We offer meticulous, uncompromising, state-of-the-art dental care with a commitment to honoring and caring for the beauty, importance and sovereignty of ourselves and every person we have the privilege to serve with love, joy, compassion, and respect.
Often in dentistry, we forget that the mouth is connected to the rest of the body. We become tooth mechanics, neglecting the impact we, as dentists, have on whole body health. My intention is to help people find the missing pieces to their health, which many times can be found in the mouth and the structures surrounding. Dentistry truly can be life changing.
After dental school, she studied with the International Academy of Oral and Medical Toxicology, becoming an accredited member (AIOMT) and certified in safe mercury removal. She also attended the American College of Integrative Medicine and Dentistry, making her a board certified naturopath, and obtained her degree in Integrative Biologic Dental Medicine. She also has completed coursework though the Institute of Functional Medicine and is certified in ozone and myofunctional therapy.
This comprehensive background allows her to communicate with physicians in their own language and create collaborative, individualized treatment plans for their shared patients. It also allows her to quarterback patient care and direct patients to help them achieve total mouth and body health.
Believing that continuing education is critical to both professional development, patient care, and personal development, Dr. Taylor dedicates hundreds of hours each year to further her education in dentistry, medicine, and nutrition to ensure she is up to date with the latest techniques and research in biological dental medicine. Areas in which she has received additional training include:
Ozone therapy. Myobrace, ALF, and DNA appliance therapy (alternative to braces treatments and sleep apnea treatment). Functional orthodontics. Invisalign. Tongue-tie release. Laser dentistry. Nightlase (snoring treatment). Facial aesthetics (nonsurgical face lift). Neuromuscular dentistry. Myofunctional therapy . Advanced TMJ treatment. Sleep apnea treatment. Heavy metal detox. Buteyko breathing. Platelet rich fibrin (PRF), in both surgical applications and facial aesthetics. Zirconia (ceramic) dental implants. Micro air abrasion (alternative to drilling). Safe mercury removal. Perioscopy (minimally invasive treatment of advanced gum disease). Nonsurgical treatment of cavitations. Cranial-sacral, chiropractic, and physical therapy, and how these can be applied when treating the airway and TMJ.
Recently, Dr. Taylor has developed a real passion for treating both the root cause of crowded teeth and sleep apnea/airway issues. Fixing the causes of obstruction in both children and adults to support optimal systemic health is so rewarding, she says. Oxygen is THE MOST IMPORTANT nutrient our body needs. We make such a big deal around the nutrition we put into our bodies, which is important, but we skim over the oxygen supply pathway: our breathing! Oxygen is KING, and without sufficient oxygen, every organ system breaks down.
Based in Washington state, Dr. Taylor has become one of the top Myobrace, DNA/ Vivos system providers on the west coast. Drawing from her diverse training, Dr. Taylor has developed an interdisciplinary treatment protocol that merges her knowledge across biological dentistry, laser techniques, naturopathic/functional medicine, cranial-sacral/physical therapy, and functional TMJ and orthodontics to treat jaw development issues and sleep apnea/snoring.
Dr. Taylor is a member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine, the Holistic Dental Association, and the International Association for Orthodontics.
Outside the office, Dr. Taylor enjoys organic grain-free cooking, Pilates, yoga, painting, live music, and exploring the great outdoors. She loves to travel and discover authentic new places near and far. On the weekends, you can find her at the local farmers market, spending time with family in the San Juan Islands, or attending a continuing education course.
Dr. Isabel is an integrative dentist with over 20 years of experience who is passionate about bringing awareness to the art of truly living extraordinary, fulfilling, happy lives by focusing on the mouth as a mirror and gateway to the body.
After completing her dental studies at Universidad Autnoma in scenic Manizales, Colombia, Dr. Isabel devoted a year to providing dental care to underserved communities. After completing her general practice residency, she served as chief resident at Jackson Memorial Hospital a University of Miami affiliate with an emphasis on oral surgery and the treatment of children with disabilities and medically compromised patients.
Dr. Isabel completed her training in orthodontics at the Academy of GP Orthodontics and is trained in Invisalign. Her more holistic and biological approach led her to get certified in dental ozone therapy through the American College for Integrative Medicine and Dentistry in New York. She is particularly fascinated by the integration and relation of stress, emotions, and immunological dysfunction, especially autoimmunity.
Disease, she explains, is caused by imbalances in four main aspects: the psychological system with our thoughts and emotions, the neurological, endocrine, and immune systems. Its the idea that motivated her to expand her toolkit with an Emotion & Body Code Certification, a hypnotherapy course at UCLA, and Dental Decoding, in which she was trained by Dr. Fabian Brotos in identifying emotions as they relate to specific teeth. In 2020, she earned her doctorate in integrative medicine and is a Reiki Master, as well.
Born in Medelln, Colombia, Dr. Isabel enjoys the amazing miracle of having teenage twins, along with all the joy their respective journeys bring to her life. For fun, she enjoys exploring the great outdoors, painting landscapes in oil, reading, kayaking, hiking, and traveling. She finds discovering new cultures as rewarding as exploring educational content for her patients. You are welcome to join her journey at isamizu.

She received her dental hygiene degree from Onondaga Community College, a Bachelor of Science in dental auxiliary teacher education from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and a Master of Science in business from Husson University in Bangor Maine. She continued her training in myofunctional therapy from the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy in Los Angeles. Shes a mother of two lovely young ladies, and wife of Tom. In her spare time, she loves reading, traveling, and talking with other dental geeks. Be sure to check out her blog, Queen of Dental Hygiene!

Biological dentistry is concerned with the whole body effects of all dental materials, techniques and procedures. It unites the best clinical practices and technologies of western dentistry and medicine with a wide array of modalities beyond the horizon of conventional practice. For biological dentistry acknowledges, appreciates and considers the complex and dynamic relationships between oral health and systemic health within the context of the whole person. These things are inseparable.
This approach is fundamentally holistic. Because the aim is to support the health of the whole individual body, mind and spirit and our inherent ability to self-regulate and heal, it is natural, as well. It humbly acknowledges that we cant really improve upon nature, only affect it for better or for worse.
There are a number of issues in dentistry today that bear directly on our ability to follow through on this philosophy. Heres a quick summary of where we stand on some of the most important ones with respect to health. Our beliefs are expressed through our actions.
White/Tooth-Colored Composite Fillings We use them. For most people, theyre an excellent option for repairing decayed or damaged teeth. We make sure that the ones we use are BPA-free, and where sensitivity is a concern, we do biocompatibility testing to identify materials that the patient is non-reactive to.
Ceramic/Porcelain Crowns & Bridges We use them. Like composite, these are an excellent choice and well-tolerated by most people. As with composites, there are many options available. Again, compatibility testing helps guide us to the ones best suited for you.
Ozone We use ozone in a variety of applications from direct ozone therapy to disinfect and support healing to ozonated water in our operatories to eliminate biofilm and pathogens from the water supply we use while cleaning or working on your teeth.
