Dr. Chris Truong graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 2000. He is a Fellow of the AGD, Fellow of ICOI, and the 1st graduating class of the Craniofacial Pain Institute in 2007. His practice focuses on Full Mouth Reconstruction and Implant/Bone Rehabilitation. Dr. Truong served as a Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Vietnamese Baptist Theological Institute in helping train pastors for ministry. Dr. Truong also serves as a deacon for his church in the position of Educational Director. He also leads the Vietnamese Language Teaching Program through his church for the community children. Dr. Truong also teaches Apologetics and Systematic Theology at his church. He travels extensively to third world countries in Asia and Africa for the past 18 years as part of a team of doctors providing treatments for those in need. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, volleyball and ping pong with his 3 boys.
Dr. Mary Tran graduated with honors from Baylor College of Dentistry and was awarded membership in the honorary odontological Honor Society. Dr. Tran enjoys all facets of preventive and restorative dentistry. She is an active participant in the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Dallas County Dental Society. Dr. Tran has a goal to help patients of all ages to achieve & maintain the best oral health possible. Dr. Tran has positively impacted the smiles of many patients.
I began working in the dentistry field in 2016 and quickly grew a love for it. I always want to make a great lasting impression when patients first walk through our office doors and my goal is to make sure that patients visits run smoothly so that theyre leaving with a beautiful smile on their face
I have been working in the dentistry field for three years and Ive enjoyed every minute of it. My favorite thing about working at Great Southwest Family Dental is being able to help our patients with whatever they need. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my daughter and being around my family.
Ive been blessed enough to be working in the dentistry field for more than 30 years. I absolutely love being able to help my patients achieve their beautiful smiles and educate them on the importance of oral health. In my spare time I enjoy traveling, cooking and spending time with my family.
I am currently the Secretary for the Pre Dental Society of the University of Texas at Arlington. I love the world of dentistry and I am working toward being a dentist. In my spare time I enjoy volunteering, reading, shopping, and doing arts and crafts with friends.
I treat and care for all of our patients as if they were my family. I assist in all oral surgery and implant cases. When Im not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three children; I also like to fish and hunt.

It has been almost a month since I received the final set of my full mouth Hybridge restoration and I am very pleased with the outcome! Before coming to Great Southwest Family Dental, my oral health was very poor, and I felt life threatening for me. Dr. Chris Truong and his team came through for me and gave me my smile back!! I highly recommend this office for all dental needs!

I am grateful for the care and treatment that I have received by the entire staff of Great Southwest Family Dental. My teeth needed a lot of care and repair. Dr. Chris Truong led the entire dental team throughout the entire process, keeping me informed along the way. How wonderful it was that they could complete both crowns and root canals in one day. Dr. Truong and the team worked so well together. Everyone was very professional, skillful, attentive, and caring. Thanks to you all!! I highly recommend Great Southwest Family Dental!!!!

I gave a 1 star because I can't leave 0 star on the review. My family and I (The Riveras) been patients for over 5 years. Since 2 years ago the customer service went down. Our appointments get cancel last minute, they always have an excuse for it. But, is very unprofessional cancel a filling appointment for 9 months later because they don't have any space available, and then call me to make a root canal and a crown appt. for the very next week. They only have appointments space for expensive procedures? Billing lady is very rude and unprofessional. We are seeking another provider, tired of the same issue over and over. Dentists are good, but the service went from good to horrible.

If you are a current or new patient to this office and utilize dental insurance, please do your homework and know what your insurance covers. Read over the EOB that your insurance sends you after the claim has been processed. If the office claims you owe more than what you've already paid (and what you paid matches what your insurance says you should've owed), please question and research it. I've been a patient of Dr. Chris Truong for over 10 years, back when his office was in the shopping strip next to Office Depot. He's an amazing dentist and his hygienists are fantastic. This review is solely based on an interaction I had with his new billing coordinator on 4/12/2022. It's very unfortunate that just because of HER, I will be seeking a new provider. She is extremely unprofessional and condescending. She needs to be better educated on customer service, how to read invoices, and insurance billing.

This place is absolutely fantastic! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a friendly girl at the front desk who answered all my questions. Thank you to the friendly staff that I helped me in the back. They were able to even slip in a cleaning after my appointment!!! I'm definitely going to continue to come here and recommend to my friends and family. Thank yall for everything you do.... Yall put a smile on my face

Great service. I was having a hard time with the xrays and the tech, Vivian was so sweet and patient. She took the time to do them which helped me overcome the anxiety. The other tech who did my cleaning, Tricia, was so sweet and knowledgeable. She took the time to teach my about proper dental hygiene and did a great job of the cleaning. The front desk staff were all super friendly and helpful. This was my first time coming to the dentist in a while and I'm so glad I came to this place. I'm so happy with the service I received here. Thank you UPDATE 9/8/21: I still stand by what I said about my amazing and kind hygienist - she is super great and this has nothing to do with her. I am updating this review to reflect my dissatisfaction with scheduling and hours. As someone who works full time, it is challenging to take time off from work for appointments. I had scheduled for a Saturday appointment, but due to re-scheduled international trip, I had to cancel. I was shocked to learn that I would not be allowed to schedule on a Saturday ever again. I explained that I had no choice but to cancel because I would be out of the country. (For context, this trip had been moved around because of COVID, and I was not going to move it again). I just think that there should be a little more clemency when scheduling patients on Saturdays because that is when most working adults are available. It only makes sense. A part of customer service is being available, understanding and flexible. I was satisfied with care I received, but this experience with scheduling and lack of understanding around my circumstance (despite my good faith effort to inform of my cancellation within 9 days), has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Dr.Truong and the staff were so nice and friendly! I really enjoyed my visit and will definitely be back. Vivian the hygienist was wonderful as well, she made me feel very comfortable during my cleaning.

I originally was disappointed I had to drive further to see a dentist that was so close to my home last year. My first visit, I was impressed how nicer it is compared to their other location. The new location completely changed my mind and at the end I didnt care about the longer 10 min drive. After the first visit and my experience with Vivian, I absolute love the place. I have decided that Dr Truong will remain my Dentist because of the amazing job Vivian and the rest of the staff did. Thank you GSFD.

Excellent service. Very friendly and accommodating staff. I had two wisdom teeth extracted today with almost no pain. I was in and out of the office within an hour. Cathy is always excellent in accommodating with the scheduling of appointments. The price is always reasonable.

Horrible!! "Unprofessional" "untrained" staff and "poor" service! We're having to file a complaint with dental board and seeking legal action. The staff is running the office and the dentist is "not" engaged and "clueless". They also ask for "money" up front and it takes weeks for follow up. "Beware " - Save yourself "aggravation," time and money.

Staff was friendly. They expect you to pay ahead of time for anything other than regular cleaning... Kind of unusual in my experience. Hadn't been to dentist in a while, they recommended full deep cleaning in all 4 quadrants. I figured it was probably necessary so went ahead with it. They also told me I needed multiple crowns. Went back for another cleaning and was told that I now needed crowns as well as two root canals. I had no active infection so I'm not sure why the root canals were needed. They didn't explain very much and I was so overwhelmed I didn't ask enough questions. Went home and went back to my old dentist. Had xrays sent over to him as well. He told me no root canals were needed and definitely no crowns especially right now. He also said the xrays were terrible quality films. He said most dentists use digital xrays now. Not sure why they used film for mine. He took care of me with a couple fillings and a fresh cleaning. He asked when my last cleaning was done and I told him a few days prior. He was shocked. I remeber thinking my cleaning was super quick the day they told me I needed all the work. So I got to pay out of pocket for a second cleaning since great sw had already charged my insurance for my covered amount. Needless to say, I won't be going back. The doctors and staff were always very friendly, but I can't trust their recommendations. Thank goodness I got a second opinion. Saved me thousands and my mouth no longer hurts.

One of the hygienists cleaned my son's teeth. This was such a great experience because she was so patient and careful, even when my son moved around more than he should have. She did a super job of getting each tooth clean and polished and with a great attitude. Thank you, Great Southwest Family Dental!
