Dr. Griffith has a passion for people, specifically for their oral health and how it impacts their quality of life. He loves educating patients and working with them to achieve their healthiest smile.
Dr. Griffith earned his DMD degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago. While there, he was accepted into selective programs including the Advanced Predoctoral Implant Program, Invisalign Program, and distinguished clinical rotations with community health clinics in Humboldt Park, Colorado, and Guatemala.
Upon graduating from dental school, Dr. Griffith then attended one of the most prestigious General Practice Residencies at Swedish Hospital in Seattle which treats the most medically complex and behaviorally inaccessible patients. He gained specialized training in wisdom teeth removal, conscious moderate sedation (IV sedation), implant placement, root canal treatment, and pediatric dentistry. This additional training gives Dr. Griffith the unique ability to determine where his competency lies and treat complex cases early in his career.
Dr. Griffith is passionate about closing the gap in the extreme lack of access to dental care both locally and abroad. His passion took him to the deprived areas of Nairobi, Kenya, the mountain villages of Guatemala, and the coastal jungles of Honduras to deliver healthcare to at-risk populations. These serving trips have been highlights in his life so far, and Dr. Griffith hopes serving across the world through dentistry continues to play a large role throughout his career. If you have a serving opportunity, please let us know!
Once the Griffiths saw the rivers, lakes, ski mountains, and golfing greens of the inland northwest, they jumped at the chance to move to Spokane to become part of the great team at Grand Corner Dental. When not working, you can find them outside taking advantage of the great Eastern Washington weather by hiking, camping, boating, or skiing. When the weather takes a chilly turn, they love exploring new cuisines and restaurants. They look forward to having their family in Spokane, and they are excited to see how Spokane and their family shape each other.
Dr. Taylor Wilkins was born and raised in the Seattle suburbs of Sammamish, Washington. She attended the University of Washington and received her bachelors degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. She continued her time as a UW Husky and attended the University of Washington School of Dentistry where she earned her DDS degree. During her time in dental school, she supplemented her education with countless courses through the Washington Academy of General Dentistry. Some of the topics she focused her extra education on were fixed prosthodontics (crowns), digital dentistry, and aesthetic composite work. She also supplemented her education at the Bioclear Learning Center and earned her certificate in Advanced Posterior Solutions- a composite injection over-molding technique.
While Dr. Wilkins always knew that she wanted to pursue a career in healthcare, she chose dentistry in college because it is the perfect combination of health, science, and art. She enjoys spending her days working one-one-one with her patients and having the ability to impact someones long-term oral health. She is comfortable working with patients of all needs, backgrounds, and ages; she especially loves seeing children! Dr. Wilkins takes a preventative and conservative approach to dentistry; her goal is to educate and incorporate the patient in making treatment decisions as much as possible.
Dr. Wilkins is new to the Spokane greater area after relocating to be with her fiance Dan, a Spokane native. She is looking forward to exploring the recreational opportunities in the Inland Northwest, so be sure to give her your recommendations. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, skiing (both snow and water), and teaching hot yoga classes. She could not be more excited to join the Grand Corner Dental team!
Lauren is a Spokane native. She graduated from Northwest Christian and attended Whitworth for her pre requiring classes for dental hygiene. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from Eastern Washington University in 2012.
Lauren met her wonderful husband, Ben, in high school. They got married in 2010 and now have two wonderful boys, Weston and Charlie. They love to travel and see new places as well as return to familiar haunts. If they arent at Hayden Lake, some of their favorite pastimes are a quick day hike around Bowl and Pitcher or going for a drive to explore new areas.
Lauren is a Christian and involved with a couple of nonprofits locally. She enjoys learning, and while she doesnt have much time for leisure reading these days, she does enjoy listening to podcasts or audiobooks.
I chose to work in dentistry because I was drawn to the relational aspect of it. As opposed to many areas of healthcare where you may never see your patient again after the treatment is completed in dentistry you get to build a relationship with your patients.
