From root canals to surgeries, Dr. Massey wants to place the utmost importance on providing exceptional results in both treatment and patient comfort.
Dr. Massey received his bachelors degree in biology from William Jewel College and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of MissouriKansas City. Dr Massey served 9 years in the United States Air Force where he completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency. He received his certificate and a Master of Endodontics from Indiana University. After teaching for 2 years as the Director of Endodontics at Eglin Air Force Base, Dr. Massey moved to Springfield, Missouri and opened Greater Springfield Endodontics. He is a member in good standing with the American Association of Endodontics, American Dental Association, Missouri Dental Association, and Greater Springfield Dental Society.
Craig M. Mulherin, D.D.S. grew up in rural Troy, MO, where small town values were instilled from a young age. Those values include morals, ethics, and compassion for all our patients. We understand that nobody wants a root canal - let us surprise you! Craig is calming and comforting, striving to make every root canal the best dental experience possible.
Dr. Mulherin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern Illinois University - Edwardsville with a major in BioMedical Sciences and minor in Chemistry. In 2016, his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree was awarded from the University of Missouri - Kansas City School of Dentistry; graduating with honors in Endodontics. Following graduation, Craig joined a lifelong mentor in general practice before returning to UMKC in 2017 for endodontic specialty training.

Everyone at Greater Springfield Endodontics was wonderful! Dr. Massey & his assistant did a great job explaining everything to me. They were so caring & skilled! I would highly recommend them for all your root canal needs. They even called me the day following my root canal to check on me!

Had a root canal today done by Dr. Massey. I'm generally a pretty anxious dental patient so being told I needed a root canal was not what I wanted to hear. But seriously, and I mean this with 1000% truth, my root canal here was the MOST comfortable dental procedure I've ever had done, period. More comfortable than any fillings I've had done, wisdom teeth, etc. Dr. Massey and his tech Christy were both very pleasant and listened to my concerns. They offered me headphones for the TV that was mounted on the ceiling. They made me very comfortable and along with the nitrous oxide I literally didn't feel so much as a single poke. The best part was, the procedure took less than an hour, when everything I read said they usually take at least two. They gave me a t-shirt afterwards and man, it was just a phenomenal experience. I hope I never have to have another one just for the same of saving the money, but if I do there's no other place I will go! 1000|1000 would recommend!

I had a root canal done by my regular dentist that could not be completed due to the anatomy of my roots.I was referred to Dr.Massey and was lucky enough to get booked the following day.Dr Massey had no issues finishing the procedure fully,0 pain during the procedure,very little soreness after.His assistant who's name I did not catch was very friendly and helpful and truly cared that I was comfortable and informed.They followed up the following morning with a wellness checkup on the tooth which was very thoughtful and appreciated.Great people,great service,6 stars if I could

We had a wonderful experience with Dr Massey for our son. Dr made him comfortable and the procedure went great. Afterward my son said it wasn't as bad as he thought it was going to be. Dr. Massey and his team are thorough and work together very well. Couldn't be happier with our time there.

3.5 - Scheduling: polite, as a professional it took a few minutes to find an open time. Instead of giving me a list of open times, I had to keep giving my open days followed by, "nothing available on that day." 5.0 - Pre-appointment: All of the forms were able to be completed prior to arrival, took about 20 minutes (I had to track down my dental insurance info). What's better is they had all of the paperwork printed and ready to go at the time of my appointment, so I didn't have anything else to complete. They greeted me kindly and quickly confirmed my name and preferences. 5.0 - Appointment: I was pulled back about ~10 minutes after my appointment. They did say that they were running slightly behind when I arrived. The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Put me right at ease. Dr. Massey was to the point and efficient. 5.0 - Post Appointment: I got a PCN prescription (paper , would have preferred eRx), clear discharge instructions and a t-shirt. The filling is slightly off on the anterior aspect of my tooth leaving my bite a tad off... My oral anesthesia is still wearing off, will update after I get my crown. 3 months later - Filling corrected with no pain/issues within the first few days. Crown went without issue. I did have a bit of jaw pain on that side for about a month, but this was explained in the post procedure paperwork. Summary: There's a reason this place is the highest rated in the area. Very impressive! Will highly recommend to family and friends!

They always do a great job and are so nice, friendly and welcoming. When I found out I needed another root canal, I told them Dr Massey was the only choice for me! After a previous bad experience with another dentist, I can not say enough good things about him! So grateful for them and the great care they give me!
