For more than 32 years, Dr. Ungerleider has been providing quality dental and orthodontic care for his patients in Granby and the surrounding communities. Dr. Ungerleider received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, and his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Ungerleider served a one-year general practice residency at the VA Medical Center in Manchester, NH.

In 1990, Dr. Ungerleider joined with Dr. Richard Martindale, and in 1994 he created The Granby Dental Center, where he has been providing preventive, restorative, and implant and cosmetic dental care ever since.

Dr. Ungerleider completed his certificate in orthodontics from both the United States Dental Institute and the International Association for Orthodontics. His greatest goal is to help all his patients maintain their smiles for a lifetime. In addition to providing traditional braces, he is excited to offer teens and adults a new way to straighten their smiles with Invisalign invisible braces. He is an Invisalign Elite Provider.

Dr. Ungerleider believes that given the advances in dental techniques, there is no reason most people should not be able to keep their natural teeth for a lifetime. His goal is to work with you to achieve maximum health and aesthetics for your smile. He believes that a healthy mouth is essential to overall body health and longevity.

In order to stay up to date with the latest dental treatments and techniques, so you can receive the most advanced care possible, Dr. Ungerleider regularly participates in continuing education courses, and studies implants, aesthetics, sleep apnea, laser therapy, and early childhood development. He averages more than 275 CE hours per year.

Dr. Ungerleider obtained his Master level in the Academy of General Dentistry, a distinction that only 1% of AGD dentists attain. He is also a certified Lumineers provider and certified to use advanced CEREC digital imaging technology, to bring you crowns in just one visit.

Dr. Ungerleider and his wife Kathy have been married for more than 30 years. They have two wonderful children, Matthew and Jennifer. He loves spending time with his family as much as possible. In his spare time, Dr. Ungerleider also enjoys photography, golf, skiing, and actively cheering on his children in all their many activities.

Dr. Desai completed her BDS from dental school in India, but inspired to pursue knowledge in advanced technology, she was motivated to attend dental school in the USA as well. She started her career here as a dental assistant, while preparing to apply to dental school. She was extremely thrilled when her persistent dedication for almost two years gained her admission to the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery.

Dr. Desai is an active member of the American Dental Association and Connecticut State Dental Association. She is always thrilled to learn the latest dental technologies through continuing education year after year. She has been taking CE courses to incorporate Invisalign, CEREC same-day crowns, and laser and implant crown restorations, and has been successfully performing them on patients.

Dr. Desai is passionate about dentistry and strives to give excellent dental care to her patients. She works hard and is dedicated to providing quality dental care to all her patients for the betterment of their oral health. She also loves meeting new people and learning more about them. She firmly believes that every human being has something positive to teach and share.

Dr. Desai and her husband have a beautiful young daughter. In her spare time, Dr. Desai absolutely loves spending time with her family. Besides dentistry, she is passionate about dancing and writing. She loves playing table tennis, chess, and swimming, and enjoys watching American football with family.

I am originally from Connecticut, and have worked in dentistry since 1985. When I am away from the practice, I enjoy spending time with my two daughters, Lexi and Madison, and my fun-loving, handsome fianc, John. I also enjoy cooking, entertaining, swimming, and gardening.

In my free time away from the practice, I enjoy spending time with my husband Shkelzen, and our two sons Leon and Leke. I also enjoy reading, gardening, and volunteering with various church activities.

Ive been working in the dental field since 1966, and my favorite thing about dentistry is still the patient! I have had the opportunity to meet so many interesting people over the years. I began my career in dentistry in 1989 and The Granby Dental Center in 2013. Our practice is a very high-tech, modern dental practice where education is key, and the opportunity to grow is always available.

As a dental hygienist, I provide professional cleanings and preventive care, but my favorite part is education! I love teaching patients about their oral care and giving them the power to take back their overall health.

I began my career as a certified/registered dental assistant with expanded functions in 1990. After several years, I decided to continue my education, earning an Associates degree in dental hygiene and a Bachelors degree in health studies. I have experience in pediatrics, oral surgery, general practice, cosmetic, periodontics, and public health/FQHC, which I brought to Granby Dental Center in 2021.

I enjoy the one-on-one interactions I have with patients, as it allows me to provide care that is personalized to each individuals needs. I love helping patients realize they have the most important role in their self-care and dental health...leading to overall well-being!
