Dr. Efraim Florendo earned his Dental degree in 2000. His enthusiasm to expand his dental knowledge brought him to the field of Dental Research and he worked in San Francisco as a Dental Researcher for two years. This vivified his passion for Dentistry and willed him to practice the Art and Science of Dentistry in various cities such as San Bruno, San Francisco, Sacramento, Vallejo, San Jose until he finally found his heart and decided to settle in the lovely and warm city of Modesto.
A firm believer that one must always strive to improve his knowledge, Dr. Florendo ensures that he is always equipped and updated with the latest trends in Dentistry. He is a Master of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), the worlds largest dental implant organization and provider of continuing dental implant education, and one of the very few fellows in Modesto. He also had his continuing education in Endodontics from the prestigious University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and earned certifications from the University of California San Francisco and University of the Pacific.
Despite his devotion to provide great smiles to his patients, Dr. Florendo manages to balance his personal and working life. Aside from being an active member of American Dental Association, and California Dental Association, he also is an active member of Couples for Christ, Families for Vocation and Healing Ministry, Rotary Club Sunrise and Knights of Columbus. He also ensures that he gives back to the community by attending dental missions and helping non-profit organizations such as The child haus- a cancer institution for kids.
A loving husband and a father, he makes sure that he spends quality time with his family. At home, he helps the kids with their homework, plays with them, and teaches them his craft - drawing, painting and carving. As a matter of fact, he painted one of the murals in his office. If not in their home, he usually travels with his family or they do fun activities such as surfing, body boarding, bowling, and going to national parks.
Dr. Alexandra Chang, DDS, MS is a native of the San Francisco Bay area. She went to U.C. Davis for her undergraduate studies and attend U.C San Francisco for her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. After completing her studies in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at The Ohio State University, she returned to California. She has been practicing orthodontics for over 10 years and loves working with young children and adults. On her free time, she enjoys traveling and learning about new cultures. She also likes to spend with her family and two japanese bobtail cats.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Dr. Efraim Florendo covered some of my cavities and I was in pain for weeks. I called back to be seen and the staff informed me that he was on vacation. I was in pain for 3 weeks and got seen after he was back from vacation. He finally takes me in and I am still in pain. He starts working on my teeth and it is super painful and he eventually gets up and told his assistant call the specialist and leaves me on the chair without any explanation of what is going on. He did not even offer to prescribe any pain medication or antibiotics. He never returned to explain what was wrong with the filling and why I was.in so much pain. Children come to this dentist which is scary since he does not know what he is doing. I would not trust him with my chidlren. I would never recommend this dentist to anyone!! Go elsewhere.

I used to drive all the way to Bay Area for my dental needs, and I found Great Smiles dental office here in Modesto. Great smiles provide excellent service with all my dental needs for the last couple yrs now. Renee always provide excellent job with my routine cleaning. I only trust Great Smiles Dental to take care of my family's dental needs. We have been their clients for years. The kids feel comfortable and safe. Dr. Florendo has the gentlest hands and the staff are all nice.

The best customer service performance by front and back staff in a dental office I have ever encountered. Office manager Selena made the experience confronting and explained treatment well. Cecilia was able to work with my schedule to make my next visit just as smooth.

Great Smiles is excellent all around. So good that I travel all the way from the Bay Area to go here. They have replaced all my bottom teeth, no pressure dentures! Friendly staff as well. I wound highly recommend.

It's always a satisfying experience here :) Today, I had my tooth extracted and I could feel how stubborn the tooth was but the doctor and his assistant never lose their cool.
