The dental team at Great Beginnings Pediatric Dentistry knows you have many options to choose from for your childs dental care. We dont want to be just another choice. We want to be the best childrens dentist in Northeast Ohio.
If you ask kids what they love about Great Beginnings Pediatric Dentistry, they might mention the touch-screen games in the waiting room or the movie screens over every chair. Parents, however, tell us that they appreciate all of the following benefits we have to offer:
Our dentists have 25 years of combined dental experience. In addition, they are warm and caring. They invite your questions and your childs curiosity. Their tell-show-do approach engages children. It also helps children overcome their dental anxiety.
Your childs complete oral health includes their tongue and airway health. As a result, our team routinely coordinates care with myofunctional therapists, orthodontists, ENTs, chiropractors, other body workers, and lactation consultants for the best outcomes for your child.
When working with kids, having the right job title just isnt enough. Every member of our dental team knows how to meet kids on their level. From pajama parties to silly selfies, they go the extra step, so your kids look forward to their dental visits. At the same time, they show their serious side by exceeding the required continuing education requirements each year.
At the end of the day, though, what we believe that what really sets us apart from our competition is our passion for what were doing. We love working with kids, and we believe that shines through in all we do. Your kids will love coming here because we do!
Our Solea laser dentistry means NO needles and NO dental drill for kids! We also use digital radiography (x-rays), intraoral cameras, and mercury-free fillings. Laser frenectomies are also available with this technology. Dr. Laura and Dr. Rachel invest in the latest technology and training available, so your child receives the best care possible.
Our no-drill SDF cavity treatment option is as easy as painting on a tooth! We are among the first dental practices in Northeast Ohio to offer this option to kids! Our laser dentistry is also less invasive than a traditional drill and it usually does NOT require anesthesia and maintains more healthy tooth structure!
Of course, children need to learn proper brushing and flossing habits. Nutrition also plays a critical role in a childs oral health. At Great Beginnings, we take the time at each visit to teach children about taking care of their teeth and help parents develop strategies for at home. Dental sealants also help give an extra boost to fight cavities.
We welcome office visits! You can come to meet Dr. Laura, Dr. Rachel, and team before your child needs any work done. Likewise, we invite you to call our front desk team members to get all your insurance questions answered

When most of use hear the word laser we think of science fiction movies and light sabers. Lasers are not just for fiction any more, though. They have many medical uses today, and use by a pediatric dentist is one of them. While Dr. Laura and Dr. Rachel are no Jedi masters, they are certified in laser dentistry. The team at Great Beginnings Pediatric Dentistry has been offering Solea pediatric laser dentistry to their patients since 2015.
Cavities develop sometimes, even with good brushing habits and a healthy diet. Not surprisingly, many children find getting a filling unpleasant. Solea laser dentistry for kids takes most of the unpleasant parts of getting a filling away.
The pain that comes from a traditional dental drill is caused mostly by the heat and vibrations it produces. These are absent with the laser, which instead produces a numbing effect while it works. This means many procedures can be performed without any shots to numb the area first.
The high-pitched whine of a traditional drill can be unsettling to many patients. That sound is absent with the Solea laser! The noise at times is described more like the little pops of pop corn popping! This happens as water droplets pop from the lasers focus.
The dentist must apply pressure with a traditional drill to remove the decay. The result is uncomfortable strain on the jaw and jarring vibrations. No pressure is needed with the laser; the doctor simply aims it on the decayed area. The laser does the work, not the dentist pushing on the drill.
