Dr. Fatina was born in Brooklyn and grew up in the New York City area. She graduated from Wagner College with a degree in Biological Sciences and Magna Cum Laude Honors. Finishing her studies in only three and half years, she decided to spend her last semester prior to dental school volunteering and working in the dental field. Dr. Fatina earned her D.D.S. degree from SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. She completed her general practice residency at Staten Island University Hospital, and pursued her pediatric dental training at Stony Brook University Hospital. There, she served as chief resident and completed her research in helping the special needs population to gain further access to dental care, while mentoring dental students during their pediatric rotations.
Dr. Fatina found her true passion, treating children and patients with special needs, during her years of study and training. Looking to further her experiences, she enrolled in a fellowship at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, caring for patients with disabilities and special needs. The year allowed her to successfully treat patients with many different medically complex backgrounds using IV sedation and general anesthesia.
As a new mom, Dr. Fatina was inspired by her son and the other moms around her who had questions about brushing their kids teeth. As a passionate educator, she set out to write A Book About Teeth, an interactive, playful children's book aimed at helping parents find a fun way to teach their children about brushing, flossing, and all things oral health. Because of her commitment to providing accessible resources for parents, all new patients get a free copy!
Dr. Fatina believes in giving back to her community and has dedicated her time to many community service outreach programs, including Give Kids a Smile and Head Start in the lower east side. Furthermore, she loves teaching residents and taught at Lutheran Medical Center. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association.
When she isnt at work, Dr. Fatina enjoys spending time with her husband, Dr. Jason Berk at Gramercy Orthodontics, and their son, Julian. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, skiing, and practicing yoga.

We brought our 12 month old for a frenectomy (to release his very thick lip tie). I was nervous about how it was going to go. Dr. Fatina was very compassionate and skilled. She made my son feel comfortable at each step, distracting him with TV and prizes. It was quick and easy. We were out of there before we knew it with very detailed instructions on after-care and a balloon! Later that night she followed up with us to see how he was doing. He bounced back quickly. We chose the right place! I highly recommend going here, especially for a procedure such as this (not many pediatric dentists take the extra training to do them well!)

Great customer service, very clean space and staff works well with children. Would give 5 stars if there was more privacy for patients, open/shared space up to 2 patients in the same room.

The patience they had with my soon was amazing!! My son is special needs and had a hard time getting comfortable at the dentist. They took their time and spoke to my son with grace and kindness. I was able to breathe a lil better because of them!

Our daughter is not a fan of new people. She hated going to the shoe store! But our first visit with Dr. Fatina was nothing short of amazing. The entire staff was welcoming and so kid-friendly. Our daughter loved showing off how she brushes her teeth, and Dr. Fatina's manner was so lovely and encouraging. No need to dread a trip to the dentist here :)

At first I thought the office was a bit small. Then I noticed how my son, Raymond Vega fell in love with the place and was very comfortable talking to the workers. He immediately draw his attention and curiosity to the Hygienist, Karina whom he and I absolutely love. She made him feel so comfortable and she answered all of his questions. That touched my heart because I am an educator by heart and employment. I truly believe that education should come from any job when children are seeking the knowledge. It was a great experience and we will be back. The doctor's visit was quick and sweet but she was also great. Great, quick, and loving service. Looking forward to our future visits!

Very good experience for a first time visit. No tears. Child friendly ambience. There are many things to distract and make the children comfortable. The doctor and hygienist have very good bedside manner.

The staff here are pros at making kids feel at home in a dentist's chair. Each part of the process is explained in a kid friendly way and if one explanation doesn't work, they have another ready (I.e. they've seen it all). Friendly, efficient, and they even called when a few appointments opened up to see if something worked better for our family's schedule. Very clean and tidy office.

So GRATEFUL for Gramercy Kids!!!! BEST PLACE ON EARTH!!! I originally went to a pediatric dentist on the upper East side who wanted to do 6 cavities on my 6 year old! After doing some research I thought to get a second opinion... thankfully I did and found Dr. Fatina! She is AMAZING after finding her I knew my son was in the best care! The rest is history! My son loved the experience from start to finish! He didn't want to leave! Thank you Dr. Fatina and thank you to her wonderful staff! To the parents out there who don't know where to go or are on the fence come here with confidence your child will receive the best care!!!!
