My decision to join the oral healthcare field was based on my understanding of how vitally oral health is connected to overall health and well-being. I love working in dentistry because of the fact that I am not only able to contribute to healthier teeth but more importantly, to greater, healthier lives for my patients. At the end of treatment, it is absolutely exhilarating to see my patients triumphant smiles and confidence in their health. Not a day goes by that I am not thankful for the opportunity I have had to forge a path where my career of helping people has so intricately merged with my personal desire.
I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Archaeology from Boston University and completed my Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Later, I completed my General Practice Residency at Brigham and Womens Hospital, Mass General Hospital, and Harvard School of Dental Medicine. I earned my Fellowship in General Dentistry from Brigham and Womens Hospital and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute after that.
For me, continuing my education in my field is not optional it is mandatory. I understand how critical it is for my patients that I stay fully abreast of all the latest and most scientifically proven advancements in dentistry. This is why I constantly review scientific articles and professional journals, and I actively participate in regional and national meetings with highly experienced colleagues.
Being active in the community is such a great way to improve ones own life directly by helping to positively affect someone elses. Community service is important because people have a responsibility to provide support for one another. For this reason, whether it is doing volunteer work or donating my own resources, I dedicate much of my effort to giving back to the wonderful members of my community.
I am a native of Boca Raton, Florida, but I have enjoyed calling the greater Boston area home since 2008. When I am not in the office, I enjoy hiking, mountaineering, kayaking, and traveling domestically and abroad. I also love to read and am a self-proclaimed foodie.
I am most passionate about helping those in need, especially by providing new function to those who have to rebuild their dentition with implants and comprehensive restorative care. Explaining the connection between dental health and overall health and well-being is one of the main reasons I chose dentistry as a profession. Working with so many different people helps me appreciate how important communication is when building relationships. It is important not to approach every individual the same way, but rather to build relationships customized to each individuals needs and wants.
I grew up in Queensbury, New York, in the foothills of the Adirondacks, and now reside in the Boston area with my wife and our two young boys. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, and watching baseball, football, and all Boston College sports, as well as playing golf, following politics, and doing photography. I participate in various charitable activities associated with Boston College.
Dentistry is an exciting yet challenging field, but I truly enjoy every day of practice. Periodontics in particular is a fascinating field that is constantly changing and updating. New research and technology is changing the way periodontists treat patients, with increasing comfort and efficacy. And while I am passionate about saving teeth, dental implants have allowed for treatment not possible in the past and is an integral part of my practice.
I am originally from Queensbury, NY and now live in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston. Im a newcomer to the city, but am excited to make this my new home. I spend most summer weekends in Lake George-boating, swimming, and spending time with family. I also enjoy running, skiing, cooking, and reading.
