I graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in 1982 and the Childrens Memorial Hospital residency program two years later, after serving as chief pediatric resident. Having been a specialist now for more than 35 years, I feel truly blessed to have been able to fulfill my lifelong dream of making a difference in the lives of children on a daily basis. I strive to perform the highest standard of care for my patients and my intent is that all professional care delivered at my office will be safe, comfortable, and highly aesthetic for each and every patient.

I always aspire for the highest levels of clinical excellence and love all aspects of dentistry. I incorporate the latest in technology and scientific advancements into preventive and restorative dental care for my patients. I particularly enjoy working with special needs and medically compromised individuals, sincemany of them are seen well into adulthood.

I attend numerous local and national dental conferences on current topics and advances in the field of pediatric dentistry, and also visitlocal schools to educate children on proper oral hygiene, diet, and doing well in class. I am an active member of the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, California Dental Association and Sacramento District Dental Society.

I have three amazing children:Mitchell,Teagan, and Hunter. Im alsoblessed with two incredible daughters-in-law:Hannah (left) is Hunters wife and Alyssa (right) is Mitchells spouse. I enjoy spending the majority of my free time with family and their various activities, preoccupations, and travel destinations. I also enjoy traveling, exercising, scuba diving, snowboarding, hiking, and reading books!

Pediatric dentistry goes beyond the treatment of dental diseases. Its a great opportunity for prevention and education. Its a time to create good oral health habits, to partner with patients and parents, and to work hand-in-hand with children as they age, with memories of positive dental experiences. I conduct my professional duties with honesty, ethics, integrity, and open communication.

I received my dental degree in Brazil, my native country (but Brazilians spell it Brasil!), a masters in dental public health at the University of Alabama, and a specialty residency at the University of Michigan followed. Since obtaining my dental license, I knew of my desire to work with children and families:to improve their oral health, and to create a positive outlook in their future dental experiences. I worked in public health for several years, where I had the chance to impact the oral health of California children and families.

Since 2000, I have been working in pediatric dental practices around the Sacramento area, and most recently had the opportunity and the pleasure to join Granite Bay Pediatric Dentistry, which provides patients with state-of-the-art pediatric dental services. It has been a rewarding 20 years.

A little about my personal life and my interests. Besides English, Im also fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. Personally, I love to shop, exercise, travel, laugh, hang out with friends, and just communicate with people.

I have been married for 25 years. My husband and I share very similar professional backgrounds and work ethics. He is a physician with many years of public health experience and currently works as a medical director for a large health insurance company. We have a sonwho is fascinated with computers and games. He currently has taken on guitar and swimming, and his number-one sport is tennis. He has also been learning Spanish and Portuguese so he can enjoy our trips to Brasil. As a family, we enjoy traveling, movies, and spending time with the grandparents.

I have grown up in small towns in Northern California since the age of 7. I have always been active in sports and enjoy baseball, football, soccer, and wrestling. I currently am training for my first triathlon and enjoy doing spartan races.

I started my professional career running restaurants and worked with the Olive Garden as a general manager for 10 years. I began working in the dental field as a way to spend more time with my family and have been working with orthodontics and pediatrics for the last 15 years.
