A native of Canada, Dr. Howell completed her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Genetic Engineering at McMaster University and her Master of Science in Neurology and Neurosurgery at McGill University. A research opportunity at the National Institute of Drug Abuse in Baltimore, Maryland, brought her to the United States, where she pursued drug addiction studies while her husband completed his Ph.D. at Johns Hopkins.
Having worked as a dental assistant for several years during high school, she revisited the prospect of dentistry as a career that would allow her to fulfill these passions. After several shadowing sessions and discussions with local dentists, Dr. Howell applied to dental school and has never looked back.
Dr. Howell remains indebted to her mentors, who have supported her and fostered her growth both personally and professionally throughout her career. I can't say enough about Dr Howell! She is professional and compassionate and most importantly, empathetic! She works quickly and efficiently but takes the time to evaluate and diagnose so you never feel rushed even if she is crazy busy!
