Dr. Heidi has been in practice in Green Bay since 1996. Her practice was started by her father in 1968 as the first specialized pediatric practice north of Milwaukee. She worked for her father as an assistant starting at age 14 and has worked in various capacities in the practice ever since. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Marquette University, Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, Masters of Science in Dentistry from Marquette University, Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Childrens Hospital of Wisconsin and is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She has also studied orthodontics with Dr. Ruel Bench, a world renowned orthodontist. As well as completing the Clinical Modification of Dentofacial Development course with Dr. Gerry Samson at (gnathos, inc., she continues to complete advanced orthodontic and pediatric dental continuing education courses to better serve her patients.
Dr. Heidi is committed to the profession of dentistry. She is a member and past president of the Brown-Door-Kewaunee Dental Society and serves on the peer review committee. She is a member of the Wisconsin Dental Association and currently sits on the subcommittee for the Dental Home. She also holds memberships in the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and Wisconsin Society of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Heidis peers have recognized her commitment and honored her with the 2005-Wisconsin Dental Association Community Outreach Award and 2006 Green Bay Headstart volunteer of the year. In 2013 she was nominated by her peers for Fellowship in the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an international honor dental society. The Pierre Fauchard Society recognizes dentists who have made significant contributions to the profession and their communities.
Dr. Heidi is married to Eric Ulve D.D.S., and has four children. Her interests outside of dentistry include enjoying every moment of being a mommy, gourmet cooking, and gardening. As time permits she also enjoys fishing, upland game bird hunting, tennis, golf and a really good book.
Dr. Ulvegraduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1993, and then sought additional training and experience with the U.S. Navy through 1996. Dr Ulve joined the Family Dental Center of Green Bay in 2000 and in 2013 he assumed sole ownership of Family Dental Center.

We were out of network for years and I brought up how high our bill was the last couple visits and the biller was like right I agree but it should go down after insurance, well I got the bill and it went up lol... I'm fairly certain they knew this whole time and I'm somewhat sickened by the thousands I'm sure I threw away over the years for my family of 5. Yes yes yes, ignorance of insurance status is not thier fault I get it, I should've known better, it's just twice I asked them about how steep the bills were and they played dumb when I know they knew we were out of network the whole time. Dishonest.

Our son Max, who is less than 2 years old, visited the office today for his first dental appointment. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. Dr. Heidi was very thorough and the hygienist was so kind and patient with my son (who wasn't thrilled to be there). Highly recommend Dr. Heidi and her staff. We've been going to their practice for our entire family for many years.

Wish I could do 0 stars. I've never felt so horrible for putting my son through an experience. I could write and incredibly long post but I'll keep it relatively short. Not only did they insult both my husband and myself, but my son too, by saying he didn't have proper cognitive understanding. He's 3 and I'm a stay at home mom so I'm with him literally 24/7 and most of his life has been during COVID so he's not used to people and going places, and apparently it was "not normal" for him to want me in the room with him during his appointment , he cried so hard he broke blood vessels in his face and they never told us, he just came out like that after the appointment was over. They put him through all of that and we're even able to finish the procedure properly, they decided to give us a new treatment that would cost just as much money, but they have to go back and redo which will cost just as much money again! They give you treatment breakdown with little explanation of it and just expect you to know what the terminology on the statement is. We also confirmed we paid the entirety of our bill when we left his appointment and we're then sent a paper copy in the mail with a late fee! Both my son and I are traumatized and we will advise everyone we know to never go to them and I recommend you don't as well.

The Hygienist, Laurie, was not cautious when it came to flossing and I was afraid she was going to pull my crowns off. She also kept poking my tongue with the laser she was using to clean my teeth. I think she needs more practice? Dr. Ulve is great though.

So happy with the care I received here today. Karen did a wonderful job explaining what she was doing and being gentle throughout the whole process. I was even offered a blanket since it can get chilly while you're sitting there. Front office staff is very friendly and checking out is so easy and fast even when you have a co pay due.

I have been a patient at FamilyDental for 9 years. Dr Ulve is a fantastic dentist. He always s vey friendly , and listens to me. He takes time and looks at all the details of my care at FamilyDental. Kate has been my hygienist for 9 years as well . She is a great hygienist! Friendly, good at what she does. She has a lot of experience. She has been working at her profession for 29 years. Dr. Heidi is great. She very clearly and respectfully explained our daughter's dental issues and our options for dealing with them. Other places we've been focus too much on games and gimmicks for the kids, but our experience at GBFD focused on communication and health. We're happy to have our kids there.

Friendly. The dental cleanings I have had are nice and gentle instead of rough. I had a crown put in, and was very happy with the results. They matched it very well to my old tooth.
