As a pediatric specialist and a father of three boys, Dr. Chris Roberts, DDS MS, has a way of making going to the dentist fun and easy for kids. Rather than just being a general dentist, Dr. Chris is a pediatric specialist and that means that he has expert training in caring for kids.
With an easy-going and humorous approach, Dr. Chris helps children relax by talking to them, showing them everything he is going to use, and explaining exactly what he is going to do. He takes the time to get to know patients and parents, which inspires a deep level of trust and comfort. His goal is to give parents practical recommendations that respect their time and finances.
Dr. Chris is the only Board Certified Pediatric Dentist in his area. Dr. Chris decided to undergo this rigorous and impressive process because of his commitment to providing the highest quality dental care for his patients. As a pediatric specialist, Dr. Chris understands the important effect that your childs dental health has on their wellbeing, and will work closely with you to make sure the right treatment plan is chosen. As a Colorado native, Dr. Chris received his undergraduate education at Colorado State University in Biochemistry before attending dental school at the University of Iowa, where he graduated in 2008. Dr. Chris completed his pediatric residency at Nationwide Childrens Hospital in Ohio and at Ohio State University, and is now a certified pediatric dentist. With all of that knowledge and experience, Dr. Chris has taught pediatric dentistry students at the Healthy Smiles Clinic at Childrens Hospital of Colorado. Dr. Chris is also a member of the American Dental Association, Metro Denver Dental Society, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Monserrat Andrade Gonzalez (Monse) (Front Office) Monse works in the front office and started with us in December 2016. She attended the University of Colorado Springs for a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Sciences. Monse is able to contribute greatly to our practice as she is bilingual and able to help us serve the Spanish-speaking community. Her favorite part about GVK is that we are more than coworkers, we are a family. So, she has really enjoyed working here this past year. Dr. Chris and her associates are amazing and really know how to make families feel welcomed and Dr. Chris does an amazing job with all the kids. Outside of the office, Monse enjoys spending time with her family and friends and has very supportive parents. She has a 1-year-old niece who is her world. She also likes watching movies, having game night, playing sports, and being active.
Dawn D. Martinez (Dental Assistant) Dawn has been with our practice since 2013 and graduated from Pima Med School in 2003. She loves that we are a small, family-oriented office. Dawn is a very faithful, dependable, and caring employee who loves children. In her opinion, any parent who chooses to bring their child to our office is in for a big treat. Dr. Chris is the gentlest, most loving, understanding, and patient pediatric dentist they will ever meet. He gives each patient and parent his undivided attention by listening and answering all questions. He also has children, so that helps him to understand why some children come in scared and nervous. Dr. Chris does everything to make each visit happy and healthy. Dawn is the proud mother of 2 boys and her hobbies include spending time with family and friends.
Karla Rodriguez (Dental Assistant) Karla has been with us since 2010 and has an Extended Duty Dental Assisting Certificate. She loves that our team is passionate about making every dental visit comfortable and fun, so that each child is excited to come see the dentist. She assists Dr. Chris, orders dental supplies, and does some marketing and interpreting. She feels extremely fortunate that she could be a part of the GVK grand opening and assist Dr. Chris with his first patient. Karla loves to be a part of this family. She has been happily married for 10 years and has two handsome boys. She loves lifting weights, running and road biking.

Friendly and great with kids chris is very good with kids I've had my daughter seeing him since she was 1 and a half and she is seven now our 2 year old also she him go one time and you'll know it's right

Genuinely, love this office! We're so sad that they are no longer servicing kids over 13yrs. The staff provide such a pleasant experience that my 8yr old loves to come to the dentist. We've never had any complaints about this office since we've been coming here. Dr. Chris is attentive and has always answered any questions or concerns we may have had. It's a great feeling when you trust a dentist so much you don't want to leave.

Doctor Chris and the team were so amazing. My daughter has a lot of anxiety about all doctor visits. The staff were all so kind and patient and helped us work through her fears. I'm so grateful to have found an office that works with me as a parent to help my daughter instead of watching dumbfound while I get buried in mom guilt.

We've been with Dr. Chris since my kids were 3 years old. They ALWAYS get excited for their routine dentist appointments because the staff and Dr. Chris take such gentle care of them.

This place is amazing! They made my five-year-old feel right at home. She had to have a tooth pulled and the dentist was able to make her comfortable and explain what he was doing at her level and not scare her! I can't say enough good things about the care we received. (They were pretty good with a nervous mom too)

Our family loves Dr. Chris and the entire staff. We have seen Dr.Chris for 10+ years now. Started with my daughter and now I have 2 more boys, he takes great care of all 3 of them. I have 4 children ages 13-6 and they have been coming here every 6months for 6 years. And I won't switch again. Dr Chris started checking on my youngest when she was 6months and he was amazing with her (a baby going to the dentist is no easy feat). Dr Chris and all of his staff are so personable and kind every time we speak on the phone and when we are in office. I am quite particular when it comes to my children and prefer to forgo certain treatments such as fluoride and they are amazing and listen without scrutiny, and respect my wishes and communicate them to all team members. I love this office.

Didn't have a second opinion for the treatment plan & had the work done here (wish I had gotten a second opinion just to be sure). Staff was ok and office manager was nice. Dentist needs better beside manner, especially dealing with children. He may very well be a good Dentist but when dealing with kids he needs some more warmth & patience for kids & concerned parents with many questions.

I have been taking my kids since my first one was 6 months old Now he is about to be 7 and my second baby is about to be 6. It has always been a great experience! Everyone in the office are really nice and Dr. Chris is the best! My kids are always happy to be back for their cleaning. Today my 2nd one had one tooth removed and I couldn't be more Grateful! Dr. Chris really care about his kiddos. Totally Recommended! Thank you!

Dr does a great job of giving just enough info to set him more at ease (while hiding the scary needles!). Staff are all super friendly and understanding too. Thank you all for making our visits as physically and mentally pain-free as possible!

The dental assistant Dawn was amazing with explaining what the tools were and what she was going to do with them. This place is extremely caring about children and I would highly recommend them to anyone with little ones!

This review is long overdue, I apologize to all the staff in advance! Several years ago a coworker recommended Green Valley Kids Dentist to me and said Dr. Chris was awesome and the real deal. I took a whim on it, and this is easily one of the best decisions I've ever made as a parent. Im beyond appreciative of everyone here at GVKD. A few years ago my little girl was running on the school playground when she slipped on some ice, and fell face first into the corner of a concrete step. Her upper lip was split open, the tissue inside her upper jaw was ripped off and exposed bone, and several of her teeth were pushed backwards and crooked. This was my first injury as a parent so I was freaking out. At Children's Hospital they called their dental physician in to take a look. He recommended a maxillofacial specialist to help, but none were available. I went next door to Anschutz Medical Campus where they called in their dental physician as well. He recommended surgery, but did not have the capability do to so at the time, and said "see a dentist to get her teeth fixed, she needs plastic surgery, then let things heal as they are with time since kids are resilient." I was very upset at this time seeing my little one in pain and still bleeding in her mouth. I called Dr. Chris a few minutes before they closed and explained the situation. He didn't even hesitate and said to bring her in to take a look. He wasn't sure if he would be able to triage this situation, but he didn't turn us away. We got there after they were supposed to close, and without hesitation he went to it. He sewed up, stitched up, and placed teeth correctly, and finally got my little one a shot to take the pain away. We left there a few hours later, well into the evening time. Dr. Chris, Dawn, and two other assistants stayed late several hours to take care of my little girl and im forever grateful. They took time away from their family to help mine. Years later and now I have other children and every one of them know GVKD staff by name. At least once a week my kids ask when they are going to go see Dr. Chris and watch movies while their teeth get cleaned. Ive never heard a kid actually look forward to seeing a dentist, but here we are. Thats the caliber of office this place is. I will never see a different dentist, and even though I've moved around the Denver area, I will always make the drive to see Dr. Chris and thats without hesitation. I would put 10 stars if I could. Thanks for all you guys have done for my family.
