Hygienist was intrusive, overwhelming, and judgmental. Came in for a first visit - x rays and regular cleaning. She bombarded me with personal questions about my chronic medical condition, telling me I should have no reason to be stressed since I am unmarried. She then proceeded to tell me about $500 worth of out of pocket treatments she wanted to do that I supposedly needed, including an oral cancer screening I have zero risk factors for as a 26-year old non-smoker. After I asked for a few minutes to look over and talk to the dentist first, she complained about me to another staff from the opposite room, which I could easily hear being a mere few feet away - "You know, she didn't want to see me - she wanted to see the dentist, not me." On top of her judgmental attitude and comments throughout the cleaning, I left with a cut on my inner cheek from one of her tools. The dentist and x ray technician were professional and explained their procedures, findings, and recommendations clearly and impartially to me, and were able to foster a sense of rapport and patient trust. However, I will not be returning to this practice due to this hygienist's extremely unprofessional manner.

*Scam Alert* Another negative dentistry experience. I made an apt here for only a cleaning with the hygienist not the dentist. I filled out all my paperwork beforehand so I wouldn't have to wait in the waiting room for a while. Well, that didn't matter. I was called in after 35 minutes of waiting, when they told me "you'll be called in a moment" when I first walked in. My time is valuable and I know Covid/staffing issues are present however I would have liked to be informed of a 35 minute wait for a simple teeth cleaning. Who expects to spend 2 hours in a dentist office for what should be a 30 minute cleaning? Now for the scamming part. I came here for a cleaning as I said, but when they sat me down they started talking about x-rays, dentist evaluation, etc. I explained that I had my yearly appointment with x rays and everything already this year at another dentist, and I explained again I only want/need a teeth cleaning at this time. They didn't care, they wanted my money and so they were trying to force me to get things done that were not needed. Why do I possibly need x-rays done for a cleaning when I had them done 4 months ago??? They kept offering me things that were not covered by my insurance. They refused to do my teeth cleaning alone without X-rays, etc!! They wanted more money from my insurance/ pocket. And reading from other reviews they clearly just do what they need to get your money. I ended up walking out without any services and will never step foot in a great expressions again; and don't recommend it to my worst enemy

SCAM Likely: My wife went in for a cleaning and the hygienist told her that she needed an extra deep clean and that it required antibiotic injections for additional $500. This feels like a standard operating procedure with new patients, as I've seen it in other reviews. They also had the paperwork printed out for this procedure within 30 seconds of sitting in the chair. Then the dentist came in and after a brief review recommended her as a great candidate for Invisalign, no thanks. As the cleaning resumed the final pitch was for a special flouride that cost an additional $30. Get lost. Place definitely isn't on the up and up

Linn went above and beyond in getting my insurance straightened out. Insurance people; what can I say? Dr. Ahmed was pleasant, John was very nice, and Davi the hygienist was great. Very down to earth people at Great Expressions in Lynbrook. And most importantly the facility is nice, and clean.

This was the first time going to Great Expressions Dental. I have used another dentist in the past and never had any issues. I thought i would try Great Expressions because I live within walking distance. This was a mistake. I needed to have a routine check because of upcoming surgery. This was a pre- surgical clearance. I guess the surgical staff did not want me to have any teeth becoming loose while in surgery. So Great Expressions Dental had me over a barrel. I had to get a cleaning which i was fine with. However, The dentist came up with some story that i could not have a regular cleaning and i needed 500 dollars worth of antibiotics. I spent over $1000. That day. How would you feel? It did not make me feel any better when the woman dentist asked me what i do for a living. When i told her, she said i could afford it! Very professional comment. Sorry guys. Stay away.

The doctors are nice and professional however the receptionist and dental hygienist are horrible I had The worst cleaning I have ever had it was rushed because I did not want to purchase a $400 deep cleaning or a water pick that I don't need. I will never come back for a cleaning here again. Besides the fact the office where they do the cleaning is filthy it has rodent traps on the floor.

Poor communication and a lack of transparency, but that's obviously how you profit off of people who don't have money! Their "cleanings" are too fancy for people with Medicaid.. so if you're ready to pay 95$ (even with insurance) for a cleaning, this is the best place for that. Please take heed to the reviews that mention having to unexpectedly pay after a visit at this place. Save yourself the drama and the empty apologies. I've never left a doctors office feeling so taken advantage of.

I'm totally disappointed with Great Expressions the service could be better, but, the front desk office administration definitely needs some restructuring, Work is needed with Staff understanding how Dental plans work and not over charging customers.

They are overpriced and nickle and dime you for everything. And the hygienist talks to you like your a 5 year old.
