Parul Taneja BDS, DMD, MS graduated from Manipal University, Karnataka, India 1998 and received a Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree. She achieved distinction during her program there in the subjects of material science, physiology, and pediatric dentistry. Dr. Taneja was also the silver medalist in Manipal University for the undergraduate orthodontic program. Being prolific writer, she held the office of editor on the Dental Student Council. She was also involved in public speaking.
Dr. Taneja did a one-year internship at the prestigious Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital in New Delhi. During her internship, she was the lead speaker in the Colgate Oral Health Initiative. She was also an active participant in the yearly Pulse Polio effort of the government of India, a project aimed towards the eradication of polio.
Dr. Taneja received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2005. Her graduate degree in orthodontics is from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Dr. Taneja is a protg of Dr. Nanda, a legendary figure in the field of orthodontics. She completed Master of Science degree in Oral Biology at the University of Oklahoma in 2002.
Dr. Taneja works in private practice full time in Waltham, Chelsea, and Lynn. She is also a clinical assistant professor at the Tufts University School of Dental Sciences, director of the biomechanics course for the graduate program, and is also a guest lecturer at the pre-doctoral orthodontic program at the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Taneja has authored several articles in peer review journals. She has written the chapter on inter-disciplinary care in the textbookOrthodontics Diagnosis and Management of Malocclusion and Dentofacial Deformitiespublished by Elsevier. She is a recipient of the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) Ten under Ten Award in 2010. The award honors dentists who, within the first ten years of practice, have made significant contributions in the field of dentistry.
Dr. Lokesh Suri is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics (ABO), an associate clinical professor of orthodontics, and director of pre-doctoral orthodontics at Tufts University, School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Suri graduated from Maulana Azad Medical College, India in 1997 and graduated as the valedictorian of the dental school class. He was the recipient of the Khurana Gold Medal as the Best Graduate in Dentistry. He then did a two-year residency program in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (A.I.I.M.S.).
Dr. Suri then moved to Boston where he joined Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine in 2001, graduating summa cum laude and valedictorian of the dental international student class. He was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor society (OKU) and was awarded Outstanding Senior OKU Member, the Pierre Fauchard Academy Award for Excellence in Dentistry, the American Academy of Oro-facial Pain Award, the Quintessence Award, Deans Honor Roll, and Merit Scholarship. He was also the recipient of the International College of Dentists Merit Award and the Colgate Merit Award.
Dr. Suri is also a reviewer on the Editorial Board of theAmerican Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics(AJO-DO). He also served as the North East representative on the Council of Scientific Affairs (COSA) of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) from 2007-2012.
