgery, implant surgery, orthognathic surgery, preprosthetic surgery, facial cosmetic surgery, TMJ surgery, and trauma. He has always exceeded the continuing education requirements of his field. He has over nine publications in various journals leading to the development of the surgery field and several other publications in process. Besides reading and writing, his hobbies include playing golf, soccer, tennis, skiing, scuba diving, and spending quality time with family.
Dr. Nicholas Joyce was born and raised in Richmond, VA. He attended Hampden-Sydney College located in Farmville, VA where he received a B.S. degree in Biology. During this time in undergraduate studies, Dr. Joyce volunteered extensively for the Missions of Mercy dental trips where he was exposed to the vast, fulfilling, and exciting field of dentistry. His exposure to Oral and Maxillofacial surgery was cultivated during this time as well and throughout his dental school studies. Thereafter, he moved to Washington, DC where he attended Howard Universitys College of Dentistry and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
Upon completion of dental school, Dr. Joyce continued his post-graduate training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Howard University Hospital and associated hospitals including Washington Hospital Center, Childrens National Medical Center, and the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Joyce practices full scope Oral and Maxillofacial surgery but with a particular interest in dentoalveolar surgery, dental implants, bone grafting for dental implants, wisdom teeth, and sedation. He believes in treating patients as if they are family and providing them with care that they can be confident in.

Update from 3 weeks ago when I went for my procedure, amongst others, and was told my mouth guard will be ready, paid for already as well! No phone calls to me or anything while popping pills like an addict! It took me calling at 4.45 am with pain this morning to attempt to leave a message when the sleepy and presumably tired Dr. Joyce answered the phone to pacify me and offer to help. Dr Eliyassi might need to step up his aftercare plan!!

I was recommended by my orthodontist to visit "Greenbelt Oral & Facial Surgery. The first surgical experience was great from the beginning through completion. Dr. Nicholas Joyce performed both surgical procedures. The second oral surgery was efficient, his bedside manner, expertise, and skill with me was "AMAZING!" I recommend him to anyone that is need or oral or facial surgery.

I'm so glad my dentist referred me to them!! I was in a car accident earlier this year that gave me so many complications and I've had to see 7 different specialists for my injuries and Greenbelt Oral's office has made it to my top 2 places!! The front desk folks are super kind, very helpful, and patient. My most recent vist I got to see Nahid and Angelica who are always busy but never treat me unkindly when I have a bunch of questions (which is great cause I have a lot of questions lol). And the visit before that Amos helped me figure out my financial options to pay for my upcoming procedure and he was so patient with me as I fumbled through my banking apps trying to figure out how I was going to pull together the money. Christine almost brought me to tears because I told her that my memory was affected by my accident and at the end of my appt she gave me extra notes of all the things I needed to remember to tell my lawyer! The entire staff is always so kind to me and they really do a great job of making you feel cared for. This year has been one of the hardest in my life and after being to so many medical offices I know all too well that not all of them are going to give you the level of care that you need. But the team at Greenbelt Oral go above and beyond every single time I see them. I may not be happy about why I need to be seen, but I'm always happy to see them!

My name is Tyara and I had an appointment yesterday for a wisdom tooth extraction. Everyone was great! They thoroughly explained everything to me and I wasn't in any pain after the extraction. It is refreshing to see folks that enjoy their work. Dr. Elyass, Xochilt, Lulu & Orlando are fantastic. My daughter Reese just had some procedures done....they were outstanding. She actually asked for me to make this review. She has never asked me to make a review of anything!! Lol. This is her 2nd time at this establishment (work for braces). I would give Dr Joyce a 10 !! He is very profesional, courteous, and always smiling. I took my first wisdom tooth out about 10years ago, after that first experience with another doctor I never wanted to touch my other 3 wisdom teeth. But then, my brother went to Greenbelt oral and facial and also got his 3 wisdom teeth out and he was speaking and smiling like nothin happened on the second day. Told me his experience with Dr Joyce, went ahead and took my other 3 out with Dr Joyce and trust me, I'm very pleased and not disappointed. Thank you Dr Joyce, Blessings.

Dr joyce and Eric were amazing. I had my tooth extracted and DID NOT FEEL A THING. They were very professional and explained eveything and made me feel comfortable with the process. I recommend this oral surgery to everyone.

Dr. Joyce did an excellent job extracting one partially impacted problematic wisdom tooth for me!! I went to Greenbelt Oral and Facial Surgery for a second opinion about extracting this tooth and I'm very glad I did!! I had my concerns about getting the procedure done and Dr. Joyce assured me I would be in good hands. I sure was!! The day of my procedure I was very anxious. But, Dr. Joyce helped me relax very fast. Dr. Joyce is gentle. I experienced no pain during the procedure and almost no pain afterwards!! Also I have no complications from the surgery!! I have been with Dr Elyassi and his team since 2017! He has done 2 of my implants and I've had no complaints. His assistant Kim is great. I would recommend anyone who needs oral surgery to come to Greenbelt oral surgery they are the best!

My experience at Greenbelt oral and facial surgery was great. Dr. Elyassi who performed the extraction did a great job. I was in and out and the healing process was wonderful. Kim, the nurse, did a wonderful job making sure I was prepped and ready for surgery. Christine at the front desk, also did a wonderful job collecting my information and making sure I was ready to go. Great job by every one.

I give this place 5 stars because the staff is amazing. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out, I went to sleep and woke up didn't feel a thing. Dr Joyce, Kim and Orlando are a great team thank you guys !!
