Anshuman R. Soni, DDS earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). After graduating in 2003, he worked in both community health and private office settings. He completed the comprehensive implant training program American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) MAXI course, Atlanta, Georgia in 2009. His past experience also includes serving as Adjunct Faculty at UIC and as Interim Dental Director at the Lake County Health Department. He currently also serves on the Career Advisory Council of the Vernon Hills High School District. He enjoys spending time with his wife and kid, also watching sports and playing racquetball.
Terecita is the Office Manager and Insurance Coordinator helping patients maximize their plan benefits. She has been working with Dr. Soni since 2007 as a certified Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) and is bilingual. One of the things she enjoys most about dentistry is to see how changing a patients smile increases their confidence and transforms their lives. She also likes outdoors, reading, shopping, and spending quality time with family.
Nancy is a bilingual certified Dental Assistant (EFDA) with over two years of chairside assisting, is proficient with digital x-rays and making whitening trays for patients. Learning exciting stuff at the office has taught her the importance of treating our patients like family and making sure that they have good memories of the visit. She likes going to the gym, enjoys Spanish music and dance, and spending time with kids.
Tatiana is a bilingual certified Dental Assistant (EFDA) with over five years of experience. She enjoys answering questions and makes clients comfortable in the chair. She works hard to assure that things run seamlessly and our patients and staff members are happy. She and her husband are from Colombia and enjoy time with their 3 year daughter at the library and pool.
Kelly Reeves, RDH, BS, completed the Dental Hygiene program in 2008 at MATC and continued the completion program at the University of Minnesota, Mankato in 2014. Having more than 10 years of dental industry experience, the primary focus is educating and influencing patients about proper home care, products, and services that lead to positive and healthier oral care. She enjoys working with patients and sharing their positive outcomes. Spending time with family, yoga and shopping are a few of herinterests.

If your gum disease is beyond gingivitis, the first step of the treatment usually involves Deep Cleaning calledscaling and root planning (cleaning below the gums). This treatment may be done over more than one visit, depending on your personal needs, and usually needs local anesthesia.
Air polishingis a procedure which usesair and water pressureto deliver a controlled stream of specially-processed powders in a slurry through the handpiece nozzle. The fine particles of the powders are propelled by compressed air in a spray and directed onto the surfaces of the teeth. This pressurized jet of air, water and powder removes surface stains, plaque and other soft deposits, such as food particles, trapped in between the teeth.

I got there early but Dr. Soni himself was at the desk to check me in. Soon after, the hygienist came and brought me to an available examination room. She made sure she got my teeth clean and pointed out areas I need to pay closer attention. Got my 6month visit yesterday, and they are just as good if not better than last time! From the receptionist to the hygienist, everyone made sure all we're going well. The cleanliness of the bathroom made the visit a wonderful experience.

I highly recommend Great Lakes dental Solutions to my friends and family. I went there for my yearly checkup and cleaning. My experience was wonderful. Dr Suni was very personable, skilled and explained everything. Kelly, the hygienist was also very skilled and personable .

Even though I moved 1000 miles away, I still came back for a check up when I was back in town. Best dental care I have experienced. Not just maintenance, but I had 4 crowns done here as well

I've been coming to Dr. Soni for a few years now. Everyone is friendly and kind. Dr. Soni never performs unnecessary procedures, he explains what he is going to do before starting, and he always gives suggestions for improvement that are not judgmental. I plan on remaining a patient for many years to come!

I was relatively new to the area and needed a dentist. Based on other reviews I read, I chose this establishment. The office was clean, the equipment seemed up-to-date/new, and the staff was very friendly. I had x-rays done and a general cleaning. I knew I needed some dental work - specifically to one or two of the existing crowns I have. Well, according to the dentist at Great Lakes, he told me I needed almost $10,000 of dental work! Specifically, I needed at least 3 dental implants. Plus I had a cracked tooth that he kept pushing on and asking me if it bothered me. I kept telling him "no", but he kept pushing on it until I finally told him to stop. It was as if he was trying to get it to become a problem. I left there and never went back. I was very upset. Found a different dentist in the area. An absolute gem of a man. In the two years since visiting Great Lakes, I've spent approximately $1,000 dollars with this other dentist and my teeth are great. No implants, no problems with any cracked teeth, nothing other than resolving the issues with my existing crowns. The reason I decided to write this review now was, this week in the mail (2 years after visiting Great Lakes Dental), I received an itemized service contract for approximately $9,800 worth of dental work from them. The contract stated that the prices were good for one year and that I should sign and return the contract at my earliest convenience. Apparently they need the business, but I will never step foot in that office again. UPDATE: A treatment plan and friendly reminder 2 years after the fact? And I forgot to mention, they also included information on how I could get financing for all of the work I supposedly needed.

Every time I go Mr. Soni is very kind and explains in detail what he's going to do. I was nervous to go after years of not being able to visit a dentist. The staff is very friendly. Highly recommend going here!
