It is my pleasure to welcome you to my practice. I am eager to get to know my patients and their individual needs. As a first-generation immigrant, I started life here in the United States at the age of 16. I know the value of hard work and delivering valuable services consistently, and I apply those principles to my daily practice.

Dr Julie Liberman, DDS PC - General dentist in Great Neck, NY

I was educated in New York, having completed my undergraduate degree from SUNY Stony Brook, my doctoral degree at Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine, and my residency at Northport VA Medical Center.

I have been recognized with the Quintessence Publishing Award for Clinical Excellence in Periodontics, among other awards, and I am currently part of the faculty staff at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

We appreciate the time youve taken to visit our website and find out more about our Great Neck, NY dental practice, our team, and the many dental services we can provide to help you achieve optimum oral health.

Dr. Julie Liberman offers family dentistry services to protect both you and your childrens oral health. At her practice in Great Neck, NY, the doctor and her team provide oral hygiene education, fluoride treatments, and other types of preventive careso that patients can enjoy healthy smiles from childhood to adulthood. Whether you need help teaching good dental habits to your child or require periodontal care yourself, Dr. Liberman can help.

As a family dentist, Dr. Liberman is uniquely qualified to offer care throughout a patients lifetime. Because there are many dentists who prefer to treat children or adults exclusively, patients often have to switch dentists as they reach adulthood. However, Dr. Liberman provides continuous care which allows her to better monitor chronic conditions, such as gum disease, and conveniently meet your family's needs in one location.

For children in particular, identifying bad habits and preventing future problems is a significant part of our preventive dental care. By providing a full range of these services, our team can lay the building blocks for your familys oral health.

Although our team provides comprehensive dentistry services, sometimes patients require more specialized care, such as oral surgery or the placement of dental implants. Because we continuously evaluate your oral health during regular exams, we can identify when treatment from local surgeons or other specialists is necessary. Among the most commonly required specialized treatments are:

Many children develop problems with the alignment of their teeth and bite. Crooked teeth can be more than just a cosmetic concern: they can also negatively affect long-term health, as well. Overcrowded teeth or a misaligned bite can oftentimes make it much harder to care for your teeth. Plaque trapped between your teeth can lead to decay and periodontal disease. By realigning your smile, orthodontics can make it easier to properly brush and floss, and consequently, prevent oral health problems. If your child shows signs of misalignment, Dr. Liberman will usually refer you to an orthodontist to discuss the possibility of braces and other orthodontic options. Patients who qualify for Invisalign can undergo treatment in our office.

The small piece of tissue connecting the tongue to the bottom of the mouth, or frenum, can sometimes become overdeveloped. While not necessarily a health hazard, an oversized frenum can prevent the tongue from moving freely and interfere with a childs ability to speak. For some patients, it can also undermine their gum health, as well. For such cases, Dr. Liberman can refer you to a specialist for a frenectomy, during which they can remove some or all of the band of tissue.

Because implants actually fuse with the jaw, patients do not have to worry about their restorations slipping while they eat or speak. This also prevents implant-supported dentures from wearing down the gums over time, which can lead to other health problems.

In order to attach a traditional bridge, Dr. Liberman will need to remove small amounts of enamel from the adjacent teeth. By avoiding this step of the process, implants can keep neighboring teeth strong and healthy.

One of the most important benefits of implants is their ability to reverse jawbone deterioration. Nutrients are redirected away from the jaw after we lose teeth, weakening the bone and causing other oral health problems. By acting as a tooth root, an implant can allow the jawbone to rebuild itself.

With proper care, implants can last for decades. Despite these benefits, implant-supported restorations are not ideal for every patient. Because they require surgery to place, implants are generally more expensive than other options and involve a much lengthier treatment timeline.

Dr Julie Liberman, DDS PC - General dentist in Great Neck, NY

Dental implants are made of biocompatible materials that will fuse with your jawbone. Additionally, many patients enjoy reliable restoration with dental implants. Recent studies have found that there is a 90 to 95 percent success rate for dental implants after 10 years.

To help minimize your risk of complications, the doctor will conduct a comprehensive examination to determine your candidacy and identify any potential risks. She will also provide you with post-operative instructions and monitor your healing to help you achieve a successful recovery.

Dental implants are considered the most reliable optionfor replacing missing teeth. Unlike traditional dental bridges, which are secured by neighboring teeth, or dentures, which simply rest on top of the gums, implant-supported restorations are anchored directly inthe jaw. These posts both act as artificial dental roots and stabilize yourrestoration,or visible portion of the artificial tooth or teeth. Depending on how many teeth need to be replaced, Dr. Liberman may recommend a single crown, bridge, partial denture, or full denture.

In order to qualify for treatment, patients need a sufficient amount of bone tissue to support the implants. Unfortunately, because missing teeth often leadto weaker jawbones, many people who would otherwise benefit from implants lack the necessary tissue. To address this problem,Dr. Libermancan perform a bone graft. This minor surgical procedure can stimulate new bone growth and potentially improve a patients candidacy.

Patients who are interested in implants must also be in generally good health. Smoking or systemic conditions such as diabetes can undermine your ability to heal after surgery and can potentially complicate your results.

While the exact timeline can vary significantly from patient to patient, placing and restoring dental implants may take anywhere from fourmonths to a full year or more. The process is usually broken down into several stages:

Patients must first meet with Dr. Liberman to evaluate their candidacy for implants and ensure they fully understand the requirements for treatment. She will review your dental history, ask about your treatment goals, and conduct a thorough examination of your smile. If implants seem like an appropriate solution, she will take x-rays and gather measurements in order to help formulate a precise surgical guide. If you are considering multiple implants, she may also provide a diagnostic wax-up to refine your treatment plan.

Patients often require one of two preparatory treatments: extractions to remove badly damaged teeth and bone grafting to strengthen the jaw. While she may refer patients out to oral surgeons for more complicated cases, Dr. Liberman can typically perform these procedures at her office. In some cases, Dr. Liberman may coordinate care so that the implants are placed immediately afteran extractionor graft. Otherwise, healing may take up to several months before treatment can proceed.

The remainder of treatment isbroken up into two main portions: implant placement and implant restoration.Dr. Libermancoordinates with a local oral surgeon and can provide a referral for your implant placement.

While Dr. Liberman may provide a temporary restoration, she will often wait at least several months before attaching permanent restorations. This helps ensure that the implant is fully integrated into the jawbone, providing as stable a base as possible for your artificial tooth.

Dr. Julie Liberman provides porcelain veneers at her Great Neck, NY, dental practice for patients who are unhappy with discoloration, chips, or slight misalignmentin their smiles. These cosmetic restorations can be placed over one or more front teeth, and are designed to blend in seamlessly with your smile. Dr. Liberman uses conservative methods to place veneers and completely customizes treatment for the most natural-looking results.

If we find that veneers are appropriate to address your concerns, you must also have good oral health before Dr. Liberman can begin any kind of cosmetic care. Problems such as periodontal disease, tooth decay, and temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD) can easily undermine your long-term results. TMD in particular is associated with teeth grinding, which can wear down and crack veneers. As a result, Dr. Liberman focuses on addressing such problems first in order to ensure a healthy, functional foundation and long-lasting results.

The next visit primarily consists of preparing the teeth. After providing a local anesthetic to ensure your comfort, Dr. Liberman will gently remove a thin layer of enamel from the treated tooth or teeth. This will make room for the veneers so they do not appear bulky or unnatural. Next, she will create a series of impressionsto send to our off-site lab, where your restorations will be fabricated.

Because the fabrication process takes up to 10 working days, the doctor usually provides patients with temporary veneers. These restorations help to protect the underlying layers of the teeth and minimize sensitivity until the permanent veneers are finished.

Despite their truly stunning effects, veneers are not right for everyone. Dr. Liberman offers a full range of dental services, and can provide alternatives to patients who are not good candidates for several reasons.

I cracked a large chip off of my front tooth and all I saw in the mirror was Beverly Hillbillies. I sing in public. Definitely not a good look. I called my awesome dentist Dr. Morganstern after 7pm last night and he personally called me back by 8:30! That act alone rates 5 stars with a snap and a twist! And he was sick to boot! After telling my tale of woe, he asked if i was in pain, which I was not, then he says "Don't worry we will fix you up tomorrow, call Giselle in the morning!" At 12:15 today I walked into the office, Giselle and Dr. Lieberman took me into the office. I was sure I was missing my gig this afternoon and to say I was unhappy is a ridiculous understatement. Giselle prepped me and Dr. Lieberman sat over me with the jewelers double eyes on, she turned on the bright light and proceeded to perform magic! I actually heard Giselle say, "it's like magic!" About 20 minutes later I ran my tongue over the front of my tooth looked in the mirror and thought "Geez, I think I will play the lottery today, this is my lucky day!" The fix looked better than my other tooth! I am so grateful to Dr. Lieberman for her patience and talent and expertise! She was absolutely worked her magic and I am running out to my gig right now! Dr. Lieberman, I am your newest number 1 fan! Thank you a million times!

Dr. Liberman is a life-saver. I cold-called her clinic after my developmentally disabled adult brother had developed an infection in his mouth following a procedure with another dentist. I wanted to get a second opinion. Dr. Liberman was able to get my brother in to see her that day, and subsequently was able to coordinate with the oral surgeon to coordinate his care. Her follow up with me (and my brother) as incredible. I recommend her very, very highly

Dr.Liberman is an amazing dentist. I have had cleanings, x-rays, fillings, crowns and veneers - with every procedure there was no pain and the results were terrific. Dr. Liberman is personable, professional and always in a good mood. She runs on time which is extremely important when you have a busy schedule. I highly recommend her to anyone. Her offices are close to the Great Neck train station if you need to take public transportation and if you have a car, driving is a breeze. Give her a chance and you won't go to any other dentist after seeing her. An added plus is her assistant, Denise. She is funny and always lightens up the air when you may be feeling a little anxious.

Dr. Liberman is the absolute best dentists I have ever been to. She is caring, honest, patient, meticulous with her work, runs on time and goes out of her way for her patients. Recently my eight year old had a dental emergency. Her ordinary pediatric dentists was unavailable and I called Dr. Liberman in a panic. It was late in the day and she said bring her right in I will wait for her. We jumped in the car and when we arrived at the office she was there with a smile and a sense of calm. My eight year old was so nervous about going to a regular dentist. She was also in a lot of pain. Within minutes she was laughing, interacting and very at ease. The experience could not have gone better for my daughter. Oh and by the way this is all during a root canal. The tooth was saved and so was my day by this wonderful dentists. The staff is so accommodating and friendly too. Great office. The best of the best!!!!
