As our name suggests, Great Smiles of La Mesa focuses on helping our patients achieve beautiful smiles that they want to show off. While some dental offices can treat their patients like they are just a number, we make sure that our patients feel comfortable and understand all the treatments they may need. To offer the highest level of care to our patients, we take advantage of the latest technological advances in the dental field. Some of the many advances we use include digital x-rays which save our patients time and money while also receiving considerably reduced amounts of radiation, and laser dentistry, which can revolutionize treatments like periodontal procedures.
Our modern office helps us take care of patients of all ages with a variety of treatments needed. We are here for the general procedures such as a dental exam, cleaning and cavity filling, but are also here to help with larger procedures such as a root canal, dental crown, or dental implant. The staff is always warm, caring and empathetic to your concerns. The hygienists take their time with your cleaning and almost seem to enjoy the detail work, which is much appreciated. They have advocated for me with third party providers so that I don't have to deal with that anxiety. They are a high quality service overall and have helped me with a lot of my dental anxiety. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the warmed blankets! So nice

I am deathly afraid of going to the dentist. I'd rather have triplets! But I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by the care, step by step explanation and advancement in technology, I experienced at Great smiles of La Mesa. I wish I could give more than 5 stars I finally trust my Dentist! And the staff omg! They are so awesome in making you feel comfortable Thank you so much Great Smiles of La Mesa

After searching for someone in my Dental Insurance group, waiting for an appointment to come available, and doing the extensive online questionaire, and waiting in the wait room, I finally got to meet with Dr. Johnson. During our initial discussion she informed me that I was not "a good fit" for her practice and she would not take me on as a client. It seems she wants me to do all of my dental work there, and is not willing for me to keep my current oral surgeon/orthodontist who does my crowns and implants. And, also, I wasn't agreeable to having an initial full mouth xray since I have no current dental problems. She stated that her refusal to take me on was "for my own benefit". (Huh?) Wish I had known that they have a profile expectation before going there. But I have to agree that the staff are the friendliest people anywhere.

Such a personable and thoughtful place, putting the comfort of the patient first. If you have ever had anxiety or great if the dentist (uummm yea, that's pretty much everybody), then this is the place to go. Thank you Loraine and the Johnson Doctors. (They're a sister duo, along with another dentist).

I have been a patient of Great Smiles of La Mesa for quite a few years. I have received nothing but the best treatment from the entire staff and absolutely love Dr. Johnson. She is extremely personable and understands the importance of your dental needs. Dr. Johnson is very welcoming and has a great sense of humor. I feel very fortunate to have a dentist that is concerned and does her very best to meet your needs.

Very inviting. Everyone was very friendly. Dr Johnson was very thorough and detailed with examination of my teeth. Dental assistant (Aurora)was very nice and gentle. Daisy Mae was very understanding and patient. Great job Team Smiles for taking your time with me. I gave them 4 stars only because I was waiting in the lobby/ waiting room for a little over an 1/2 hour.

I can't rave enough about Dr. Sherin Johnson and the staff at Great Smiles of La Mesa. I was tortured my entire childhood by out family dentist and have severe PTSD. Symptoms include: holding my breath, white knuckles from holding my hands so tight, and my body ends up being so sore from clenching so hard a day or so after treatment. My gosh, I had NONE of that this time.This is the best dental experience I have EVER had. Dr. Sherin Johnson was very kind, she listened and heard me, I felt she was very trust worthy. She has a great way of explaining things where it made perfect sense and it surely helped me choose the correct care and changed the way I think about vigorously brushing my teeth with a stiffer bristle. The staff was so kind and helpful, genuinely helpful. I am so happy and excited I found Dr. Sherin Johnsons at Great Smiles of La Mesa. I am a new fan of this kind, compassionate, clean, professional, dental office. I feel pretty sure I now have a Dentist I can trust! We all know dental work is not cheap, but I also didn't feel I was being ripped off. They offer great dental discounts for their patient's. I highly recommend them.
