Dr. Kate is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a founding member of Grand Blanc Pediatric Dentistry. She has been practicing for over 10 years with extensive experience treating children, adolescents, and individuals with special needs.
Dr. Kate was born in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan but moved around frequently as a child, living in many different Midwestern states until completing high school back in the UP. She completed her undergraduate degree at Michigan State University, graduating with a Bachelors degree in Microbiology. Since her early days at MSU she has wanted to work as a medical professional treating children. If you ask, she will attribute this to the fact that she is really a just a big kid at heart she loves singing silly songs, dressing up at Halloween, childrens movies, etc. Coupled with a seemingly infinite amount of patience and a compassionate heart, pediatric dentistry was a natural fit.
Dr. Kate continued on to dental school at the University of Michigan where she graduated with her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Following dental school, she moved to Marshfield, Wisconsin and practiced for three years mainly treating children and patients with special needs at the Marshfield Clinic system. It was here that she truly recognized her passion for the care of children and their oral hygiene. She moved back to Michigan and completed her pediatric residency at Childrens Hospital of Michigan where she served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Kate is recognized as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Michigan State Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. She is on staff at Hurley Medical Center in the department of surgery, performing full mouth rehabilitation under general anesthesia. She is a member of the Genesee District Dental Society (where she volunteers as a board member), the Michigan Dental Association, American Dental Association and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Kate has been married to her husband Jonathon for over 15 years. They met at Michigan State and have two daughters Lillian Louise and Ella Claire. Their family loves travelling, especially to warm weather destinations. Dr. Kate believes in treating every child as if they were her own. She strives to provide a fun, safe, and nurturing dental home for all of her patients.
Dr. Ashley grew up in Davison, and completed her undergraduate training right here in Flint at our University of Michigan campus. Dr. Ashley earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 2015 from the University of Detroit Mercy. She completed a one year Advanced Dental Education program at the University of Detroit Mercy and St. John Providence Ascension Hospital in 2016. At the University of Michigan, she received her Master of Science in Pediatric dentistry in 2018. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her three children, husband, and dogs. She also enjoys hiking, fishing, and spending time outside.
It is difficult to overstate the importance that Dr. Klein has had on pediatric dentistry in the greater Flint area. He is a founding member of Grand Blanc Pediatric Dentistry, the practice that bore his name until 2019. His experience in Pediatric Dentistry extends over 40 years. Dr. Klein is a Board Certified pediatric dentist, recognized as a Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Michigan State Board Certified Pediatric Dentist.
Dr. Klein has expertise and an interest in treatment of children with special needs and those requiring a hospital setting. He is a member of the Genesee District Dental Society, the Michigan Dental Association, American Dental Association and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
He is an avid philanthropist, donating significant amounts of money to The Sheppy Dog Fund, which he created in memory of his loving dog. Local recipients include Hurley Childrens Hospital and Flint Institute of Arts. In addition to his pediatric dental training, Dr. Klein obtained his law degree from Cooley Law School!! He is an avid world traveler, art lover, and Harley Davidson rider.
