Dr. Floyd entered the University of Maryland Dental School after successfully completing a 3-year pre-dental program at Tennessee Technological University. Upon graduation from school he served 2 years in the Navy at NAS New Orleans, in Bell Chase, Louisiana. After which, he was an instructor and assistant professor at LSU Dental School.
Working as an associate in two dental practices, Dr. Floyd opened his office in Crownsville, MD where he has served the Crownsville and greater Annapolis area for over 30 years. The focus of his office has been family and cosmetic dentistry.
Continuing Education is important in keeping up to date with the latest advances and technologies available. Invisalign, Sedation dentistry, basic and advanced life support as well as the Chesapeake Study Group and the nationally recognized Triple Crown Study Club have allowed Dr. Floyd to keep on the cutting edge of Dentistry.
In the community, Dr. Floyd has been involved with the Green Hornets organization in soccer, basketball and baseball. Both he and his wife have enjoyed serving in the Church Hospitality Program and Heavens Kitchen.
Samantha (Sam) is a graduate from the University of Maryland Dental School, Dental Hygiene Program. Prior to Hygiene School, Sam obtained a Bachelors Degree in General Science from Stevenson University, formerly known as Villa Julie College. Along with being a full-time member of our office, Sam currently volunteers her time talking to schools and daycares about oral hygiene. Her extended training includes: Drug and Supplements affecting the Dental Practice, Nutrition for the Dental Patient, Periodontal Pathogens, Vizilite, Invisalign related to occlusal trauma and CPR.
Sam Currently lives in Annapolis with her husband and son. Besides spending time with her family, in her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, exercising, yoga, adventure sports and has participated in two Sprint Triathlons with various running races. Her favorite expression around the office is I exercise to eat!

Very nice staff. The office is very inviting. Dr Floyd is extremely knowledgeable about the dental technology he uses at his practice. I was given an appointment with very little wait time. The hours are accommodating to meet the needs of most everyone. Dr Floyd has been in practice for many years in the Crownsville area.

If we could give Dr. Floyd and his staff more than five stars, we certainly would! Who knew that a visit to the dentist could be pleasant experience? We both had a very thorough cleaning with Samantha. "Sam" is just as nice as can be and super knowledgeable. She gave us one of the best cleanings we have ever had. Dr. Floyd is a kind, gentle and excellent dentist. We are very happy with his work. The whole staff couldn't be friendlier. We highly recommend Greater Annapolis Family Dental!!!

Excellent visit. We have been going to a dentist for 20+ years, just made the switch to Dr. Floyd. I learned more from the hygienist in this 1 visit than I had in all 20 years I had been at the other place. I highly recommend!

The staff were very nice and accommodating... My first time there I was ten minutes late but they took me anyway. They have me suggestions on how to combat my teeth grinding and improve my enamel health. Thinking about moving my whole family to this office. They are fantastic.

Dr.Floyd and his staff are wonderful. The office is clean and comfortable. I'm a new patient to this office but I am very impressed so far. Dr. Floyd and his staff made sure they explained everything, made sure I was as comfortable as possible when having a root canal and followed up to see how I was feeling afterward. A+ service!
