I worked as a temp hygienist at this office. I worked hard and was kind; the patients and staff were pleasant; albeit most of the patients were late and really made it difficult for me, but they were nice. I worked my tail off and made good time for the day's patient schedule. Fast forward: my purse was stolen from me, along with my keys, the check she issued, all my cards and it was a purse I loved and carried with me for 15 years... :( Anyway. I called and texted Dr. A to inform her it was stolen. I explained the cost for all the expenses to tow and get new key fobs (upward of 800-900 bucks) and the necessity to receive my check asap. She allegedly canceled the check through the bank and told me she would deduct the 35 dollar fee out of my paycheck and mail it immediately (I haven't received it); resulting in my hourly wage for the day being reduced and taking 5 dollars less than what I was supposed to. Call this petty. I'm complaining over 35 dollars. No... I'm complaining about bad human behavior. She's essentially just paying me at a lower rate.... a rate that does not match the level of care I provided. Edit: I've reduced the rating from 3 stars to 1. It's Tuesday, Sept. 6th. I still haven't receive my check. She never sent check like she said she would. I messaged the Doctor to let her know that I didn't appreciate the reduced wage and that I still haven't received my check and she accused me of being an "imposter". She said she spoke to her attorney who advised her to only allow me to pick up the check with a government issued ID. Okay. I have my car now so I can surely do that when I'm not working at my current office from 8-5pm. Her office is in Lilburn, GA.. and I reside in Lawrenceville. The only time I'll be able to pick it up is on my day off which would be next Wednesday. Well over 2 weeks after working at her office. If you work hygiene, be weary. I'm still waiting for my check and it's been over week now and she's "blocking my number now." Dishonorable practices and her behavior is uncalled for, unprofessional, and irrational. Run.

Great chairside manner. After having a bad experience at a previous office I came to Grace Dental. The assistan took xrays and Dr Akinola discussed the treatment I needed. Same day treatment was done and I didn't even feel the needle. The tooth that was worked on only 5 weeks ago at another office was fixed at Grace Dental and as soon as the numbness wore off I was able to drink cold water again with no lingering pain. THANK YOU DR AKINOLA. I will certainly be referring my friends and family to Grace Dental.

Totally disappointed in this practice. Does not call patients back. Unacceptable. Examples of Dental Malpractice Some of the more common scenarios of dental malpractice include: improper extraction of teeth failure to diagnose various conditions (e.g., TMJ, oral cancer) failure to properly treat complications of care (e.g., infection) failure to properly supervise or oversee actions of employees (e.g., hygienists) wrongfully administered anesthesia failure to refer to a specialist, and lack of informed consent.

WOW....reading these reviews are horrible...lol I have not had any of these problems. Have been going here about 6 months. All staff members have been polite. I was excited to find out I can get my periodontal treatment at the same place I have my regular dentist appointment. The last place I went to didn't offer those services and the dentist I found told me my insurance didn't cover the periodontal treatment so I had to pay out of pocket $800. After my 1st visit at Grace Dental I was told they would send off for authorization and I was like "say what?" lol My treatment was authorized, they did the cleaning, I came back for my fillings and I am about to get a partial done. I have taken my kids in there twice and I didn't even have an appointment for them. They were able to come in the back with me so I could keep an eye on them. I had my 2nd periodontal treatment with no issues. Dr Akinola has answered the phone and called me personally and I find it refreshing that a Doctor doesn't feel the need to pack her day with with patients and she allows herself time to be more involved. I appreciate not having to wait for her to finish with someone else before she can get to me, when I go back it's straight down to business. I have nothing but praises for this office and it's staff. Keep up the good work.

I had a root canal performed by the dentist about 2 months ago, I can't complain everything went ok, I was told by the doctor and assistant that I would have to schedule to get my crown to prevent any further damage or whatever it was, after the root canal was done and the anesthesia was gone noticed that pieces of the resine or material she used to fill the hole started to come Off and that there was a gap in my tooth which just had fixed. after calling the office for more than two weeks I was finally able To speak with the dentist who to my surprise answered the phone herself, she told me that she will look into the schedule and will bring me back to get the issue fixed. The following week I was back to grace dental office, she covered the gap and said mentioned that it was "temporary", I am intrigued about the expression "temporary" ??? WHY would I get temporary material that will break apart or dissolve within hours?? !! Regardless needing the CROWN OR NOT?? I have MEDICAID and they PAID almost $1000 for the root canal.....doesn't that entitled the patient to have "THE GOOD MATERIAL"??? she got PAID in full for the root canal, she also mentioned to me that if I wanted a better MATERIAL on my tooth it was going to COST ME $180????? Why???? This PROCEDURE WAS PAID IN FULL !!!! What is the GOOD MATERIAL doctor? What do You mean??? Aren't you supposed to use GOOD MATERIAL FROM THE BEGINNING???.....two months and I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM tired of calling the office and getting nowhere!!!! I'm going to do some research about this and I will follow thru with it, not fair at all

I've went here for a long time until recently. When I first become a client everything was good but as the years went on the service got sloppy. I had root canal and a crown done that was horrible. The crown ended up not being too short and ended up coming out. I found out about it being too short at another dentist once I went in for cleaning and it popped out after I complained about it giving me problems. The other dentist put it back in but it didn't work out and I had to pay another $600 for another crown. Not to mention the problems the dentist gave me with my insurance and getting my money back.

My first experience was horrible. I schedule a first time appointment for my child and I. I get there and the dentist said she'll see me but refused to see my child...said she wasn't taking anymore appointments and to schedule an appointment for another day. This was all after we had been waiting over 30 minutes. Then they wanted my "child" to wait outside...not in the lobby, but outside. I don't understand why they told me to bring my child but refused to see her. I told them to cancel my appointment and I do not recommend this place.

Don't go here. They're unprofessional, rude, and incompetent. I wouldn't trust them to do ANYTHING on my body.

Run!!!! I was so disappointed, I couldn't believe how unprofessional they are. I wouldn't trust them to even brush my teeth. I thought dentists are to make you feel welcomed and actually do what they say they will do. They are liars and can't be trusted. They should tell you the truth over the phone when you schedule the appointment and not lie to you in person after you've taken off work.

I normally would not leave a review but I am so disappointed in the staff at this office ! My original appointment was cancelled one day prior , after I had taken off work . I was called and asked to reschedule, I expressed my frustration being that I am being asked to take off again as a new employee at my job ! I rescheduled for today , repeated it several times ... the day of the appointment comes , which again I had to take off with no pay !!! And I am told she made the appointment for the wrong day !! This is unacceptable and I was told I could not be accommodated for a mistake made by an incompetent employee of this office !
