Dr. Kirby Johnson brings a well-rounded dental background to the practice. He grew up in Marshall, Minnesota, where his father and brother currently practice dentistry. He received his bachelors degree from St. Johns University and graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. In June of 2015, he completed a one-year General Practice Residency at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center, where he gained in-depth experience in all phases of general dentistry, with advanced training in prosthodontics, oral surgery, and implant dentistry.
In July 2015, Dr. Johnson began at Green Lake Dental, assuming care from Dr. Mark Bloomquist, who retired after practicing in Spicer for 34 years. Dr. Johnson loves practicing in Spicer and has really enjoyed getting to know all of the people who call Green Lake Dental their dental home; he is a knowledgeable, caring, and a superb clinician.
Outside of the office, Dr. Johnson enjoys spending time at the lake, skiing, hunting, fishing, playing hockey, and spending time with family and friends. He is very involved in the Minnesota Dental Association and American Dental Association, having served the MDA on the Board of Trustees, as a delegate at both the ADA and MDA House of Delegates, and as a committee chair. Locally, Dr. Johnson is a member of the Spicer Sunrise Lions Club, Spicer Commercial Club, and co-president of his neighborhood association. Dr. Johnson, his wife Hallie, their sons Crosby and Graham, and daughter Reese love living in Spicer and enjoy all that the lakes area has to offer.
Dr. Zach claims Aberdeen, South Dakota as his hometown, but also has had the unique experience of growing up in multiple states across the Midwest, in addition to spending five years overseas. He completed his bachelors degree from Northern State University in Aberdeen. Following graduation, he spent just under a year working in Spicer at Green Lake Dental before moving on and receiving his degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.
In his spare time, Dr. Zach enjoys playing guitar, watching or playing baseball, and spending time outdoors hunting and fishing. He is a member of the Minnesota Dental Association has served as a delegate for the MDA House of Delegates. He loves how dentistry can be used to change a persons quality of life through their smile.

Second visit, My short wait in the lobby was calming, almost a zen-like atmosphere. I was feeling the genuine sense of care coming from Lisa at the front desk. She was letting me know she had me covered, and was holding my hand, again showing the confidence she had in me. In walks the dental hygienist JEN. She could see chicken-little here was still silently singing " Do I go or do I stay". They both saw me eyeing the front door. The great escape was in the planning stages. Jen then came up to me and said we can do this, we will do this together, her eyes portrayed the same calmness as Lisa 's and she started by showing me her equipment. I'm glad I stayed. Lisa walked back several times showing her support. It felt like the three of us had it covered. They again worked at a pace with my comfort in mind. I also want to thank them for including and letting my support person know I was doing fine. 5 star isn t enough..These two are top-shelf. I can t wait to get my smile back and continue spreading the word, that Dr Kirby Johnson and his team are fantastic. See you soon Pat Jager

Wow! Looking forward to seeing you is not the normal response one would give to a dental office. While speaking to a dental assistant I felt very comfortable and completely assured my feelings of nervousness was understood and accepted especially now that I'm on oxygen 24/7. She gave me the confidence to continue with setting my appointment and they would be there to hold my hand if I needed.. Bless her heart. So ladies when I say " Fill your tanks" I'm not talking about your Harley's. Also Dr. Kirby Johnson ( I consider the gentle giant he's so tall" ) he rounds out the team with the same atmosphere of knowledge and calmness See you soon Pat J

My four year-old loved his first appointment here so much that he keeps asking to go back! They're awesome with kids--although it helps that my son is always weirdly excited for doctor and dentist visits.

Claire made me feel comfortable and told me everything she was doing and how it would feel after cleaning. She was great. Dr was also great. Gave me the best options to move forward and let me choose which was best for me. Im happy i switched to green lake dentist.

Dr. Kirby and the entire team at Green Lake Dental truly care about their patients. I had been referred to a metro area clinic to have a root canal done () once I learned they couldn't get me in for almost two months I started to call around to see if another clinic could help. So glad I checked with Green Lake Dental! I was thrilled to hear they could not only do the work that I needed done but that they were local and could get me in quickly due to the pain I was experiencing (the metro area didn't even ask about my pain). They took their time explaining what needed to be done and to ensure I had everything I needed to be as comfortable as possible - they even had a cool neck rest! If you are looking for a dental clinic that goes above and beyond and is expertly skilled give them a call. Ps. The root canal was virtually painless I had never had one before and was scared by the horror stories but this was painless. Thanks, Dr. Kirby!
