The DIAGNOdent device consists of a wand and amonitor. The wand delivers harmless laser energy to the tooth, which the monitor translates into readings. The higher the reading, the greater the level of present tooth decay.

When left untreated, dental decay continues to spread. The longer a pocket of decay or cavity is allowed to exist, the greater the chance of serious oral health concerns. When decay reaches the underlying structures of the tooth, you may need a root canal or worse, an extraction. By choosing a dentist who utilizes the advanced DIAGNOdent technology, you can increase the chances of early detection and stop decay from causing serious issues.

The final cost of your office visit will largely depend on the condition of your smile. Because DIAGNOdent allows your dentist to detect decay before you need expensive or extensive treatment, you can generally expect to save money in the long run if you choose to undergo an exam with DIAGNOdent.

CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. This may sound complicated, but is actually a system that greatly simplifies the process of getting a dental crown. There are several advantages to CEREC...

Historically, dentists would outsource crown production to a lab, forcing patients to wait weeks for the finished product. Meanwhile, CEREC crowns are designed and fabricated here in the officeand are typically ready in less than an hour.

CEREC uses computer-assisted design (CAD) and computer-assisted manufacturing (CAM) to transform precise digital impressions into a blueprint for your crown. This means your crown is precisely crafted to your smile, looks like your other teeth, and complements your bite.

In the past, patients would wear a temporary crown while they waited on the lab-made permanent version. CEREC eliminates the need for temporary crowns, giving you the necessary oral health protection before you walk out the door.

Sometimes, we need to perform a preliminary treatment to address the underlying problem. For example, a serious infection may require a root canal to remove bacteria and decay from the inner tooth structure.

When your crown is ready, our dentist will place it over the reshaped tooth and assess the fit and feel. If you and the dentist are both happy with the results,we cement the crown in place with special dental cement.

Implants are placed in a surgical procedure and fuse to your jawbone over the course of about four to six months. When this process is complete, we move on to the next phase ofplacingthe prosthetic tooth. While the dental implant treatment process can span several months, it is ultimately considered the best solution for patients with a single missing tooth.
