Dr. Gabrielle F. Cannick is a native of Charleston, SC, and graduated in 2001 with a B.S. in Biology from Furman University. After completing arigorous eight-year dual-degree program at the Medical University of South Carolina, she graduated in 2009 with both adoctorate in dental medicine and a Ph.D. in Epidemiology.Her dissertation focused on theprevention and early detection of oral cancer in South Carolina.
A strong believer that dental fear and anxiety should not prevent any patient from receiving the highest quality dental care, Dr. Cannick has received extensive training in and is a certified member of theDental Organization for Conscious Sedation. She is also a member of theSouth Carolina Dental Association, theAmerican Dental Association, theAcademy of General Dentistry, and theAmerican Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, and the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health.
Dr. Cannick previously worked as an associate dentist in Charleston with her father, Dr. Larry J. Ferguson, president of the South Carolina Dental Association from 2006-2007. Since relocating to Anderson, SC she has been a former volunteer dentist with theAnderson Free Clinic, supporter of Meals on Wheels of Anderson, and serves as a Co-Children's leader with her church, Willing Servant Ministries. She and her husband,Dr. Leander Cannick, III, a radiation oncologist, have fourdaughters and one son.

If I could give them 100 stars I would I'm very picky when it comes to what dentist I go to when I tell you grand oak is beyond wonderful they are super nice and gentle I love it definitely my go to dentist from now on

I now know what it feels like to be a celebrity. At Grand Oaks Dental you receive red carpet treatment from the moment you arrive to the moment you walk out. It is by far the most calming dental experience I've ever received. I'm actually excited for my next visit. Every member of the staff makes you feel welcome. It's almost like visiting a friends house. Thanks everyone. Keep doing what you do! You're simply the best!

This has been only my second visit to Grand Oaks dental since moving to SC and I'm finding that it's always a pleasure to come for my dental services. Of course there was excellent service and I always get wonderful information about my dental health at my visit. But I was shocked that my hygienist, Angela, and Dr. Cannick both remembered details that I shared with them on my first visit. I felt very special and I can tell that they genuinely care about all of their patients. Thank you.

Prior to my scheduled new patient appointment, I started having issues with a tooth. I called and they were able to work me in on the following day. I arrived and was taken right on to a room where Dr Cannick and the hygienist went over the process and asked me how did I want to approach the issue. What was most impressive was that after the exam, I was sat upright and had a face to face conversation about the best approach. The conversation was two sided and that won me over. Dr. Cannick completed the extraction with no discomfort to me! I'm definitely a fan from now on!!! The whole experience from start to finish was 5 STAR!

The day I was scheduled for a routine cleaning, the office was short a hygienist. Instead of canceling me and making me reschedule, Dr. Cannick, herself, cleaned my teeth and performed the routine check up. I have worked in healthcare for 20 years and I have rarely seen a physician or administrator do what she just did! I was very impressed and she did an excellent job! I would recommend her to anyone looking for a dentist!

Dr Cannick's team is courteous and well-prepared for each patient. Communication is excellent. Hygienists are trained on the most up-to-date dental technology available. The atmosphere is inviting using stress-free techniques to make each patient comfortable. Dr Cannick is outstanding. She sincerely cares for her patients and their health.

I have always had a great experience with Dr. Cannick and her staff until today. I scheduled an appointment for a cleaning and evaluation of some teeth that are causing me extreme pain. Today I didn't have a babysitter for my 5 year old so he had to attend my appointment. Upon arrival mine and my son's temperature were taken and we were wearing masks. After we were seated in the waiting area I was called to the counter to be informed that I would be unable to be seen because I had to bring my child with me. My family not I will return. Not everyone has a babysitter, and my son put his mask on and didn't touch it. So what is the difference between me being in the room when bringing my child for an appointment versus my son having to attend my appointment?

I've been seeing Dr. Cannick for about four years, since I moved back to the area. I like her and her staff very much and I will continue to see them not just because it is so conveniently located to my home but because it is clean and I'm confident in Dr. Cannick. I think she's pretty no nonsense and I like that about her. She has all the modern dentistry toys that would make anyone comfortable and it makes the experience smooth and effortless. Going to the dentist doesn't bother me, in fact I look forward to it. I've always been very diligent in caring for my teeth and gums but she makes me try even harder so that each time I see her, my check up is a little better than before! I do that for my health, but secretly, I like her so much I don't want to let her down, so that makes me a better patient! Dr. Cannick is very smart, I've enjoyed the health pieces she has written for the Electric City News as well as her own Newsletter. I admire her and I know that she does a lot for this community too. This is a business run by a Doctor that is a strong, caring and empathetic woman and her support staff of equal measure. I will gladly continue to support it! If you are in need of a dentist, this is a safe place to call home.

I fell in love with this place from the time I entered. I believe I have finally found a dental home for me and my two boys! Excellent vibe, and they asked me questions that I've never been asked before! Questions that made me feel like they wanted to get to know me as individual as well as my dental concerns! Dr. Cannick and her staff provided the usual fantastic experience. During this COVID-19 experience, her office is spotless with every precaution taken including face masks, face shields, gowns and HEPA/Ultraviolet air filter. I believe that I was safer in her office than home and my wife and I take every precaution. Skittish about going to the Dentist? Go to Dr. Cannick!!!
