After graduating from the UT College of Dentistry, Dr. Hensley served six years in the US Army Dental Corps before entering into private practice. The passion he and his staff have for dentistry and their patients has allowed the practice to thrive in Franklin for almost 25 years.
Dr. Hensley attends many continuing education courses to stay current in the latest advances in dentistry. He is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and is one of the few dentists in TN to be a diplomate of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM) where he served on the board of directors. Dr. Hensley is also a member of International Team for Implantology (ITI) and the Spear Study Club. He serves in the Dental Assemblies and Dental Task Force committees of the American Association of Sleep Medicine (AASM).

Dr. Hensley focuses in snoring, sleep apnea, and associated dental conditions. For patients with snoring and sleep apnea issues, we will work with you and your sleep physician to restore your sleep and your health.
The quality of your sleep affects your daily activities and has a huge impact on the overall quality of your life. If you are not getting an adequate amount of sleep during the night, then you and your body may suffer from sleep issues and be prone to daytime sleepiness. Snoring and Sleep Apnea are more than annoyingthey can lead to serious health-related issues. For many, treatment can be successfully achieved through a simple appliance worn while sleeping.
There are many, many appliances used to treat sleep apnea and snoring. Some are one piece, some two but all work similarly; they hold the lower jaw forward during sleep. This brings the tongue slightly forward and in patients with mild to moderate sleep apnea (less than 30 apnea events/hr), works quite predictably.
Dr. Hensley has been working with patients using these appliances for about 15 years and has a high rate of success. He sees patients on a regular basis to get them started and accustomed to the appliance, and he is readily available if and when they have additional needs.

Dr Kyle and Edie, along with the rest of the staff, did a great job with my teeth today. It had been 5 years since my last dentist appointment and so there was a lot for them to get through. They took their time and were incredibly thorough to get my teeth back onto a good path of great dental health. Will be going back to these guys consistently going forward. Great dental care and great staff made it an all star visit!

I am an expert on Dr Hensley, his staff and their codes of kindness, efficiency and expertise. I began there 21 years ago when my mouth was a train wreck.They were not daunted or condemning but began to repair and rebuild what I had failed to care for. I am 80 with no dental problems today because this people took care of what I had not. I actually like to go to the dentist. How many can say that?

I've been going to Grant Hensley's dental practice for 20+ years. I'm a clean-teeth freak. If the consultations and service weren't excellent I would've gone somewhere else. Most importantly, it's about the staff and what great people The Hensley's are as humans. #smile

If I could give zero stars I would. I left in so much tooth and gum pain from just getting my teeth cleaned. I came home to my gums still bleeding. My gums are rubbed raw and some of the skin is gone from them. My teeth are extremely sensitive and have been worsening since i've been going to this dentist. Extremely dissatisfied.

Dr. Hensley is a class act. I was referred to him as a consult of sorts (second opinion) by Dr Carden. She spoke highly of Hensley, and I was like -- sure, sure... heard this before. My experience with Dr. Hensley was over the top. Check-in was easy (all electronic), no wait to enter room upon arrival, and I saw him within 15minutes of arrival. He spent 30min with me and had already reviewed all my reports and notes and points for discussion (via Dr Carden) prior to my appointment. The best parts? Given that he is not directly affiliated with some large health network/system, he is not financially incentivized purely for increasing sales volume. As rare as it is to find a provider like this today, Dr Hensley saw me and provided a second opinion FREE OF CHARGE. And yes, while this is totally not expected of every provider, it speaks volumes about the type of person that he is... not only that, but he is a man of integrity. This is so hard to find these days, especially in healthcare. He assessed my current dental appliance (nightguard), listened to my symptoms, and made an unbiased recommendation to continue using my current nightguard with some minor modifications, such as using different bands. He also suggested a test or two and an alternative medicine MD in town, as he thinks there may be chemical imbalances influencing my current health. I also liked his honesty regarding both what he was an expert on and that which he is not. I highly recommend Dr Hensley to anyone in middle TN.
