Doctor Sharif received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from George Mason University and has been practicing dentistry in the Northern Virginia community for the past 20 years. She graduated with honors from Dental School and further completed a two year residency and received her certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from Howard University College of Dentistry.
Dr. Sharif has passed the rigorous board certification process and is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. She is also a member of the American Orthodontic Society which is the largest educational association in the world serving general and pediatric dentists who practice Orthodontics. Dr. Sharif was awarded the diplomate status by the AOS in 2012 the highest credentialing available from the organization.
She has been teaching for more than 15 years as an assistant professor at the Howard Universitys Department of Pediatric Dentistry. There Dr. Sharif teaches growth and development and early orthodontic treatment to the post graduate residents. She also has hospital privileges at Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia where she treats those patients who require general anesthesia for their dental needs.
Following his dream and passion, Dr. Joon Kim attended Midwestern University dental school where he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. To continue his commitment in providing patients with the best treatment available, he had attended restorative, orthodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, and surgery courses to learn many aspects of dentistry. His special interest in implantology led him to take several extensive trainings in both South and North America including Pikos Institute, Engel Institute, Hiossen, DISS (Dental Implant Surgery Seminar), and LIT (Live Implant Training). Dr. Kim utilizes both 3D CBCT and guided surgery to have predictable surgery outcome.
Dr. Cruz received her first orthodontics certificate as a specialist from the Argentinean Society of Orthodontics in Buenos Aires. She then completed a three-year postdoctoral specialty program at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York, where she received her Master of Science degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Dr. Cruz is a Board eligible certified orthodontic specialist. She is exceptionally trained in conventional orthodontics and clear aligners therapy to teens, children, and adults.
In addition to being a specialist in Orthodontics, Dr. Cruz is a specialist in Dental Public health, the specialty of disease prevention and health promotion. Her vast experience in multidisciplinary treatment planning and the years of Ivy League dental education has enabled Dr. Cruz to gain a unique approach to treating both children and adults and provide adequate preparedness to orthodontics eligible patients to achieve and maintain oral health benefits of functional, beautiful smiles. She maintains an active affiliation with several professional associations.
Dr. Cruz offers state-of-the-art orthodontic techniques and appliances using the latest state-of-the-science approach to customize all of our treatments and address the different patients orthodontic needs. She bases her treatment philosophy on a comprehensive diagnosis of the maxillofacial complex and a differentiation between the skeletal and dental components. Thus creating facial harmony and beauty.
Dr. Nickie Bastani grew up in Northern Virginia and received her undergraduate degree at James Madison University. She completed her dental degree at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry at the Medical College of Virginia campus.
Following dental school Dr. Nickie moved to the Midwest and completed an additional two and half years of training to receive her certificate and Master of Science degree in Pediatric Dentistry at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Nickie is dedicated to providing her patients with specialized care to fit their needs.
